I read somewhere that this new release is a cross between Uncharted and Mass Effect. Can any one confirm?

I read somewhere that this new release is a cross between Uncharted and Mass Effect. Can any one confirm? Well I haven' t played it yet but I do have it in my Steam library but everything I've seen in the videos give me rather ME style vibes when it comes to the comba tin how yo uselect powers o rwhatever. Thought about making a topic on this game myself but hadn't. Here's one of the reviews for it most reviwes have been quite positive from what I've seen. M yonly concern wit hthe game is tha tit looks quite fast paced in the combat which could be a problem for my disability. I do know that it does have a variet y of difficulty and acccessibility options so I'm hoping I'll be OK. I am looking foward t oplaying it though it looks a cool game. It's not as big or as long as ME though as appparentl ythe story is only about 20 hours long for the average gamer but I'm of the ones who thin kthat no tevery game needs t obe super huge lik eME or DA as long as it's fun. The upgrade system is different from ME it's really just the combat that has a bit of an ME vibe Here's a moer in depth look at the combat

Thanks so much for this. I watched the first video you posted and I agree that the combat looked very frenetic and confusing. As an older gamer my coordination is not great so I was concerned and I am less interested in the game as a result. I’ll watch the combat video and maybe it will address my concerns.
I am not a marvel fan although I did watch the guardian movies and found them fun. Nonetheless I am looking for a new game after finishing AC Odyssey and Valhalla and was hoping this one would be a good choice. We shall see 🤔

We shall see 🤔 Yeah I only really got it because this game and Kena are really the only games that managed to intrigue me this year. I think I could probably d oit on Easy but unti lI get and pla yI deon't think I can be sure. I am looking forward to the nwe Halo but I wouldn't exactl ycall i tunique compared with what I've played befoer though. TBH thre's nothing really standing out for me this year gamewise. I've no tseen the guardian movies so can't really comment on them but yeah I got ME vibes from this as well. But it's always nice to at least try to find a game or 2 t oplay each year. Thjerre'salways at leas t 1 or 2 that migh be good and at leas tfor me Guardians and Kena were the ones that stood ou tthe mos tout of this years offerings. Both games have recieved solid ratings in the reviews though which makes a nice change.

It's not selling very well. Conversation around the game seems to be dead. It just wasn't one that people had a lot of expectations about. Maybe it will sell more, as word of mouth gets out. If it does. But early sales are nothing to write home about.

I got it now after hearing lot's of good things about it. Only played the first one and a half missions so far but I like it. The gameplay is so so but the dialogue is pretty good so far (and there is lot's of it). Even though the characters are not exactly the ones from the movies, the whole vibe is pretty much exactly the same. Good stuff, great fun.

I haven' thad achance t oplay i tye tbut I have downlodaed it ont omysystem as I' m planning on giving it a go afte rI've finished m ylates tMELE run. Unfortunately I'm still earl yon in ME1 on that so it's going t obe a while befoer I get to it. I am looking forward to giving it a go though as everything I've seen of the game looks good as well. I've no tseen any of the movies but I've alway enjoyed playing super hero type games whenever they have come out on PC o rwhatever. I sa y whenever because they haven't always done so and mostly have onl ygo treleased to console in the past so it's nic t osee that this got an across the board release. Looks like it's got a fwe humourous moments in it too which could be cool but I can't judge that until I play.

Sales seem to be dropping off. In spite of the Marvel brand, the good word of mouth, the positive reviews and the marketing. Shame, really. I guess the damage from Marvel's Avengers didn't wear off.

Yeah something tells me opening up with Groot's and Rocket's abilities is th eway to go for when dealing with a group of enemies I bought the game and started it today and it is indeed it is a lot of fun!!! BUT i ran into a glitch.🤨 I got a perk which enables your weapon to avoid cooling down and enables you to break certain obstacles. I cannot for the life of me get it to work. You have to press L2 when the indicator hits the green section, so the weapon doesn't overload, but it simply isn't working for me. No matter how often I hit the green section and press L2 the cool down doesn't occur and the barrier doesn't break. I have watched videos and it looks like I am doing the right thing but nada! Unless I can figure out what I am doing wrong I can't continue the game😤😤😤 So annoying! Trying to see if there is a work around but no luck so far.

Maybe they'll patch it eventually if it is a problem. The game hasn't been out tha tlong so it's likely still in it's patching cycle. Haven't played i tye tbut planning to start soon as I'm thinking I migh tjump in once I've finished m ylatest run of ME2 onl ygot acouple of missions left there though. As I was thinking I might put ME3 on hold till later and finally put some time aside to try this. As I wantede to play this and do some more on my F1 game as well.

