Managed to squeeze in three games of baseball. First one I played after I got stuck in ACOD (see my long rant on the subject in the thread). 1-0 against the Rays. Chris Sale pitched 7.2 very solid innings. Only gave up 3 hits and none of them came around to score while striking out 12. Sadly the Rays pitcher was on a similar groove. He gave up only one run and that was an RBI double by JD Martinez. Bennintendi was on first and I sent him all the way around, play at the plate because I figured 'well I am having a hard time scoring so might as well'...and that was the only run of the game. So it worked out.
Next two games I won 4-3 and 4-2. JD Martines now has a 35 game hitting streak and Kimbrel now as thirty eight saves. Moreland drove in four of those eight runs.

Me and a mate have been playing Borderlands 2. We played through the entirety of Borderlands 1 when it came out - I played as Lilith and had immense fun runnig in and making everything explode in fire. It was really good fun.
So seeing Borderlands 2 was cheap, we got hat and had a try. Remembering all the fun I had with Lilith all those years ago, i again chose the Siren class:
And...
Well. A big pile of meh. Either we have got very old in the intervening years or something but good lord we're bored. Problems:
- It's not funny. At all. I don't think I have even smiled once at all the oh so zany characters they've created. Even the old ones fall flat. It feels so try hard and desperate. It's all so obvious you can see the jokes coming a mile off. Actually beginning to dread cutscenes
- The levelling is painfully slow, which is a problem because the abilities are so dragged out in each tree to get anywhere near something vaguely interesting takes forever. it just feels so grindy. Grind grind grind. We did a huge section last night and I looked at the levelling bar and it had move about a quarter of the way. Ugh
- The power for the Siren is shit. It's basically Singularity from Mass Effect but given that's the only power its bollocks on it's own. I actually keep forgetting to use it
- Wooo! Lot's of guns.. except they are mostly junk and even those you get are maily just stat increases. Oh, another 50 damage!Whoop de fucking whoo. Let's sink another 20 clips (because only 6 rounds per clip, folks!) into the next bullet sponge
- There is no point having money in the game. I've got $69k and noting to spend it on, as all the stores just sell shit that is inferior to what I find
- We spend so much time just bouncing from point to point on fetch quests across same looking landscapes i can't even tell one from another. It was a relief to find the bit under oasis with a bit of green. You could cut the travel down by half easily
- The story just isn't interesting. At all. Even the main villain isn't interesting, and the lack of world setting and explanation just removes any motivation
- Whoever did the vehicle handling (let's steer with mouse aim! Yeah!) needs to en taken out and shot
I could go on. It's just as well I only spend a £5 on it to be honest. We've had enough of it, and are now waiting for the new Wolfenstein for some co-op fun.
What a disappointment, we only persevered in the hope something would click suddenly.

I haven't played a game for a lot of days. Has it even been weeks?
Anyway, started Civ V and loaded an old abandoned game. England, in which I had had a really bad start, got jumped by Suleiman and lost my critical city (2X luxuries + iron) plus a handful of units. I figured I would see if I could dig myself out of the hole. Desert, no luxuries, no happiness, no religion, no culture, no iron, no money.
Well, it was a painful 'Next Turn' grind, trying to get my kingdom back on the feet. So long time for basic fixes, all while the rest of the world rushes onward.
...But I think I've done it. I figured I'd go for Petra (my London is a desert city) and if I get that wonder I'll keep playing, otherwise new game. Petra happened, and I focused on the Tradition tree and managed to get some happiness going. I have to be lagging behind and Russia is unfortunately on the same continent. But we'll see. I think I will have vengeance on Suleiman eventually.

Played one of the most intense games of the season so far against the Yankees. 2-1. Me versus Gio Gonzalez. I got into a lot of trouble early giving up a walk and 3 hits early. Top of the 1st gave up a walk and a double early putting runners on 2nd and third with no outs. Struck out the side. Next inning single, double, the guy scored from first 1-0 Yankees. Mookie Betts tied the game on a double which I think scored Sandy Leon. JD Martinex didn't get a hit until the eighth inning to continue his hitting streak. And I did not give up another hit till the sixth...which I stranded him and then a walk in the seventh...which I stranded him so only allowed one earned with 12 strikeouts and 2 walks. So to the bullpen and Eovaldi pitched 2 very solid innings to get the win. Stayed tied all the way to the bottom of the ninth where they hit Chavis with a pitch. Then in a moment out of Red Sox lore I stole second with him and then Leon drove him home with a single right up the gut. Leon led the way collecting three hits. I just don't know...I am really having bad offensive luck lately.

