I don't think the Darkspawn/ Archdemon are too much of a world-ending threat due to there being Wardens eventually killing an Archdemon. Yeah, it's a threat... but a threat that was ended multiple times in the past. The real issue would be what happens in a world without Archdemons?
DA2 introduced red lyrium, but it was mostly a Mage-Templar issue. It was more or less limited to Kirkwall.
But I do agree that after dealing with Ancient Elvhen "god" such as Solas ... I'm not sure what can top that. I guess it's safe to say that Solas' actions will give rise to a much greater threat. Especially since it was hinted that there are more dangerous/powerful beings beings than Elgar'nan and Mythal.
There was a great war that the Evanuris was known for and according to dalish myths Elgar'nan warred with the "Sun" who destroyed all life for his jealousy. Maybe this "Sun" deity is what will be released due to Solas actions in DA4?
Then again, the whole Mage-Templar war was settled and set aside in order to focus on Corypheus. Maybe the Veil and Solas conflict will be settled midway in favor of a great threat?
Otherwise, I can't see DA lasting beyond a 5th installment
Although they can always pull an Andromeda and focus on the lands beyond Thedas

Actually, even with the existence of Wardens, the blight can still be a world ending cataclysm. Any number of Wardens can be killed before they can get close, dragging out a conflict that literally leaves a diseased wasteland in its wake.

Hakkon wasn't world devouring either. Would probably have done a fair bit of damage to Ferelden/Orlais, depending on which side of the Frostbacks they came down but it was stoppable by normal means. You didn't have to have the taint so the soul of Hakkon would jump to you instead of the nearest Avvar. You just had to be good at killing a big, bad, frost dragon. I disagree,Hakkon choosed the worst timing to threaten the world since he decided to cause issues at the same time of Zazikale,so Orlais had to face two dragon gods at the same time.

Any number of Wardens can be killed before they can get close, dragging out a conflict that literally leaves a diseased wasteland in its wake. That's not true. Remember, the wardens are small force. They're not meant to win a stand up fight with darkspawn. That honour goes to the meat shield non Gw forces. The First Blight - and really every blight thereafter, including DAO where you win at Denerim with 3 GWs (!!!!) The Blights are not world ending threats anymore since the defeat of the most powerful Archdemon(Dumat and Zazikale). All the others were defeated in a short period of time due to the improvement made by the Armies. The real threats for Thedas are The Qunari The Dread Wolf and the Evanuris he want to free The Intelligent Darkspawns
