How do you get your balance so high? Higher Endurance gives better Balance and access to gear with higher Balance and you can craft a mod for any armor slot (some gear doesn't have slots though). There are mods that specifically increase Balance. There are skills with Heavy weapons that give big Balance bonuses. I'm already planing a mage-monk character for a future playthrough. Some sort of magical power physical beast with high endurance, magical power and vigor. Pretty much the opposite of what I'm playing currently: a physically weak person with guns, flasks and a rapier (super fun to play). Really, my character is basically a rogue, I even sneak attack monsters (well animals technically, lol).

Interesting...Lady De Sardet didn't have the option to charm the maid in the merchant house in Serene... Was that an option just for a male De Sardet? So I had to get the cabin boy information in a different manner. Then I apparently took a different path than before and met the daddy merchant (I never saw him before, used a back entrance and sneaked away unnoticed). Which led me to gaining sweet +2 points for my faction Rep. I knew stealth doesn't pay off...

I don't remember a charm option with her as Lady De Sardet, I used intuition on her (and 10 golds, Kurt's comment was hilarious).

The "Ancient Woods" are so good looking. I really don't understand people saying this game graphics are bad. I suspect they just check the graphic features and when they don't see the latest toy it's mean it's ugly even if visually it's not. I didn't play much last night, though, but running around in those woods was so relaxing...well except for a few pack of rolling monsters (I hate those). I think most the maps are well done and very pretty. I particularly think they do the creek and stream animations really well, I often enjoy just standing an watching them. Maybe it's the style they don't like? A lot of the new games have almost photo reality quality in their environments. Odyssey was pretty amazing actually.

Advanced to the next act, I think.
Friendly with everyone but the Bridge Alliance, whom I am still at Suspicious.

My experience last night was probably the longest side quest of the whole game (although I think it's technically 2 quests) and one that a few people complained about.
The ending: De Sardet: The man was arrested and put in jail. Me: hmmm, his corpse looked pretty dead when I looted it.
It felt strange how "railroaded" that quest was though.
I also did Aphra's second personal quest.

I've progressed through the story a little yesterday and I have not yet did any missions for them and I've had missions for every faction. I've become at least nice with every faction besides the nauts.

You need to do a main quest with a spoilery one word name, which is about half-way through the main story, before you get the Nauts side quests.

And at a certain point you will get a Naut quest (rather long one, lol) that gives big points.

I gotta stop staying up so late playing games.
Anyway, I thought I'd move things along and start the big drama spoilery quest with a certain individual that you just previously discussed. Didn't realise how long it would take so had to give up 3/4 of the way through because my eyeballs were literally about to fall out. I blame the quest I'd done previously before that about settling a dispute between the natives and a guy who owned a mine, which had an unholy amount of visiting places back and forth.

Did a few more main questing today. It went like this WTF! lol, screw you WTF! Dawww WTF! Dawww WTF! And that's despite knowing all the reveals done in them in advance, lol. The Thelimes storyline has taken a couple of interesting turns No kidding. They ended up being a lot less zealous than the Bridge Alliance in my run. The only zealous part of the Thélème is the Ordo Luminis and they can be dealt with in pretty much all the quests they are involved with (sometimes with extreme prejudices, I don't miss you Virgil). In fact, I just dealt with them... permanently, the Cardinal just jailed the whole order after I exposed one of their stupid plans.

Finally got to play again yesterday. Left New Serene and traveled to the Red Woods (sorry, all the indigenous names are too complicated for me). Explored the entire area and was pleasantly surprised by the size of it. Reminds me a little of a hybrid of DA: Origins and DA: Inquisition in terms of the size of the areas we can explore. Did all the quests there and explored everything (found some golden tier 100 gloves and boots in the far corner of the map and a tier 79 purple court sword, woot?!?) Also did all the quests and did a lot of mob killing. The only ones I couldn't beat were those acid spitting sonic-style rolling monsters right in front of that small cave with the stone altar inside (all the way to the east of the map). The rest was fairly easy, even if they had skulls over their heads. It's actually pretty fun to thin out the mobs by sneaking up and murdering some of them and then fight the rest. This way, I got all the way to level 10 or 11 and feel a little more prepared now. The main quest with the emerging war between the Bridge Alliance and the natives progresses nicely. I like how we are caught between the two in a way. This kind of conflict is what I was hoping for in ME: Andromeda actually. A shame we didn't get it there, they had the perfect setup for it. Anyway, I am curious how it will play out in this setting. In that vain, I also kinda like the visual storytelling that they do here. Like how the native villages blend into the forest very well but around the BA outpost, you see a lot of tree trunks from their forest clearing and such. Even the resources you find change. Where the natives live, you find more berries and such, while at the outpost, you find mushrooms on the dead trees and ore from where they started digging into the rock, etc. That's cool. Unfortunately, the environment, while very pretty, is missing a few animations, I feel. Ok, there are leaves swirling around here and there but none of the flora seems to have any animation whatsoever. All the trees and blades of grass are perfectly still, which in today's day and age makes it seem a bit lifeless once you notice it.
I also like the quest structures. Getting the body of the queen for Siora's questline was cool. Usually I don't mind save scumming with low chance talent checks for good conversation outcomes in RPGs but dealing with the outpost captain after failing the charisma check was so fun, i ended up not reloading but blackmailing him instead. Loved how De Sardet went "The Congregation is neutral in this conflict, you trading among yourselves does not concern us." Very nice, I really felt like a sly diplomat after that. But why oh why is there a frigging notice board with "kill 4 foxes" and "kill that group of random bandits" quests. That's just unnecessary, why does every frigging game dev seem to think that notice boards with filler quests are such a great idea? I hope there are not too many more like that. But anyway, the game is starting to hook me. Looking forward to getting back to it.

I want to start a new playthrough, this time with a male De Sartet, but i was so disappointed that i had mess up Kurt`s romance and had ended the game romancing Vasco instead (though i did like Vasco) that i decided to reload an earlier save from just before asking Vasco about his plans for the future. And after replaying 7 hours i finally managed to romance Kurt ! Now i just have to finish the game again before starting a new playthrough, in order to achieve the last scene with Kurt and his romance epilogue.

I'm now friendly with everyone but the Alliance and the Congregation (both at nice)...but I want to throw the Alliance into the volcano (thanks Siora for the idea). I also learned Petrus had hidden motives to stick with me despite being a diplomatic liaison from Thélème to my Cousin. You know, Siora comes off as all nice and peaceful, but she's so hot blooded actually. He sister even warns you about it, but then her sister also suggest she will kill you if you arm Siora so..it runs in the family!

I wonder if I screwed something up... When I went to Cera for the seed so I could track down the High King and rescue Constantin, she attacked me and I was forced to kill her. Lost a lot of Native faction (though still at Friendly)
I wonder if I could have avoided that somehow? And if things are gonna get worse?
