I've got a question for anyone here who swears buy either a PS4 or and Xbox One. I've been going back and forth between my PS4 and my PC constantly. I keep saying to myself "okay, I want my entire library to be on PlayStation," then I see that compared to PC, some games don't look as good on PS4. So, I switch over to PC for some games. But part of me wants a more simpler approach. I work 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. Would I rather turn on a computer (which is connected to my TV), or just grab my controller, turn on my PS4, and relax. Both decisions battle each other out. On one hand, playing on PS4 is simpler, more affordable. On the other hand, the PC counterparts of said games have all the bell and whistles that a console does not. So I ask you: How do you do it? How do you play on the consoles, and refuse temptation from the PC, not caring about which one is more superior than the other? This has been stressing me out for weeks. I think a lot of people pick convenience or comfort first, and don't really stress on the details. I have a PS4... and a PS3, and an old Xbox360... I even have another computer hooked up to the TV (with a wireless xbone controller, so I can just click the little button, and wake everything up).... I still just end up at my desk area all the time with the PC. It's what's comfortable, and convenient for me. Also, I suck at using the controller, so I use that for lightweight platformers or walking simulators, or something where I don't mind being on the couch away from my comfy chair, keyboard, mouse, DAC, and headphone amplifier.

I switched to the PC master race recently. I'm going to be moving to a new place where I won't have space for all my consoles plus a PC, so I bought one that can run the new games and will pretty much be doing everything on that rig, killing all the birds with one stone.
Besides, I'm over having to switch to next gen after four years or so. My once flashy PS4 is now primitive, noisy and churning out too much heat for an Aussie summer.

I've had a PS3, PS2 and PS1 so far because of some exclusive games, but I'm mostly a PC guy. Nothing wrong with consoles, I just like the flexibility of the PC for gaming and I have always been a mouse and WASD dude. Much more precise.
That being said, the number of games with complex performance issues that required a TON of research, testing and editing many files to make them work is increasing at a steady rate, as is my frustration. There are even two games I never got to run properly despite easily exceeding the hardware specs. I could never find out the issue.
Sometimes I do envy people with a console just turning it on and everything working as intended, and I think I will eventually get me a PS5. (Because of exclusives and maybe even ease of use)

HALP! I'm getting sexually harassed by the mods! (If you have a pussy I don't mind) 😆 And yeah, I also own a Xbox One (and a Switch but that's another story) so I just plug that controller in. I'm hopeless with mouse and keyboard gaming unless it's one of those old school top down rpgs or turn based strategy. I'm glad I made the switch, AC Valhalla is breathtaking on my monitor.

Xbox and a PlayStation gamer here👍 I'm also getting a ps5 and XBXSX once all the pre orders and such are all sorted out and I can get one without all the hassle, I don't mind waiting a few months for them. It sucks cause I want to play assassin's Creed Valhalla and Cyberpunk on the series X, but I guess I'll be patient.
That said, I do get on the PC for total war games and DayZ with the girlfriend (she's really the only reason I play on PC 😁 but hey she'll get on MHW with me for console gaming.

I have a PS3, a PS4 Pro, a Switch, and a couple PCs. I'm a PC gamer at heart, so sadly my consoles just sit in my living room and collect dust.
I guess I'm just used to playing games at my desk in my bedroom. It also helps that I have a pretty comfortable office chair and a couple nice headphones to enjoy my music.
I only go to my living room when I want to eat or watch a movie, anime, YouTube or Netflix on my home theater PC.

I've not purchased the latest generation of consoles. I have the previous. But the thing is, I mainly used them to play fighting games. And I really shouldn't be doing that anymore, because of thumb injuries (though I tried recently and surprised myself with how good I still was ). Everything else goes on PC, and in recent years I've noticed I get quickly bored by everything except simulations and strategy.

I have ps3, ps4 and laptop. And ps5 in 2056 when the next lot gets released. Ps4 gets used 90% of the time as I can sit in the room wherever I want. Laptop is a bit more difficult as there's not anywhere to really put it, other than on my legs with the mouse on the couch arm rest . I think I'm more used to the controller now, but let's be honest...I am rubbish at both. Laptop makes for a good heater in winter though!

I'm using a PS4 for my gaming (the PS 2&3 and the XBox 360 are in storage) and I stick with console gaming because it's just simpler. I prefer the controllers and to be honest...it's better I don't lay my hands on a high tech gaming computer because I'm the kind of person who deletes and moves things around without knowing what I'm doing. I've been banished from the "real" computer and do all my online stuff on a chromebook.

I have a PS2, PS3, PS4 and Turboduo.....my PS3 gets the most action at this point (ME3 Multiplayer, ReMake, Dead Space series...Spec Ops " The Line")....i've never really been a pc guy like that. I could never be bothered with specs and cards to get games to run properly. Consoles are an easy fix for that stuff and today's consoles put out some very impressive visuals....Games like "Until Dawn"..."Hellblade"...Spiderman and God of War are games that still look stellar even today.
Only reason i've stuck with Sony is because i just can't get with the xbox controllers...they feel big and bulky and for me the PS controllers feel just right.....Might get a PS5 at some point, but i'm not in a rush to get one.....alot of last gen games,...being heavily pushed and there's nothing that really catches my eye as far as exclusives are concerned at this point and time.

Best to wait for the PS5, I've heard there's a heating issue with it right now. Besides, the good PS5 games won't be coming out until next year. (Horizon: Forbidden West looks epic. )

Yep, got a refurb XBoxOneX for Anthem at GameStop, and have been pretty happy with it. Really got sick and tired of upgrading my PC or tweaking it to get games to run smoothly. Video quality is great and everything on PC if you can afford it, but I've decided to do without the headache, and with the added console stability. Also, at some point controllers just became more immersive to me.

The Xbox Series X is still out of stock. There's no way I'm buying an Xbox Series S. It's limited to 1440p.This sucks, because the Xbox Series X can do a much better job running new games in 4k 60 fps than my PC. I can only run most games in 1440p 60fps. Any higher and the performance plummets. Upgrading will end up being a complete hassle. Because of my motherboard, I can't buy a CPU more advanced than the one I have (my CPU is the i7-4790k). Any newer CPU is not compatible with my current motherboard (I have an ASUS Z97 A). I'm kinda trapped, because if I want to upgrade to a new CPU, I would have to upgrade to a new motherboard, and if I do that, I would have to rebuild my PC from the ground up. This is due to the issue of PCs being incredible stubborn, forcing you to reinstall Windows. I no longer have the code that came with my copy of Windows 10. My OS is on my SSD, by the way. Another problem is what could happen to my hard drives. As I said before, I have an SSD which has my operating systems. I also have two 1TB hdds for my games, music, videos, pictures, etc, and there is a big possibility that the two drives will refuse to work with the new motherboard until I format them, causing me to lose everything. All this frustration over upgrading to a new motherboard. How the hell do other PC gamers deal with this????
Not to mention that PC hardware is sooooo expensive (especially GPUs). No wonder people like glorify the name "PC Master Race" (such a stupid title BTW), they somehow have all the money in the world....

...Is what I would've said if it weren't for the fact that I'm not playing PC games over and over while leaving certain console games (mostly on my Switch) for special occasions.

I think that in the end, PC gaming isn't for me anymore. I'm tired of having to worry what might crash next. I just want to play video games during my free time. No further requirements needed. That's why I'm sticking with my PS5. All the games I actually want to play are in that console. Final answer.
