Witcher 1
Next up will be locating and getting to Salamandra's main base. I think this the kikimore nest where you have to dance through the tunnels while escaping the queen? So bummed she gets to kill the Professor instead of me.
I hate that quest in the kikkimore Nest, first time it took me so many attempts to get through it!!!!! Re Yaevinn I believe he's at Golan Vivaldi's house in the Temple Quarter but I think that's only if you supported him in the bank robbery. Oh and yeah that really annoyed me about Radovid in TW3????

Decided in the end to remake my Fire Emblem Awakening playthrough, and I'm currently at the first chapter after having done the prologue ^ my Avatar (made using the sprite sheets found on the internet) + Stat = Magic - Stat = Speed
She was able to nab her first level up last night by killing the boss of the Prologue chapter
I plan to level her to level 10 for the skill, then to Grandmaster once I have a master seal (though generally I tend to safe up the master seals to level up Lissa and Maribelle first to make them less squishy) Grandmaster to level 15 for the class skills, then to Sorcerer 'till level 5, and then to Dark Knight as her end class in the past I also had her be a Dark Flier for a while in order to gain Galeforce, but there are so many characters that can already gain the skill and seeing as I play on casual it's a bit overkill to have Galeforce on so many characters (does make the longer chapters a bit easier though)

Re Yaevinn I believe he's at Golan Vivaldi's house in the Temple Quarter but I think that's only if you supported him in the bank robbery That makes sense. I assume Yaevinn was trying to get the bank back for Vivaldi so the latter will 1. have reason to support him and 2. have the means to do so. Never thought about it like that before. But, I didn't support him during the robbery so I've no idea where he is. I didn't check Vivaldi's place though, so he might be there regardless.

So yesterday continued my Crysis journey and started Crysis 2. Man I can't believe how much I have forgotten of this game, found myself falling into traps with regards to enemies and maps and then going Oh that's right!!!! So anyway that meant a lot of combat rather than the stealth approach I usually try which was fun anyway. Game doesn't seem to be dropping Sniper Rifles which I really could have used on a couple of occasions already but did have some fun throwing grenades and blowing up fuel containers to take out enemies. Also had fun "power kicking" cars off car park rooves on to enemies!!!!! So game starts in a submarine with a squad of Force Recon Commandos/Marines (?) going to extract a Dr. Nathan Gould from NY, he's a friend of Prophets (the squad commander from Crysis 1) and who is an expert on the aliens. Anyway things go pear shaped and the submarine gets attacked in NY Harbour and a lone Commando/Marine "Alcatraz" is rescued by Prophet. Prophet has discovered that the Nano-Suit is actually "symbiotic" and is slowly melding with his body and so he removes it and puts it on Alcatraz (who is pretty much dead) and tells him to go find Gould. Then Prophet shoots himself to stop the "infection. NY is over run by the aliens who have introduced a biological agent that causes humans to basically rot and die. An organisation called CELL is policing the city and trying to cure and cull the infected with a primary goal to eliminate Prophet as they are basically trying to eliminate the Nano-Suits. So got through the first three areas (damn checkpoint games) without too much trouble and up to the point of helping Gould by obtaining a DNA sample of the aliens to try and create a cure. Got my first speeding fine for running through a traffic camera too fast picked up some collectible souvenirs and found my first set of collectible car keys. Pic's Uh oh sub going down When Aliens attack and Prophet to the rescue Prophet shoots himself Hello NY All the vending machines, cash machines, radios, computers etc all work in the game its kinda cool. Alcatraz withdraws some cash: Dead CELL troops Dead Alien Souvenir Collectible

Witcher 1
Finished up chapter 3 by taking out the Professor and the kikimore queen, only to get cornered by Adda and then teleported away in the nick of time by Triss.
Unlike last time where I had to fight guards because I killed Vincent the werewolf, this time Vincent and his men helped Geralt out when he got ambushed by Salamandra at the inn on the way to his (not so) secret meeting. Oh, I can't wait to give that twat de Wett a what-for!
The teleport bubble dropped Geralt in bufu nowhere, which just happened to be the same bufu nowhere that assumed-dead Berengar was hanging out in. How convenient! Chatted him up - what a grump! - then sailed across the lake to meet the Lady of the Lake (um, is she supposed to be Nimue from the books???).
Next headed to the town of Murky Waters to figure out a way to get the humans and the vodyanoi to live together peacefully. The vodyan priest has apparently disappeared in the meantime.
Met Dandelion on the way to town, who mentioned Alvin being cared for by the mayor's daughter. I'm not sure how Alvin ended up here - I mean, he apparently teleported himself but, why here?! Will have to check in on him as well.

