I was trying to avoid spoilers after the Twitter thread debacle. I'm referring to Marius and Tessa from Magekiller, ie. the Inquisition's mostly-useless janitorial staff.

How is comic book characters from a comic released over a year ago? a spoiler? I don't find them especially interesting in the book though. I thought it was more providing backstory for Cory's Mage General, a sneak peak at Tevinter, and also discussing a different class of fighter. And even at that, it's not all that impressive as a class. Quick thinking, team work, experience, perhaps exceptional will power. I can't imagine they'd bring them over into the new comic when they could actually explore more content.

The synopsis of Issue 2 describes Charter making a deal to rescue some "captured associates." Nudge nudge. Wink wink.

I hope if Blandman shows up, he at least gets more interesting. A new facial expression, maybe? Anyway, I wonder why the templar is after Vaea.

The spoilers are in the synopsis of the upcoming comics, not the past comics. Regardless. I hope not. I have no curiosity about them at all... Maybe an associate could be Scout Harding! and someone else.

Well it could be something valid like she's been helping the mage underground or even has exhibited mage powers but is pretending to be something else. Alternatively, may be she stole something from the Order. Then again, in DAI the Templars apparently couldn't tell the difference between a mage staff and farming implement, so who knows?
Let's hope the story is original and it doesn't just end up going over old ground covered by the Inquisition again. I'd really like to see more of the Freemarches.

Blandman and Not-Cassandra only go where there are messes to clean up from previous protagonists. They're probably there to avert another qunari invasion, or the Meredith statue started waking around hitting people with Aveline's "DON'T" sign.

They're probably there to avert another qunari invasion, or the Meredith statue started waking around hitting people with Aveline's "DON'T" sign. I find that storyline quite comical. Would read. I'm also amused because it seemed like the one time I talked badly about the comic book Magekillers, people strongly disagreed with me.

Depends on when you made those comments. If you were talking smack about Issue 1 or 2, I could see myself defending it.
Issue 4 was when I realized Magekiller had nothing interesting to say, though really, things went off the rails in Issue 2.

Yes, the early issues looked promising and then it became boring as they just re-tread the same path as we had. It was so disappointing as there were plenty of war table missions that they could have been involved with that were just asking to be expanded on. The "Serpent of Nevarra" would have been an ideal candidate considering the alleged profession of the two protagonists and the origin of one of them. Then there was the whole business of the Venatori infiltrating Denerim or the "Belles of Hunters Fell" (although I think that one was dependent on recruiting Iron Bull - still the comic canon was that you did so). It was just really strange that the plot of Magekiller was so unoriginal for the majority of the series and had them dealing with issues that you knew had already been dealt with by your PC.

Issue 4 was when I realized Magekiller had nothing interesting to say, though really, things went off the rails in Issue 2. It was after all of them were out and compiled into one book. I read it last November. I was irritated for a couple reasons, one of them being they were very short and spent the beginning 2-4 pages of each sequel telling you want happened last time. Which made 6-12 pages total filler.

Well, I definitely would have told you not to bother with the trade. I didn't, and I own nearly every other DA comic and novel. (I don't have the very first comic either, which is so terrible it makes Magekiller look like Watchmen.)

On a comic-related note, I got a Marius the other day in Heroes of Dragon Age. Now, this is just a base model and his outfit will improve as he's upgraded, but LOOK AT THIS GENERIC FUCK. God, it's like boring me is his super power.

(Originally posted this reply in the Twitter thread but figured it makes more sense here instead.) Just watched the VOD and made a few notes about what I found interesting/noteworthy. Perhaps some of these were already known, but I haven't really been keeping up with KE's news. - The writers, Christina and Nunzio, were huge fans of the franchise before coming on board (always love hearing this from writers) and were "moved" by the characters and story
- Vaea and Ser Aaron were both created in their RPG campaign before being written for the comics
- Vaea grew up in an Alienage and this was a factor in her becoming a thief
- Ser Aaron has a traumatic past
- Sebastian will be in it
- Blood magic, the mage/templar war or red lyrium aren't tied to the plot
- The Inquisition has something to do with Vaea's story (Sounds like she may have stolen something from/for them? Not sure)
- No trips to the Fade

Neat! I like that the characters were based on their RPG campaign.
I did ask Nunzio if Knight Errant was a follow-up to Magekiller and he had this to say:
Nunzio DeFilippis @ndefilippis Knight Errant will stand alone but also serve as a follow-up to Magekiller. Cryptic, I know.

Also with any luck we are moving out of Kirkwall for a bit and on to Starkhaven, so Sebastian would be involved if only as someone else for her to annoy. Sebastian wasn't that bad a character. For a Chantry stalwart he was remarkably open minded when it came to chatting to people like Merrill. He was certainly a lot kinder towards her than either Anders or Fenris. In some ways it would be interesting to see how he has developed over the years but I dare say he will just be in the background with a small cameo appearance.
