Simple title, gargantuan possible disagreement. Fascinating never the less: what defines the “best” for each and every single one of us? So, what are in your experience (or for your preference), the fire arms which “clicked” best with the Ryder you’re playing with in Andromeda? What are your insights on them?
For Nikolai Ryder, wandering vanguard with a particular penchant for explosions, the Crusader has always been his to go weapon, because it offered from the start everything he wished from a boomstick, without compromising range or damage. The only enigma for Nikolai was to decide on what weapon was “best” to accompany the Crusader. For a time, SR seemed the answer: because Crusader’s slug magically drop on the longest range, an item to reach out in the distance was necessary. Both the Angaran SR and the Black Widow were tested at level V, and while they both worked as intended they really never “fit” with Nikolai. SR on a Vanguard seemed… improper. Or rude. In short, they lacked some appeal for a Vanguard like Nikolai. Then, the good boy focused on HP. And when he discovered that the Ushior (angaran heavy pistol) did more damage on level V than a Black Widow, his interested was quite picked. On Kadara, it was love at first bullet. The Ushior is the bigger, meaner brother of the Executioner from the Milky Way: while one shot sized clip, the damage it inflicts is pure glee. With a barrel big enough to fit a Salarian fist (or a Krogan… finger), the Ushior humiliates Remnant Destroyer’s as expansive tin cans on legs. It’s an elegant weapon not even lightsabers could deflect: too much kinetic energy. And you have to respect a species who uses a pistol able to punch through starships’ hulls, from one side to the other: do not shoot with it at the ground though. You may reach the magma in the planetary mantel. I suggest “fast recharge” in the pistol ability tree, to add more sustained damage. In any case, I think the Ushior benefit every vanguard who need a ranged weapon, for those situations where our shotguns don’t reach.
TLDR; Vanguard + Crusader + Ushior (angaran heavy pistol) = PROFIT!!
Also, do you think Falcon + Equalizer are good for an Engineer? And what is for a Soldier?

The sidewinder. I almost never carry a pistol so I was surprised that it's become my go to gun.

Valkyrie and Hurricane on my sentinel. I might add the Sidewinder later.

I made a carnifex pistol with the vintage heat sink and didn't use another weapon for the whole game. It has a slow rate of fire and limited ammo capacity (or heat threshold in my case) but it hits like a truck.
I love that damn pistol.
Edit: I was running an infiltrator profile and only bothered with one weapon and then used cloak, energy drain, and flamethrower. It covered every situation I was in rather well and I thought it was pretty fun to use (different kind of fun than picking people up with biotics and launching them into other people...but still fun)

I'm very partial to the revenant with a whole bunch of accuracy boosts.
Also, PAW with electricity augment and Isharay with vintage augment.

I'm still using my Pathfinder Pioneer with Vintage Heatsink and it gives off electrical damage, and a Carnifex with grenade rounds. Man I love that pistol. Fiends don't know what hit them.
I'm definitely going to make me a Sidewinder though.

The Black Widow returns in Andromeda as one of the best rifles in the game no doubt.
I'm a big fan of the Eagle too though. That thing was kinda useless in ME3, but it's performing quite well in Andromeda.

That thing was kinda useless in ME3, but it's performing quite well in Andromeda. Black Widow is very good, upgraded Valiant is also worth looking at, fires faster, weighs less although that becomes less of an issue as time goes on, good punch and more ammo. Carnifex pistol is slow but very efficient, I prefer it but thats probably because it fits my shooting style. Valkyrie is neat and a good allrounder, I think, might not be the best but by no means the worst either.

Might do a Soldier and go for a build revolving around that.

My Ryder is a soldier "with extra toys." By that, I mean I'm running a tech/biotic power build (energy drain/incinerate/throw) but with a heavier focus on weapons than alot of "caster" classes.
She picked her weapon loadout carefully, for any situation she may find herself in. For long range engagements, she first looked at the various sniper rifles available, but their weight and slow rate of fire made her decide to look elsewhere. Then she saw the Sandstorm, a semi-auto assault rifle with an integral scope and respectable stopping power in a fairly lightweight package. The perfect DMR.
For closer range, CQB environments, however, the integral scope made the Sandstorm less practical, so she looked for alternatives. The Hornet SMG fits the bill quite nicely. Small and compact enough for close quarters, but pretty hefty punch considering the rate of fire, plus the fact that it reminded her very strongly of a vintage Vector SMG from Earth's history, the Hornet quickly became her "go-to" all purpose weapon.
One simply does not explore Andromeda's dangerous territories without a hand cannon, however. So for a "backup" weapon, and for those times when she needs to punch lots of large holes in armor, she turned to the Sidewinder. Again, the "six-shooter" aesthetic appealed to her, since it was reminiscent of time-honored hand cannons of ages past.
(tl:dr Sandstorm, Hornet and Sidewinder - any range, any situation, the right tool for the job)

The N7 crusader shotgun. I'm not even a big shotgun fan and there is nothing fancy about this gun, it looks like a 2x4 and all it does is putting big chunks of metal into people, but it does this so well and with so much power its hard not to...love this gun for its no-bullshit design. It offers single-shot sniper rifle stopping power with fast follow up shots and lots of ammo. A tricked out crusader has become my go-to weapon for all situation but long range engagements.

The Mattock is my personal favourite, takes me back to Mass Effect 2 as well which is always a good thing.
Miss the Harrier though.

It says something for the design and balance of the weapons that so many people prefer so many different weapons.
All in all, the whole gameplay aspect of andromeda has been done very well.

Dhan. This basketball shooting shotgun wrecks. I also like the Ushior with the bio-converter aug. Seconded. This thing is a beast even with the small clip size. I use it on my pure Adept build with about 10 points into shotguns. Makes quick work of most enemies.

Currently, I am going with a Black Widow because, well, head shot kills. Also carry a Sweeper AR for more close combat situations (and because I don't want to deal with ammo). The Sweeper is decent and it gets a bonus because Remnant gear is cool but I feel like those energy projectiles are very slow moving (especially if you want to go for accuracy, enemies will move before your head shot hits the target). Any suggestions on fun assault rifles?

Playing on insanity as an Adept I'm honestly finding most guns to not be all that good, mostly because the game's SP seems to be balanced around everything being weak and then your passives and profile boosting it up into being good and I'm not boosting weapon damage at all.
As a result I'm sticking with my Sweeper because it does okay damage, is light enough to maintain 100% recharge speed, and wont run itself out of ammo before it's done anything worthwhile. The Valkyrie was also a solid option, and I've kept my Carnifex as a backup weapon pretty much throughout the entire game.