Reaching the new area in Divine Divinity 2 the most Original of Sins left me kinda overwhelmed so been leaving it on ice for now.
Ended up googling how to get past my roadblock in The Next Big Thing. I swear I used every other item on that damn blackboard. Gosh darn it... Granted I had been looking at the image I needed the answer to and it kinda looked like a chemical reaction so I though I had to force a fellow to chug some spray cans. So like...that's kinda an excuse. Either way got interrupted twice while trying to watch the next cutscene so decided to call it a day.
Sped ran through some iteration of Cinders. It was pretty fun. Got all the achivo's and maxed out the possibilities for two ends. Just missing four more iterations for the other two, which are doable but not sure if bother-able. Mostly because I'll probably end up uninstalling the game and don't know how to keep the little reward section saved, so I'd have to do that all again. So while the differences in endings are super neat, it would be a bit too much work for just a few dialog changes. But on the other hand, the game is super fun. So leaving the decision on ice for now.
But all in all fun times.

A lot of what you are talking about is my recent experience with the game and I already had around 100 hours in it. I am thinking that there is a very large combination of factors involved and I think part of it is always personal taste. For me I think it was that the friends I played it with when it first came out have all moved onto other games and I was left playing the new DLC solo. The other thing I think for me is that there are so many other games that are in the same market now that I have had more fun with something similar so going back a lot of the internal reasoning I made for continuing to play don't work. I did finish up the new DLC and its was like a lot of the game being "okay". In the end though I have deleted the game from my computer and my Steam backup from my removable hard drive for I cannot see myself ever going back to the game.

AC Syndicate
I think I ran into a bug. I've running into a couple of these that mostly say to tackle a target, then said target will yield information about the objective. The targets said nothing at all. Only in one re-run did one said anything.
Now I've to tackle some spy after listening in to a secret meeting between the prime minister and Mr B. I ran after the spy, tackle him and he stood there like a dummy. I've tried this five times after trying to fight him and shooting him. It's impossible to get anything out of the spy. I don't think I can finish this game.

AC Syndicate I went to read up that particular mission and it's so dumb; the spy must be allowed to run to the edge of the zone so that he will be shot during the conversation. If he's not in that area, he's a dummy who does nothing. Anyway, I did that and the cutscene kicked in. I finished up the main story I think; getting the shroud and killing Starrick. After that, it's Queen Victoria's memories. I didn't see any marker for Jack the Ripper DLC. Edit. I'm guessing I've finished everything. I did all of the Queen's quest, saw Henry Green who proposed to Evie. After that, I checked the map, no special icons. Just a bunch of cargo hijacks etc. But progression log said 88% completed so I'm guessing it could have something to do with racing and fist fights which I never bother with. I checked and I apparently do not have the Jack the Ripper DLC. In fact, none of the other DLCs so I guess I'm really done. But it is kind of weird because Jacob and Evie were in London without sanction by the Assassin high-ups. I was expecting somebody to turn up and reprimand them or something.

ACOD As I finished the main story in the last PT, I chose to do another NG+ just to get Kass up to 99. She just has another four levels to go. So the Atlantis DLC wouldn't be completed any time soon. It's just as well I feel since I can't remember having any prospective titles on my list till next year. Will have to drop in daily on Twitch to see what's new. I got Kass to Megaris, saving the brother of the carpenter along the way. During the cutscene, he said his piece and died. When the cutscene ended, he died again dramatically, flopping his feet up into the air. I stopped there and decided to roam YT for a while. Incidentally decided to look up the videos I've loaded years ago and, nostalgia.
Bounce the rogue spectre
Some ME3 MP gameplay. I'm the jug.
This was 2016
2016 This fight drove me nuts, a later glitch wasn't helpful at all. I stopped playing this stage until it was fixed.