In New Vegas:
So I am really going to hate the mini map/ compass and the quest journal in this game. Oh boy its a mess. No indication of who has a new quest, just circling and trying to figure out where a quest objective is or if its that character sitting outside the building or in the building itself...OR the quest objective pointing to some random lady but its ACTUALLY in the safe behind her. And the quest journal...gone is the safe comforting partioning of quests...everything is just a mess in the same place. I miss modern game play design and conventions. Sure exploration and talking to people *shivers*...just spoon feed me. Its causing some friction over here since its my wife's big nostalgia game.
Despite this I thought I was enjoying myself and was having a good fine. This game does have personality...the combat is interesting and seems to actually be tighter then FO 4 and...well there was one area in this one quest where you are traveling around in this factory and its dark and shit and there are ghouls in it. Perfect environment, the lighting was perfect. Then I figured out that the pip boy had a flash light...but then that quest in question took me 2 hours. Some ghouls needed help going onn their great journey, by launching ships to...presumably the moon. But then they needed help with some Super Mutants. Then there was this ghoul named Harland who distracted me by looking for his hot ghoul lady and then I thought it was over but OH NO the rocket ship needs materials...and here I was thinking that the game would do something neat and unique and 'Chris' was going to get one of them and I the other but then I returned and Chris was all like...great now get the other other thing...so I had to go BACK OUT and get the other thing. The end was neat though but the problems with the minimap and everything else I just kept getting lost and going around in circles. I'm so hopeless but six hours in and I am almost ready to go onto Andromeda...
But I will try and persevere.
Because I am enjoying myself. I think. Probably my luck next time I will get ten quests done and be having a blast.
In MLB the Show:
6 games. Five and One. The one was painful since Kimbrel gave up a two run home run in the ninth to secure said L 3-2. Also Stephen Strasburg had another game blown when Andrew Miller gave up a gome run in the eighth to blow that save but I still was able to win that one. I did beat the Padres 8-1 then 3-0 then 5-3. And Matrinez's hitting streak is over at 58 games. It was an honor.

POE II Deadfire Decided to put ACOD aside for a while since I finish the family story, Medusa can wait. Kass made it to the top of S-tier 4, courtesy of the bounty Kleon put on her. I just wait for everyone to show up. For Deadfire, I'm playing this again because I heard changes were made in the last patch. I decided to go with a paladin this time. I made a Ranger for the first PT, then a fighter for the second. For race, I went for elf in the first PT, human in the second. I decided to stick with human again. All protags are females. Although I have all the DLCs, I'm not sure I'll be playing them because they're all basically dungeon crawling. I would play them if they advance the story of the Watcher which meant the devs have to pick a canon ending. Deadfire essentially ended with the Watcher sailing away (with LI if there's one) and all the companions scattered to their own lives. Of the romance interest, there's only one I consider worth pursuing but he's a bloody hard case to kick off and I've never succeeded in the last two PTs. Moreover, I read that he's kind of glitched and a mod can unstuck him. I've no idea if they un-glitch him in the last patch.

