So I am the only one who cannot do the rapid reload perk on my PS4 controller? What is the secret? I am clearly doing something very wrong. Can anyone give me step by step instructions? Think I solved your little problem I noticed there aer som egreen bars that appear whe nthe guns cool down you have t oshoot again when the marker goes idown in them t ouse the quick cooldown. I think that's the problem you'er having as I just got that upgrade myself.

I release and then press R2 when the markers are in the green zone but like I said they only seemed to work once. Is that what you are doing?

I'm still fairly earl yin the game but I'm enjoying it so far. Comba tis a little tricky to master at first but once you get to grips with it it's not too bad. It's very Mass Effecty in terms of how you selec tthe Guardians and their powers and what have you but it's a lot of fun. Graphically it's pretty decent too and the facial animations are well done as well.

I've given up. Too hard and too annoying. What a waste of $50.00, I'm going to trade the game in and try The Ghost of Tsushima! I hope that game doesn't have any tricky controller moves!

So far it has been fine on mouse/keyboard. Haven't tested a controller yet. The difficulty is very adjustable. Have you tried tweaking the different timings, damage modifiers, etc?

Yeah I noticed tha twhen I wa sgetting my ass handed to me by that octopus/Jellyfish boss. I'm still stuck there but it has mad e the fighting a little bit easier. I'm only stuck there because I decided t oleave it for now to work on my F1 save as I was starting ti ofind it a little too frustrating but I plan on goin gback and trying again. I jus tfelt the need to come away and catch my breath so to speak. I think I'll get there it's just going to take a little time and effort on my part. I'm definitel yenjoying it though. Not as much as say a gamr like HZD bu tenough that it's intriguing me as to where the story is going.

I am about 3 hours in, so far, and really enjoying it.
I could probably count on one hand the number of games that have made me laugh out loud while playing, and now this is included in their number.
Perfectly captured the charm and heart of the movies, so far, while still being its own thing. The characters are clearly recognisable in their personality and behaviour, without being carbon copies of the movie versions. Combat is a little bit of a learning curve, coming from MELE, but I'm getting there.
Dying a lot. But I've got this, probably.

I’m about half way through, now (in terms of chapters, the time each chapter takes has varied considerably) and I think I’m getting the hang of it.
It’s interesting. The rest of the Guardians do not appear to do anything (in terms of damage) in general combat. They’re animated, of course, although every so often, Groot will just stand there, but they don’t seem to take enemies down. It looks like they’re there solely to draw Quill’s attention to a problem or potential advantage OR to enact one of their special attacks/finishers at my instruction.
They also have unique uses for traversal. I’m now thinking of them largely as tools with voices and personality. Like if Batman’s utility belt spoke to him.
Story is pretty interesting so far. Characterisation and humour is absolutely top drawer.
Visually very nice, especially with ray tracing, although there is something weird going on with character shadows. Reflections are amazing. But they don’t seem to cast a shadow on the ground..which is odd, to say the least.

Yeah, I’ve been doing that since the start (and you’re right, the abilities are great damage dealers and/or crowd control), but I’m just used to games where companions do something in combat autonomously Quill’s abilities are also pretty good, especially the ‘grenade hurricane’ thing.

Yea, when they are left to their own devices, none of them are really effective. Towards the end of the game, I barely used the guns anymore, except for special ammunition where needed, I was mainly dodging attacks, using abilities, environmental opportunities (those also deal pretty good damage) and combo quicktime events. The basic attacks barely make a difference and IIRC avoiding damage had much higher priority when you were waiting for cooldowns.

The basic attacks from Quill are pretty lightweight, for sure, but when you’re attacking enemies that have been chilled with Ice or stunlocked by Lightning, they seem to mow down their health pretty quickly, even on big enemies. Dodging - especially the lightning mines… … - is definitely key.

Arrrrgh!!! The fight in chapter 8 is a real hassle. AnDromedary - any suggestions? I’m talking about the fight after the brief encounter with the Grand Unifier. Where 2 floating guys keep healing and buffing the Converted. The first wave is usually easy enough, but the second wave is bigger and I can never dodge for long enough to get them down. Am I missing something? Or do I just need to git gud?

I gut gud.
11 hours into the game (and I'm guessing that's about halfway) and it is hugely enjoyable. The combat took a hot minute to get used to coming from MELE. It is wildly chaotic - by design, obviously - which I suspect was thematic because the Guardians themselves are chaotic and unpredictable.
The story is good enough, so far and the few flashbacks have packed some emotional punch. The humour has been first class. Funniest game I've played in a long, long time.
The voice acting is really great, but the digital acting (timing of the lines and the models facial animations) is just incredible.

Now in the beginning of Chapter 12 (I cheated and checked; there are 16 + the prologue). The story is amping up the emotional beats and picking up pace. Game Mantis is way, waaay cooler and more fun than MCU Mantis. #nodisrespect2Pom It's interesting; it's almost like it is a game that wants you to think you're watching an interactive movie. Star Lord has dialogue options and each one is a choice. It pulls from Tell Tale Games titles, where "Rocket will remember that" and "Gamora appreciates you trusting her", appear from time to time. I don't know how much replay value it'll end up having, story-wise, but the game play is seriously fun.

It is good to read more positive feedback about this game. I wait to give SqueeNix my money, until they get as little of it as possible. Too many bad releases from them over the years. This one seems like one of their gems, so I look forward to a sale. Have missed a few good ones, but they will get better