I let Civ V rest and continued my second play of Egypt: The old Kingdom.
I'm rapidly learning and understanding the economy of this game. I spectacularly managed to unify all of Egypt and colonize every slot, and built lots and lots of tombs. All of that is expensive, but I've figured it out.
And well, it's kinda boring. I hope to get to build the large Giza pyramids of the fourth dynasty, but we'll see how that goes. It seems I've missed the option, somehow, which could be because my game-options don't include historical events. I dunno.
The game has very little replay value, once you get the hang of it.

Obsidian Gryphon Neither of the dlc made them face any conciquences either so I just figured they let it slide. Kinda get the egg on their face if the other Assassins knew that they punished the people who took London back, got an Isu artifact and curried favor with the queen. And why risk retaliation when you can keep things chill and reap the benefits. So just pull the Qunari and say it was all acording to plan. --- Yesterday was DD2:OS Used my noggin to cross a river. Or well remembered what game I was playing and tried using the pyramid to do what Teleport and Tactical Retreat could not. Also remembered that I had to put it down on the ground to toss it. So might have gotten the idea before but forgot that you can't chuck things out of your backpack :/ Either way saved a lady who seems destined for death by the number of times you could warn her and her brood to be careful when they left. Hooked up a turtle and rat, paving the way for Divine Divinity Impossible Creatures in the future. Nice. Also met Ryker. And I did nat hit you Ryker, I did naaaaat. But granted recent dietary choices might have made her breath resemble and assault so... Got a pet bird and all I had to do was to chow on some kidneys. Niiiiice. Then the game went to the dogs and I decided to call it quits for the day. Today I finished The Next Big Thing. All in all it was alright. Got a few chuckles out of it. Had to google solutions 5 times but otherwise got through it on my own. Only had two really annoying puzzles (the Hieroglyphs- damn you out of the box thinking!!! And the Orchestra- because that was broken. 6/10 there wouldn't even be sound on 3 of the instruments so it was not only finicky timing but then a guessing game as well D:) but the others were fine. Mostly got tripped up on not having hotspots and thus not realizing that that little bit of screen could in fact be clicked. Even got real lucky on one of them and just clicked on the answers while trying to look around. That was nice. Story was fine. The weird bits could be pretty fun but in the end I was more rooting for the bad guy, since he had more charisma than any of them. But all in all it was fine. Ended up also playing Session Seven and finishing it. It was quite fun. Or well, it was sad and kinda scary but decent to play. And it's free. Finished it in about an hour. There are three endings, but I was quite fine with the one I got so not going to replay for the other ones. But still, would recommend. So all in all good times.

Witcher 1
Not sure when I last played and can't remember all I did anyway but, one thing I do remember is letting Gramps live.....for now.....and getting a potion recipe out of it. I thought for sure his stew pot would be where I'd find the missing swamp kid but he swore up and down he don' eat chillin's. (And you believed him. Really? )
Also hanging out in the swamp are the Flaming Rose knights and Yaevinn's band of merry trouble-makers. Think I'm going to not help either side this time since they both suck.
Geralt must have used his sneaky Witcher senses to ferret out Cpt Meis' innocence because I can't really recall anything happening that for sure cleared him. Anyway, I told him he was off the hook, then asked for a cemetery pass, which he was happy to provide (note, when I asked for the pass before saying he was clear, he told Geralt to shove off).
Explored the cemetery and the crypt, and found dead Raymond which then auto-cleared everyone else whether I'd talked to/accused them or not. I deliberately avoided talking to Kalkstein about it since you don't ever get to ask about stuff but just accuse by default, and then he won't talk to you until the end of the chapter.

Or maybe just an Armadillo: Seriously you'd think there would be an image somewhere on the net of a turtle with a rats head!!!!! A snapping turtle was the closestI could find!!!

