I suspect if the Witcher 3 had released first DAIs scores would have been a lot worse. Imagine though if their situations were reversed. Say the Witcher 3 had to launch 6 months earlier, and their entire development had to focus on supporting 2 generations of consoles as well as the PC. And now DA:I gets 6 months more development time, and having seen what W3 had done, and their entire period of development is free of the headaches and limitations of having to support older consoles from the get-go. I always thought DA:I was an impressive feat for BW, especially given they had to develop so many of their systems from scratch in Frostbite, supporting the older consoles, and still come out the other end with a damn good game. It felt like such a huge leap over DA2, it was like night and day. Jaws were dropping when they first showed off gameplay. And think many forget just how many new features we actually got in Inquisition. On the other hand, I completely agree a lot of the sidequests felt weak, but in an game that overall kept reeling me back in playthrough after playthough. So, it still did enough right (for me). It was a huge leap over DA2 only because DA2 was a huge step backwards after DAO.
Anyways, I played SWTOR a lot before playing DAI and SWTOR has better sidequests even though it's an MMO game. Graphics do look good in DAI and it has some cool characters, but it's quest design may be the worst I've seen in a single player RPG (next to Gothic 3 and MEA).

SofaJockey Should we bring it back on track? Meanwhile on the ever super relevant UK physical sales chart The Division 2 debuts at numero uno. Though reportedly only manages a fifth of it's predessors numbers. Doom and gloom? Apparantly not since it's not an EA/Bioware game. It should be noted that Ubisoft still has those extra everything physical collectors editions that Bioware scrapped. So there is some kind of incentive to get a phyical copy of TD2. Big in Japan? Well the Division 2 soared up to number uno here as well. 64000 copies sold compared to Anthems measly 78000. Wait what? Fake news obviously.

Yeah so? I did sort of suggest that people spin the largely irrelevant UK physical sales numbers to further their own agenda. Thus doom and gloom for EA/Bioware and sunshine and rainbows for The Division 2.

Most shockingly Far Cry New Dawn still sits in the top 10 in UK sales. It looks beautiful but the story is apparently quite dull. With Ubisoft having sales left and right, perhaps it isn't that shocking. What annoys me is that the Season Pass for AC:O is never put on sale.

Yeah so? I did sort of suggest that people spin the largely irrelevant UK physical sales numbers to further their own agenda. Thus doom and gloom for EA/Bioware and sunshine and rainbows for The Division 2. Indeed. The UK physical sales should not serve to represent what total sales can look like, not on an era in which digital sales are a trend. That being said, you yourself used those numbers to further your own agenda when saying that Division 2 only scored a 1/5 of Division 1's sales when it comes to UK physical. Absolute cherry-picking. On the big-picture, Division 2 is selling even more than Division 1, particularly on Uplay (digital), where sales are 6x what the original game managed to sell. It is doom and gloom when it comes to Anthem sales? We cannot tell for sure. We need more numbers. Yet cherry-picking Division 2 numbers in very specific scenarios (UK physical and Japan) to use as a meter that other games aren't doing well is just frivolous.

I actually kinda liked it for what it was. Nothing mind-blowing, and it made sense it was only $40 (though admittedly, it should have been an $20-25 expansion). Also, the double-jump addition makes stealth kills and gliding so much easier; and I hope it comes to future titles.
