I'll gladly replay DA2 5 times over than touch DAI ever again.

It's really hard to compare them. I enjoy them all, but for different reasons. For all the things that DA2 did to improve upon Origins, it dropped the ball on just as many. Inquisition was kinda the same. When you weigh everything out, I'd say they're pretty close to equal.

DA2 DAO DAI But I like all. Same. If we counted DAA, it'd be my most favorite.

Inquisition was kinda the same. When you weigh everything out, I'd say they're pretty close to equal. That's pretty much my opinion as well. It's why it can differ for me which one I'm in the mood to play when I'm not doing a new worldstate playthrough.

I voted DA2 > DAI > DAO. Despite DA2's problems, it has my favorite protagonist, the best relationships between companions, the most relatable villains, and the most relatable story. DAI beats DAO because DAI has fewer companions that annoy the crap out of me, and fewer extremely tedious areas that are unskippable.
I do like all three of them, though.

Inquisition is my favourite, but I find it difficult to choose between DAO and DA2. In the end I went DAI > DAO > DA2 because DAO succeeded at what it was trying to do better than DA2 did. (What DA2 attempted was more interesting, though, which is why I find it hard to rank them.)

DA2 was my just about my favourite because of the cast despite its flaws. Replayed it numerous times. I liked Origins a lot too despite issues with a silent protag. Least favourite by far is Inquisition. Tried to get into it repeatedly but find its highly restrictive protagaonist, grindy nature/lack of interesting side quests & unappealing cast of companions suck any willpower to continue from me.

DA2 is my favourite with DAI a close second. Never got into DAO as much but can't really say why that didn't grab as much as the others. I also kept getting killed far too easily in DAO and I was playing on easy/casual

DA2 > DAO/A and thanks, not interested in DAI, too much things I don't care for there. About the only thing I liked about the dai pitch is that you can play a Quinari, but not really a real one at that, and not in their actual land. The way people talk about companions and relationships feels uncomfortable for me, and I don't see a single one I like from the description. The ending of the DA2 did not get me into the I want to know what happens next mood. And all the talk about the various grinds like gathering, crafting, mob clean-ups and collect a million and three of mosaics or songs or what not brings on a MMO ptsd in me. I can't take a grind without friends. I also hear the plot is just okay anyway. And it's a europenian setting again. The graphics did not show the kind of improvements that would make it worth for the eye candy. Finally, MP mode seems to be way inferrior to ME3 and pretty much dead.
Now, if DAI was taking place among Quinari, and the companions were more like in Awakening/DA2, graphics was great, and mp was like Me3... yep, I'd play it.

DAO>DAI>>>DA2
I like DAI almost as much as DAO, but what made the difference here was the banter bug, which made me play in a paranoid way - running around for 10 minutes at the beginning of each play session, avoiding any story related quest until I got banter. In that case, proceed as normal. If not, try the various "fixes" that were in circulation back then, like fast traveling to Val Royeaux and what not, or give up and play in silence. In big zones. That took my enjoyment down a notch.
DA2, well... I never got into its story and actively avoided half of its companions. Which is sad, since I love personal stories. That one just wasn't for me.

I picked DAI>DAO>DA2, but honestly I feel DAO and DA2 are equally good and bad for very different reasons. So DAI>DA2=DAO, is closers to how I would rate all the games.

How is it that 39% of the voters found DAI better than DAO? Do you guys just have bad taste? I know it's bsn and so the crappy game gets more love here. Nonetheless it's pretty interesting that only 13% of voters rate the games like I do. They have good taste.

By Dragon Age standards, DA2 was awful. I liked the directionless structure of the plot, the freedom to headcanon provided by the unreliable narrator, and the herosexual romances (those were a tremendous innovation), but it did basically everything else badly.
DAI and DAO are both excellent. Today I said DAO was better. Sometimes I say DAI was better. But they're both vastly superior to DA2.