I found out I was pressing the wrong button. You need to press R2 not L2 . I got it to work once, but can’t get it to work again. It is apparently my lack of skill versus a glitch. I admit I am not very coordinated but this is crazy. I am sure I am hitting it 90% of the time but nada. Apparently you need this skill a lot in the game so it seems I threw out $50 . It was a ton of fun do I am not happy! If anyone has step by step instructions on how to use this perk I look forward to hearing from you!

All abilities have cooldowns though as when you use on eyou have to wait for it to cooldown befoer trying to use it again much lik ewhen you use powers in ME or DA you can' t use them again until they come off cooldown. I can' t sa yhow lo9ng the cooldowns are as I'v enot played yet but I know the various Guardian abilities in the game have them .I plan to give the game a try tomorrow as I'm currently finishing ME2 off now as I'm in the middle of the suicide mission about to do the biotic bubble bit s omaybe I'll come up with the answer assuming I choose to use that ability myself

While I think its partly that, but I think its the game had a binge approach to it so it compounded the issue. The conversation around Guardians died a week or two after release like the Netflix release of Stranger Things for there was a lot of conversation early, but people stopped paying attention and it was forgotten.

I don't remember any conversation regarding GotG, other than it looked janky and it probably played like shit, at which point the conversation would stop.

It is a really fun game - good characters, fun banter, interesting story BUT apparently the rapid reload perk is required a fair bit and like I said I cannot master it. I am by no means a gaming master but I have never had to quit a game because a basic controller move was too hard. Very annoying and very humbling.
I am glad I bought a hard copy so at least I can trade it in. Good luck playing. 😞

Oh yea, I finished the game a couple of days ago. Really fun ride. You really have to like cutscenes and listening to dialogue though because that is the main charm of the game. The gameplay itself is ... well, mostly busywork and the fights are ok but no more. But they really manage to capture the atmosphere of the movies pretty perfectly, so if you liked those, you are in for a treat.
I also always have to give a shoutout to games that manage to remain consistently high quality or even get better toward the end. So many developers these days concentrate too much on the first third of their games or so because they know only 30% of the players will even get further than that. I played so many games with disappointing endings or long repetitive boring parts in the second half, that I really have to give GotG kudos for constantly ramping up the narrative and giving us gorgeous new levels right up to the end. I mean, yea, I guess it's helpful during combat and there are a few obstacles in the game, where you need it (those are outside of combat though, so no pressure there and almost all of them are optional I think). In combat, it shouldn't make that much of a difference. The teams special abilities, environmental opportunities and the odd quicktime event for combos are the main damage dealers and you just need to keep dodging attacks a lot. I felt the guns themselves are mostly there, so you have something to do while waiting for cooldowns.

Yeah the guns look like a basic attack move that you use when powers are on cooldown much like in DAI whe nyou just fire off a fire projectile from your staff (as a mage) or a standard arrow from your bow. I'm just about to jump in and give the game a go myself but I could tell this just by watching the youtube vids tbh the guns are there mainly so you can keep the attacks coming you don' t need t orely on certain perks if they don't work for you in many cases if a perk or power doesn' t reall ywork for m ethen I'll invest my points in a different one until I find a way that works.

Yea, all things considered, the guns do very little damage. Their main use is the special ammo you keep unlocking throughout the game.
As for skills, the video you posted earlier in the thread is pretty good when it comes to skill selection. Keep in mind that you don't have to choose skills in order. You can also just get the second skill for a character first and (as stated in the video) sometimes those are the much better ones. For me, Rocket's gravity bomb thing, Gamora's multi slash thing and Starpants' multi-explosion thing were the most important because mostly it will be groups that might give you trouble.
Oh by the way, I saw many people saying you HAVE to play this with a gamepad but I played with M/KB and it worked just fine as well.
Have fun, YOU GOT THIS! (probably).

So I am the only one who cannot do the rapid reload perk on my PS4 controller?
What is the secret? I am clearly doing something very wrong. Can anyone give me step by step instructions?

Yup I get that. Nonetheless there was one room that I couldn’t leave until I used this perk on the crud. Game over if I couldn’t leave the room. The minute I left the room there was more crud that could only be destroyed by using that perk. Then there was a alien that needed to be killed using the perk, but fortunately groot came back to help kill the monster. While there may not be another area that requires that particular perk in order to proceed with the game, I would still like to know how to use it, if only to remove crud and get loot/collectibles. So if anyone can explain it… that would be terrific