last night in Fire Emblem Awakening we made it past the first chapter, meeting "Marth", and gaining two new units; Cavalier Sully and Archer Virion (gotta love their introduction ) Mystra got to level 3
both Lissa and Chrom got to level 2 poor Frederick didn't gain a level up (that's what you get for being a pre-promoted class )
almost "lost" Lissa this chapter, she only had 3hp left by the end of the chapter because I was so stupid to move her into a hot zone to heal Sully as I said above, that's the main reason I always safe up the first two master seals for my healers
The chapter ended with the group arriving back in the capital and Mystra meeting with Exalt Emmeryn...finding out Chrom and Lissa were her siblings and therefore royalty Mystra: whut? Frederick: *laughing* you remember Chrom's name but not this? Mystra: ...you said you were "Shepherds" Chrom: so we are, we just have a lot of sheep
so yeah, next chapter we'll be heading toward Regna Ferox to ask the Khan's for help against the zombie Risen threat and we'll also gain a few more units then, yay
so far (together with my Avatar (tactician) we have five units (Chrom (lord), Lissa (cleric), Frederick (pre-promoted great knight), Sully (cavalier) and Virion (archer) in the next chapter we'll gain 3 more units (Stahl (another cavalier), Vaike (fighter) and Miriel (mage)

For a long time I thought "Fire Emblem" games are fire station sims Going just by the title, since I never looked further.
So, Crysis 2. The game really pushes me into a Predator style stalking and stealthing. Just as I got the hang of the soldiers, the aliens showed up. Always very mobile, always in large groups and can really hurt you if try to be a gung-ho. I need bigger guns... And the new enemy spawning system starts to annoy me. They just materialize out of thin air, sometimes right in front of you. I started to stealth when listening to the scripted dialogue since it often leads to new enemy spawns. I wonder why Alcatraz is silent. At the med scan they didn't bring up any injury that could lead to a speech problem. Then again, the suit doesn't shut the fuck up "Nanovision enabled"...dude, I enabled and disabled it 2 seconds ago and now you catch up to inform me? Stop downloading mecha porn, it only lags your processor. It kinda reminds of me of Titanfall 2 and how the suit and the pilot were engaging in dialogue with each other. Woule have been nice to see the same here. Instead Alcatraz is pushed around by just about everyone, including the suit. All we miss is Bioshsock's "would you kindly", lol.

though Bioware currently has a (evil) wolf/dragon god hell bend on destroying the world
in the title I'm currently playing (Fire Emblem Awakening) you're the *spoilers* vessel of an evil dragon god (called Grima) ...but you don't find out about that until half-way in the game and naturally you start the game with amnesia, 'cause why not?

Nope, never played anything beyond Crysis 1 and I finished that one to the end just few days ago. But from all that has happened so far and from the deep tissue scan during which the technician basically went "how is he even alive with those injuries"...well, a picture was painted. It's suspect that Alcatraz is in any control since the start. The plot kind of reminds me of how Prototype 2 started and what the main character of Prototype 1 turned out to be.

sometimes you are the evil dragon god hell bend on destroying the world (or their offspring, or vessel) That's exclusive to Awakening. xD Although I heard something of Fire Emblem Fates but never played that one in most Fire Emblems you are Royalty, with a few (in this case two games) that start off as a mercenary. Also true, though I've only played Awakening and Fates so far (in Fates I've only finished Birthright, still need to do the other two routes (Conquest and Revelations)
I've also tried out Echoes but couldn't really find myself with playing Alm or Celica, I might try (and buy) it again in the future (I tell the person who has Alm as their avatar )
I really want Three Houses, but I currently have no money to buy a Switch (though I've heard rumors they're going to release a cheaper version somewhere in the future)
in Fates you're the offspring of a semi-evil dragon god hell bend on destroying the world in theory you're also royalty in Awakening...I mean, given who the avatar's dad is and all

in Fates you're the offspring of a semi-evil dragon god hell bend on destroying the world in theory you're also royalty in Awakening...I mean, given who the avatar's dad is and all The problem (or problems better said) with Echoes is that aside of taking time to start and obviously not being for all people as is a niche game, not catered for people that started with Awakening and well basically newcomers that are starting now. The other thing is (it's a common problem with all 3Ds Fire Emblems though) that the game improves quite a lot with the DLCs, it brings pre game background to a couple of characters and mostly what people like a lot this days, QoL improvements with grinding/farming units and so on. So yeah, you may get the game cheap but to fully experience all, you need to pay an extra of 45 buckets (in my country at least) That's some of the problems with Echoes, aside from some tit bits with the story that could've been done better. If you don't care much with graphics you should try Fire Emblem Blazing Sword, that was a popular Fire Emblem overseas.

