I constantly used the "back up load order" function from Mod Organizer, more so because MO itself had the tendency of scrambling my load order every time it crashed, which was pretty much all the time.
I really hate MO for this, it started as a great tool, but support is not its strong suit, with one update past year they completely broke it, not sure how stable is now that it was finally updated in December. Nexus Mod Manager has support, but the utility of that Manager is pretty crap compared to MO. They are developing now a new tool, called Vortex. It's in very early stages, but it's supposed to replace NMM. I hope it ends up having the utility of MO, but with the support of NMM.

If it's any consolation, the guy who originally developed Mod Organizer (i.e. the super-stable one still used with Skyrim LE) is one of the people working on Vortex. From what I understand, Vortex will be more like NMM than MO, though I really hope they go forward with a virtual file system for maintaining user mods within the utility.

What I really love about MO is how easy you can activate and deactivate mods by just ticking the checkbox, no need to reinstall, and one mod does not physically overwrite another. I don't get it, if Vortex is just going to be NMM 1.5, why even bother developing a completely new tool to begin with? I mean, surely they know the advantages of MO over NMM, why not add them then?

Okay, after watching the video it actually looks like Vortex is gonna be a pretty powerful tool. Pretty much what I wanted (minus the UI, but... details): Mod Organizer functionality with Nexus Mod Manager support. I know Gopher made also a bunch of videos, but I haven't watched them.
For instance, MO handles .dlls terribly, in fact it cannot handle certain things that must be installed manually, and I couldn't for the life of me get DEF UI to work in FO4 with MO, because the manager does not handle interface files, it will always load vanilla. Nexus does that just fine, but the slow installation of mods and the lack of "activate-deactivate" feature just makes me still usie MO.
I hope this thing gets out of beta soon-ish, so I can start using it normally. I'm sick of bugtesting, had my fair share with MO. One thing I'm gonna hate is having to switch to a different manager for the 3rd time and getting used of the new environment, but well, it's not like I have to pay to use the tool or anything, so I shouldn't complain.

I really wish Bethesda had done something with that "Wolf Queen" trademark they supposedly made years ago. Maybe they will in the future. Nobody knows what Bethesda Game Studio's is developing. Only that they may release a game called 'Starfield' this year.

Only that they may release a game called 'Starfield' this year. It's possible that they eventually go forward with a Third Era MMO (or some other game) in the future. It might sound unlikely, but most people weren't expecting them to make an MMO set in the middle of the Second Era's Interregnum either.

Bethesda Game Studios has made the main series. Since I've been an active community member for Elder Scrolls since 2003. I know for a fact a lot of fans prefer the main game to remain single player. Or BGS continues to do the main series and Zenimax continues with the mmo's. There are some fans that like the idea of co-op ut most prefer it remain as it always has. But the only thing we know is that they trademarked the name 'Starfield' a couple of years ago. We do not know if that will be the name of a video game, app, or book.

As far as Cooperative play goes, there's always that Skyrim Together mod.

Speaking of ESO - people can play it for free till next Tuesday, Morrowind is on sale and new Chapter has been announced yesterday. We're going to visit Summerset Isles, at the end of May (for PCs) and early June (consoles) folks! PTS for PC at the end of April.

As far as Cooperative play goes, there's always that Skyrim Together mod. I also prefer singleplayer. With SP the game is moddable which is something that has attracted PC players since Morrowind. I know I am one. I also like enjoy customizing the games to my own tastes. For example as much as I love Morrowind, the combat system has not aged well. So I downloaded a mod that makes it more like Oblivion or Skyrim. No more misses despite the sword going through them. Now console users get to enjoy the experience as well with Skyrim SE. With an MMO you can't do all that. I don't mind co-op as long as I can still player sp when not with a friend. I own ESO but never finished it, though I've always been intrigued by Mannimarco. I just don't like the mmo aspect.

Beyond Skyrim, Skywind and Skyblivion are all making terrific progress and the former especially will probably have a few major releases out in a couple of years. I think that Skyblivion in particular looks incredible and I hope that the team responsible for the project is able to see all of their hard work result in a finished project. One thing that is nice about the MMO is that they can cover places that are interesting but might not be the best fit for a standalone game. Vvardenfell pre-Blight for example is a fascinating place, but a standalone game for Vvardenfell would be redundant. Instead there's the Morrowind expansion, which covers all of that in a modern game.

It's Morrowind in the 4th age, not like Morroblivion that takes place during the original games timeline. Though that doesn't mean I wont download it. I own both classic Skyrim and Skyrim SE on PC. Though I prefer Skyrim SE for it's stability. I hope those mods are released for it.

Co-op would be a nice addition, but it should remain first and foremost a single player game. Skyrim is one of my favourite games of all time, hell maybe it is my favourite game ever, but I've tried TESO on free weekends or whatever before and I couldn't give a shit about it. It's all about exploring a fantasy world on your own, having tons of other "heroes" running around everywhere just kills it for me.

That is exactly why I never got into SWTOR and wish for a proper single player KOTOR 3. I find the fact that there are a million different versions of the character running around not immersive. I hope the main Elder Scrolls series remains single player. Skyrim is my second favorite ES game right behind Morrowind.

I'm not sure why people keep discussing the possibility of next main TES being an MMO? They already have a MMO. And Bethesda has created whole new studio for it - TESO is doing really well right now, but it took a bit to get there and considering the amount of resources that have to be put to create and maintain one, why would Beth do it again? It's not like MMOs sprout like mushrooms after rain anymore. We're past that trend.

I know Beth opened up a second studio last year. Recently they opened up a third in Austin, Texas. So any of them can handle The Elder Scrolls series and Fallout. While still working on new IP's. Pete Hines said that BGS wanted to explore creating new IP's.

Started Morrowind.
There's no quest markers. Mind blown.

Started Morrowind. There's no quest markers. Mind blown. Yep. this is old school no hand holding. If you tak to everyone in Seyda Neen they will tell you where to go and how to get there. They also tell you what items are useful and places to avoid. The officer who gives you the package tells you where you need to go. You just have to remember this is a slow paced game. It is meant to walk and take in the scenery. Talking about walking always do that do not run. Running drains your fatigue which influences your hit and casting ratio's. Also make one of your weapon skills a major so you have a better chance to hit.
