I'm curious to see what Act 3 brings as well. It was originally pretty short, and I hear it's been fleshed out more.

Well, I've finished the most if not all of the Bastard's Wound area stuff and up through Act II, and I'm at around 40 hours. I hear the final act is short but we'll see, I guess. Granted, that still makes it shorter than any of the Dragon Age series. Of course, I'm still going to have to replay it three more times to see everything, so there's that, too, though. I'm also a little annoyed that at the end of Lantry's quest: The only way to toss out Lexeme's record as court evidence is to do it because Lantry wants to keep it to the truth. I wish you could reject it for effectively being perjury.

At what point does Bastard's Wound open up? Do you get a missive or some other sign?

I am on the third PT of DA2, and have not finished either Origins or DA3 the second time. I just don't like the stories that go on and on and on....

Hit a really weird bug. I went back to the end of act 2 because I hadn't finished Verse's quest (and over-wrote my save...of course), but now when I go to do the battle in the courtyard, my two Disfavored allies keep turning unfriendly halfway through the battle...while also retaining their invincible status. What the what?
If I end up having to start over again when I'm so close, I'mma be really mad.

If it does not fix itself with a travel reload and you are too far to rep, any, I can always upload a saved game for you, but I dunno if it's going to be much satisfying.

Whelp. On my third try, my allies didn't glitch. But I used a Fatebinder/Eb combo ability that left Lantry stuck in a status effect, and thus combat still couldn't end.
Fourth time...my allies changed sides again! But I finally figured out the cause. Apparently, if the named boss dies before his allies show up, the game assumes I was fighting the named ally instead, or something, because that's when they were switching.
Fifth time, with some very conservative use of magic to be absolutely sure, I finally finished it again.
Is there a *pulling my hair out* emoji?

I'm curious to see what Act 3 brings as well. It was originally pretty short, and I hear it's been fleshed out more. With BW content (companions' quests) it's two times longer, I think. Without it, I'd say, +10% (more dialogues). Though, I liked Act III as it was in v.1.0.x. About Sage L.'s missive, in v.1.2.d there was a bug, where you didn't receive the said missive. It was fixed in v.1.2.0.0121. The region becomes available after you read the missive (responding is optional).

And so I finished my first time through the game.
Overall, it was a lotta fun. Neither story nor gameplay felt grindy...I took 45 hours to play through the whole thing plus most of the DLC content. The end did feel a bit...sudden; of the three acts, I spent 8 on Act 1, 8 or so on Bastard's Wound, a whopping 25 on Act 2, but the final act was only about 2-3. Some of that was also me going back and always having to make sure my spell choices were perfect, and my obsessive need to exhaust all dialogue. Still, it never felt rushed, nor like it was too drawn out. It was simply efficient.
The cast was great, too. The options available to the main character usually felt pretty versatile minus one or two little misgivings (and that's not bad, given how much there is to be done), and the companion cast was also tons of fun. I always know I've got a good cast when I can't bear to not be using anyone. And beyond that, even the supporting cast, I really enjoyed. All of the Archons had the sort of flair and character you'd expect from individuals of their station. Also, Fatebinder Calio. I would love to see more content with her.
On the negative side, there were a few things that bugged me, but not too much. The bug I mentioned earlier in this topic had me really frustrated and there were a few others that weren't game-breaking but were kind of annoying (apparently, even considering the "peaceful solution" with Nerat at the end will result in the game branding you a traitor to Ashe, even if you never pick the "Betray" option and kill Nerat anyway...luckily I had a save right before that to fall back on). Similarly, I didn't actually get Sirin's special upgraded headgear when it said I did for some reason (possibly because I had fully upgraded it already?). For the most part, though, these were few and far between. Honestly, the biggest annoyances in the ongoing game were: the number of Scarlet Chorus enemies who could Wound without killing, the uselessness of Camping Supplies versus Spire-resting (as I mentioned in a previous post), and sort of related to that, the overload of skills beyond what the quickbar could handle. I really would've liked a second row of easily visible abilities (or perhaps two separate ones, one for Talents, one for Spells); as it was, other than a couple very specific fights, I pretty much just ignored anything I couldn't put on my bar for easy management).
And now, I'm already ready to jump back in again and try a different route, though not sure which to do yet. I think I'm going to save Anarchist for last because I feel like it has the most potential for a "perfect" run, but I can't decide if I want to go to do Chorus or Rebel first between the two. I'm leaning towards Rebel, though, carrying over a couple of Rebel-y Artifacts and playing more "Warrior" style.

Yay for you! I did not get to play yesterday, but I have a day off on Thursday so hoping to finish the saga then.
My pick for the second PT is the Scarlet Chorus rather than Rebels because I want to know the two generals intimately before rebelling against them.

One from Voices of Nerat implying Verse was a spy for him. Another from Fatebinder Rhogalus about the nature of the Spires. We'll see if responding to either of these gets things moving. Edit: Hmm, poking around a little, it looks like it's supposed to trigger after completing the Blade Grave or Lethien's Crossing. I've only done Burning Library and Stone Sea. Guess I'm doing the long route to it

I can't recollect what I have completed by the time I got access to BW, sorry! I don't remember doing much in the Lethian before the Wound area, and I can't recall what Graves were...

I just finished the game after 32h and i really liked it! I found the story interesting, i liked the characters and the combat was fun to play (i specially liked the companion combat combos and the mage spells) My character was a war mage, proficient in shock spells and dual wielding, i chose the Disfavored path and my favorite companions were Barik, Verse and Lantry. I had a lot of fun so i`m planning on starting a new playthrough tomorrow and this time i think i will play an archer and choose the Rebel path.

(Cries) Barik's romance did not trigger for me. I am trying to find any way to see what the variables are for it.
I guess, I will just have to stop this PT until I know how to trigger the romance.

So, I did a little soul-searching and decided that I certainly do not play Obsidian games for romance, got up early and finished my first play-through. I clocked at 48.6 hrs, but I bet some of it was creating a Scarlet Chorus character for Verse-Sirin and Lantry party. Really enjoyed completing the companions quests. To my surprise, I was able to convince Tunon during my trial to become my subordinate. I did not expect that. But, I certainly had to kill Bleden Mark, which I fully expected anyway. Epiologues were neat, touching up on all the descisions I have made with some good and some bad outcomes. Thanks for recommending the game, good folks, it was much fun to play. Going to try to finish DA3, and then will see if I want a SC run right away or wait a little longer.

So Barik and Verse's personal quests just kinda...ended.
Do they pick up again in Act 3 or something?