The problem (or problems better said) with Echoes is that aside of taking time to start and obviously not being for all people as is a niche game, not catered for people that started with Awakening and well basically newcomers that are starting now. If you don't care much with graphics you should try Fire Emblem Blazing Sword, that was a popular Fire Emblem overseas. yeah I noticed that as well, I've yet to finish all of the dlc maps for Awakening (I believe I don't even own all of them yet)
with Awakening I also have a problem with the SpotPass units you can get, aside from Priam all of the others are characters that are well...supposed to be dead in the base game (Emmeryn, Gangrel etc.) I mean, even if they're from different time lines (like Yen'fay) it makes no sense for them to be recruit able even more so because they can only support with the Avatar and serve no function aside from that (that's my opinion anyway) would've been more interesting if they could support some of the others as well (Emmeryn with her siblings for example)
as for Blazing Sword, I live in Europe so I'm not even sure I can have access to that one in these parts (plus as I read on the wikia it's only available as a digital download on the WiiIU, and I don't have one of those either)

Yeah, some Awakening DLC are quite mind "boggling" to be honest.

Depends on the game but yeah, most are mostly things that should already be in game. and then there's EA...with Sims games...
Employee1: guys, our players want pets in the game, and seasons Employee2: make them into expansions Employee3: we need more money... Employee2: let's make game packs... and stuff packs Employee3: good idea Employee1: uhm...shouldn't this be a life simulator? What's with the aliens and stuff? Employee2: pssh, don't worry, they'll love it let's also add vampires and mermaids and stuff Employee1: *shrugs in defeat* well...alrighty then
me and my poor wallet: *sigh*
I mean seriously, seasons and pets should be in a base game, and all the jobs and stuff, I don't need to have like 30 expansions just to have a complete game with certain elements I won't even end up using but I'll have bought them anyway because "new stuff to build houses and dress your sims" and modders are even better at making stuff then the actual game makers, go figure
(to clarify, for Sims 1 I have about 3 expansions, Sims 2 I have complete with all expansions and stuff packs, Sims 3...all expansions, Sims 4...just base game for now...I'm learning )

Been playing Remnant: From the Ashes on the Xbox over the weekend. For being a smaller development studio this game plays much smoother than some triple A titles I've played recently.
It's a very fluid shooter, and the world building is well done. I find my self sitting down for a session and then finding that hours have passed when I glance at my watch. All the talk about this game being "Dark Souls, but with guns" is very true as enemies will wreck your character really quick if you don't pay attention and prepare for battles; though its not as needless punishing as the Souls series. If you die you just go back to a checkpoint and have to run through the map again, but you don't lose any item durability or anything like that. And I really like the setting that Remnant creates, but you really have to be willing to explore every nook and cranny to find it.
Needless to say I convinced my friends to get a copy as well and we've been exploring the post-apocolyptic wastelands together.
Only thing I can say against the game so far is I wish it had a Codex for all the enemies and background lore you unlock; I want to read about everything but there's no place to store all those collected lore tidbits once you find them.

