Do you find mandrakes useful? I felt like their range being so immediate and their effect being so short lived really made them pointless to use. Tho to be fair I didn’t bother investing in their perk cus I disliked them. If you upgrade them, they are really good. I like them, because they stun your enemies, which gives the tentaculas and cabbages time to finish them off yea hthey'er basicall y plant based stun grenades they don't necessaril yd othe mos tdamage by themselves bu tthew ydo stun theenemies long enough for you to do some serious damage. It's one of the things I was able t omake good use of even in my first playthrough as it's the thing I took about them when doing Professo rGarlick's class in my first playthrough. She really knows the right tools for combatting an enemy. Drop a mandrak ethrow in some chomping cabbages and then she's home fo rtea.

With our body count, I wonder if we're the reason they stopped teaching combat plants by the time of Harry's schooling. lol

Well, Venomous Tentaculae are still in the greenhouses as of Harry's second year. Except they're very different Venomous Tentaculae, as they're described as "crawling their tentacles" rather than "shooting acid"

Well, I’ve been watching videos about cut content. Apparently there was supposed to be a fleshed out companion system in the game at one point, with relationship scores and gifts and such. Characters like Natsai, Poppy and Sebastian (also apparently Everett Clopton and Imelda Reyes) were supposed to possibly accompany you on quests and offer commentary. All of that was cut, though I hope they return to it in a potential sequel.

The companions in this game were surprisingly good and fleshed out...well at least the Big Three...but they lacked that permenance and interactivity witht hem that didn't make them as well off as BioWare's. Or even Greedfall's for that matter. The idea of being able to chose them and have them go around the world with you at all times would've been really good. I think the problem might've been that they made the game one continious Open World. Had they turned Hogwarts into a hub I think that might've worked.

I'm not asking it to be like the Witcher or Mass Effect but love plays a big role in Harry Potter and it'll be nice to have it reinforced in the game.

I mean, everyone is 15. Would be 16 or older in a sequel, if we keep these characters. Its not like its weird for British teenagers to date.
Dating like we imagine it might be a bit odd in the Victorian setting if they were holding to it more, but they have openly married lesbians running around. Clearly not overly concerned with keeping to Victorian social mores for the wizarding world. So I don't see a reason our character can't have a crush they go with to whatever the predecessor to Madame Puddifoot's tea house is. Heck there WAS a tea house with outdoor seating right near Honeydukes.

Alright, just some armchair design wishing for a sequel. So I think the map in this game was too big. As colfoley said, I think the idea works better if Hogwarts is more of a hub. Instead, let’s have smaller more tightly designed maps to explore with more to do in them. In DA terms, think less Hinterlands and more Crestwood in terms of size. Maybe a bit larger to accommodate flying. Maybe we can keep Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, the Lake, and the Forbidden forest as one area. Just cut off everything south of the Lake on the current map. Magical transport via portkeys or something opens up a ton of possibilities for 3-5 additional maps. Diagon Alley and Knockturn Alley would make for an interesting urban change, but they can use the plot to justify visiting any magical location they make up anywhere in the world. That opens up all sorts of international or historical possibilities. Encounter some Uagadou wizards while exploring a tomb in Egypt? It’s the 1890s, so the Wild West and Meiji era Japan are on the table. Lots of possibilities if we just get out of the immediate vicinity of Hogwarts.

Its actually funny I guess I didn't read your full comments all the way through the first time and then my own thoughts went 'hmmm the sequel should go international'...then you proposed the same idea lol. I think in that case though then it should be set after the Protagonist's Seventh Year in Hogwarts, assuming of course we do get the same protagonist. Afterall at least for me an international plot line wouldn't make too much in world sense for someone who is a student...but a sort of teacher in training? Could be set over the summer of their first year teaching at Hogwarts. The protagonist gets a letter in the male indicating there are some other traces of ancient magic found somewhere else which makes logical sense since that whole thing would be quite illogical if they were limited only to England. And of course other Witches and Wizards in far off lands may not have the same value set as the Keepers'. Though it did just occur to me to that we could have a situation where it could be very difficult for the Protagonist to appear again given the ending choice involves you deciding to keep the stuff safe or use it for your own ends. Could be quite the dichtonomy.

This was reported by David Zaslav during yesterday's earnings call. Dunno if this number takes into account PS4 and Xbox One sales or not. Plus, we have Nintendo Switch later on July.

I'll be upgrading to an Xbox X this week, but I noticed that it was only an extra ten bucks to buy the special edition of Legacy that comes with the dark arts pack (and also happens to include both versions.) I wouldn't normally, but curiosity got the better of me, so I've been playing through the XBone version.
It actually runs pretty well, and I'll probably finish the playthrough before starting again on the new system (assuming I continue to enjoy it.)
It is a bit of a jarring tone shift, given that I just switched from doing a Cyberpunk 2077 playthrough. Crushing existential themes and ultraviolence didn't quite prepare me for the kid-friendly environment of Hogwart's. I'm definitely having fun exploring the place, but so far I feel like it would have benefitted from taking some inspiration from Rockstar's Bully (though I'm not surprised that they eschewed that route given the controversies they were inevitably going to be dealing with.)

Ran out of gear slots very early, and I don't happen to have access to house storage at the moment (unless there is a way to access it from Hogsmeade.)
I did a bit of experimenting to sell things off, and I believe I have the system figured out, but I'll ask some questions just to be sure:
1. Once I've acquired a "style," I believe it remains unlocked for cosmetics even if I destroy or sell it?
2. Level appears to matter a lot more than rarity, at least at the early stages. Do I need to worry about hanging on to orange or purple items?
3. Is there a global maximum to gear slots, or is it a certain number of slots per category?

Yes, once unlocked a cosmetic is always available. 2. Honestly, rarity doesn’t real matter much, but I didn’t really pay much attention to gear beyond whether it had better stats than what I was currently wearing. 3. Global maximum

Precisely because once you acquire a piece of gear you "archive" that look in your gear "library" for use whenever, sell every piece of gear that's worse than what you're currently wearing, regardless of rarity. Having said this, you'll probably end up wearing purple/orange gear most of the time anyway. The only advantage of said gear is that they have upgrade slots, but I only ever used them when the game forced me to (to teach me how to upgrade gear). Personally, I thought it was a waste of resources to upgrade your gear until near the endgame, and by that point I have to question the point of the upgrade system altogether without a NG+ feature. Bottom line, sell, sell, sell!
It's a shame the game doesn't allow us to sell potions or I'd be uber-rich by now.

Welcome to Hogwart's, where your child will learn clever problem-solving skills, matched or exceeded only by the lessons teaching them many ways to inflict accidents on themselves.
(I'm still not entirely sure why that didn't work.)

Since I'm here, quick question.
Have the PS version of the game which apparently got a whole different quest from anyone else...but not sure I actually ever triggered it? Something about a haunted house in Hogsmeade or something? Just entirely skipped my mind.