So I decided to use an XP exploit to level up in Skyrim, so that I could battle the Legendary Dragon. An exploit that really mostly isn't one, it all comes down to the wonky levelling system. The exploit allows you to level the Alteration skill from the minimum 15 to the max 100 in about five seconds. Which yes that does sound like an exploit, but the mechanics involved are seen throughout in other skills, just not quite to that extreme. Whenever I would use Conjuration spells my Conjuration skill would never improve, until I started using the Bound Sword spell and then I started levelling Conjuration like crazy. Why does it matter what spells are used, they're all Conjuration spells, shouldn't it all count the same? But anyway, quirkiness of the level system aside I had fun. I've put 150hrs or so into the game and have done about all that I wanted too, I think its about time to move onto another game. The pockets of the villagers that dwell within Skyrim are safe again. Also, Skyrim's OST is surprisingly pretty decent. ^My fav ambient track. ^One of the best battle themes around in my opinion. Get's me every time. ^The main theme "Dragonborn" is the king tho. Re-watching that trailer is basically the reason I ended up giving Skyrim another go after all these years. Now that's a trailer!

I happened on Bryan Dechart's channel on YT. Who's he? He's the actor who played the role of Connor in Detroit Become Human. To my amusement, Amelia Rose Dechart who played the role of the android Traci was engaged to him and they're married. Both of them ended up playing the game last year. It's funny to watch Bryan playing Connor, in the same get up. With him reading all the dialogues and interacting with the other actors, I thought he knew the story. Apparently, he didn't. He only knew his role and a general idea of what may happen in certain scenes, not the story. ***** ACOD Did the exploration and clearing out the Athenians in Megaris. Going to give the Odessa quest a miss; I don't find it meaningful nor satisfactory.

That's a good question. I don't know, need to re-read the books. I'd be surprised if Sapkowski hadn't thought that through.

The elves were not the original inhabitants of the witcher world and it seemed that it was easier for them to travel between worlds before the conjunction of the spheres. The Ard Gaeth witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Ard_Gaeth seemed to have shut permanently after the conjunction and the elves lost their ability to travel. I never really thought about it, I think I just assumed that they were already able to wield magic before they even stepped foot on the witcher world. book quote spoiler So it was… We told ourselves, what’s the difference, we will stay here a little while, then there a little while, so what if the stupid Dh’oine insist on destroying themselves and the world? The elf smiled again, and blew his bubbles again, this time so that the straw formed a large cluster of smaller bubbles and joined to each other. ‘Then came the Conjunction,’ the elf raised his straw laden with bubbles. ‘The number of worlds increased. Finally finished the Portugal Empire! FeelsGoodMan! I couldn't stand more atomic bombs... AAAAAAAAAA! Specially since Kamehameha and Rameses are allies. So went after the weakling city states that were still at war with me! 17 out of 22 capitals controlled, my best result of the decade so far! Well I usually lose interest in world domination and go "pacifist" after turn 480!

If you are still interested in playing the game. Jack the Ripper DLC is not through a marker in the game, its a stand alone DLC that you access from the main menu on the PC its just below the Continue button. There is also another time period in the game where you jump through a rift on the Thames River and it takes you back to World War 1 (I can't remember exactly and I am not to the point where I have it unlocked, but Google-Fu says its the Far East side of the Thames almost to the edge of the map). As far as a reprimand them I think it would be silly to do so since the Brotherhood was afraid of the Templars in London and the three of them broke the 100 year stronghold.

Question on Witcher-verse history... slimgrin727
The Conjunction of the Spheres brought magic to the world, but elves were already living there. So, didn't elves have magic before the Conjunction? Because, it seems weird they'd have the ability to travel through time and space and NOT have magic.
EDIT: I need to re-read the books too. The world hopping elf shenanigans confused me. I checked with a lore geek and you're basically right. The elves not being from the continent already knew how to use magic. Humans didn't get the ability until the conjuncion.

I don't have the Jack the Ripper DLC. Not buying it either. Oh I think a reprimand is in order, along with grudging admission / praise for what they did. Something, anything, not silence. Nothing on the leaders of the group in that time, nothing on the status of the Assassins except that they're too weak / bad leadership that they couldn't go up against the Templars in London. I'm pretty much done with the game since I finished up the main story so I've already uninstalled it.

I actually liked that part and the assassin you play, Lydia. assassinscreed.fandom.com/wiki/Lydia_Frye I also liked the Jack The Ripper DLC it was quite dark and I sucked at the final battle but I thought it was really well done in terms of feel, the maps and the characters.