Busy gaming week last week.
Tried the new Beyond Update for No Man's Sky in VR. Controls are really good and intuitive. You grab your Multitool from your back, switch your scanner on by touching your helmet and menus are mostly accessed through an Omnitool-style interface on your left glove. Ship controls are also cool (though they take a little to get used to). Once you are in your ship, you basically have in front of you a virtual HOTAS, which you simply grab with the touch controllers. Then, you steer as if you were holding a real joystick and throttle. Took me a minute to figure out the translation properly but once you get the hang of it, it works pretty well. Unfortunately, performance is not good at all. When I landed at a random spot on a planet and started to move around, my framerate dropped to about 10 fps with my NVidia RTX 2070 (granted, with very high settings, so I'll have to try and reduce them, maybe get some tuning tips). Apparently with the new update they geared everything towards Vulcan graphics drivers, so AMD cards might actually have a significant advantage now (and keep in mind, this is VR, so double the rendering, performance should be much better on a monitor). Also hoping for some further patches/fixes that will improve this. Also, even though I only played a few minutes, I can already tell that - despite the fact that the game has been ported extremely well and with lot's of thought and attention to detail - this is not really a VR game for me. That's because it's such a slow game. I played it for over 100 hours already over the last couple of years in front of the monitor and the idea is to relax, sit there, build some stuff but basically it's this very zen-like experience. This is not what I am looking for when I stand there in the middle of the room with the Oculus strapped to my face. When I do that, I need more action and more things actually happening. Just having the VR goggles on alone is already too stressfull for me to play such a relaxation-oriented game. But still, kudos to the devs for porting it in such a thought out manner. Then, I tried Sekiro: Shadows die Twice, also just for a few minutes for now (found it in the library of a friend I set up family share lately). Pretty cool actually. It feels pretty crisp and well paced for a From Software game so far. But I am barely past the tutorial, so I am sure the hard stuff would come soon enough. The Japanese style is not really that much of my thing but one cannot deny that the game has a lot of atmosphere. Will definitely keep going, even though it might take a bit before I get back to it. Lastly, I got Rebel Galaxy: Outlaw (I know, Epic Store, but whatever). Really great atmosphere and style. Basically, Wild West in space (think Firefly, dialed up to eleven). The soundtrack is awesome, rock and country radio stations with over 24 hours of licensed music. And don't worry, I am not a country fan by any means but in this case, it just fits so perfectly, it's great. If you absolutely can't stand that kind of music, you can also import your own into the game, which is always a great feature IMO. In terms of gameplay, RGO reminds me very much of games like Freelancer or (most close) Darkstar One. Basically, you follow the story (you play a woman who is hunting her husband's murderer but lost her ship and thus has to get into shady deals with even more shady people to get back on her feet(. In order to be able to do missions, you'd better upgrade your ship and equipment between mission, so you do side stuff like trading, bounty hunting or pirating to earn money. It's all pretty fast paced, mostly due to the auto pilot which will basically instantly bring you to the next fight/station/point of interest. If you are looking for a game that makes you feel the big emptiness of space (like, say, the X or Elite series), look elsewhere. This is about arcade action. One issue is the controls. M&KB controls are barely usable (not at all usable with the standard settings, rebinding buttons helps though). Gamepad works well enough. There is a bit of an odd feature, which is auto tracking. Your ship will automatically follow your locked target and you do more of the fine tuning to hit and stuff like that. Personally, i'm not a fan of it but technically, it works ok. Also, the game is really bad at explaining it's own mechanics. Tip: Watch the 40 minute video in the Epic store page for the game, where the lead dev explains how to play it. It's basically a manual for the game. Without it, you'll miss a lot of features. (Like playing the mini games in the bars against people who will bet you equipment to win.) All in all, a very nice, very oldschool arcade space shooter with a fantastic space-western vibe. Definitely zn indie game with its rough edges but IMO, it knows what it wants to be as a game and it accomplishes that very well, which is always something I can respect in a game. I'll give it 8/10 yeeeehaaaaaaws.

So agree re the damn enemy CELL troops spawning on top of you and behind you etc. it can be dam annoying. Just did the pier where you go to Gould's apartment and I don't think I noticed previously how much that happens. Re Alcatraz being silent I think it is that he is in fact for all intensive purposes so badly injured he's dead. Prophet just needed an uninfected meat puppet inside the suit and you have played the game before haven't you, so you no what is happening with Prophet and the suit yeah? Nope, never played anything beyond Crysis 1 and I finished that one to the end just few days ago. But from all that has happened so far and from the deep tissue scan during which the technician basically went "how is he even alive with those injuries"...well, a picture was painted. It's suspect that Alcatraz is in any control since the start. The plot kind of reminds me of how Prototype 2 started and what the main character of Prototype 1 turned out to be. Good to know, I wont spoil you but there are some fun adventures and surprises in store!!!! I assume you have come across Tara Strickland, the woman who works with Cmd Lockhart? Did you recognise her name, she's the daughter of the General/Colonel in Crysis 1 who dies while Nomad evac's on the VTOL fighting that huge alien machine.
