Those who love Bioware's Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, a single player game that spawned a sequel with Obsidian, might be getting remastered. Liam Robertson, on his Patreon page, reported that Austin is working to transition from the MMO the Old Republic back to a single-player experience. They're also working on remastering KoTOR and that sounds awesome by me.
From my perspective: The MMO is super rich with stories and I hope they translate it to a single player campaign. I missed out on the later content when EA made it to free-to-play, but the trailers kept teasing me to come back. I didn't, but this would be a great buy after it's thoroughly patched.
It's good news for Bioware. Even though I think Andromeda is a good game (not great, actually it deserves every criticism), I feel like this time around (unlike Inquisition) they're going to improve on things. Let's hope that Bioware stops with the pandering and just focus on making Frostbite work like an RPG since DICE doesn't know how.
UPDATE: It's just a rumor. Disney's license expires in 2020. I thought this had traction, but nope.

TOR the MMO was great, at least up through each classes storyline. The expansion after that? Was pretty bad. Just killed the investment you had in your character and the story.
However, a KoTOR remaster sounds fantastic, I wants it.

I'd rather they use these resources to make KOTOR 3 or something. Normally, I would agree with you, but it gives Bioware more opportunities to implement old-school RPG elements that was lacking in Inquisition. If they can remaster it right (which I honestly believe Austin and whatever snowbirds arrive from north of the border), then hell yes... KoTOR 3.

I'd rather they use these resources to make KOTOR 3 or something. They did, it was called SWTOR ...bet I'm the first person to tell you that, eh? Eh? I'd rather have Kotor 3 too. Not having a proper sequel is still one of my biggest gaming disappointments to this day. Will say that the most recent expansions did up the quality, but only if you're playing a force user...even more so if you're a Jedi Knight. That felt a little bit closer to a proper Kotor 3, but it's still just not the same. There's really just no good excuse to take two of the best stories from the Star Wars universe and wrap it up in a mediocre tie-in novel with a heavy bias for Bioware's characters/story than Obsidian's arguably better story/characters/tone and then fast forward several hundred years.

I would prefer KoToR 3. Let the MMO stand on its own and just continue from where KoToR 2 left off.

For a second, I thought it was Good news coming out of Autism. Well If this is true, that I want it to be enough like Kotor 1 and 2 to attract old players like myself.
New content is always good.
Well I have see good arguments for silent and voiced protagnist. personally for Kotor remake, I prefer Silent. Kotor 1 and 2 are good examples for silent, DA2 Snarky Hawke is a good example for voiced.
Side note: if asked, Should I make a Kotor 1 and 2 Remake Wishlist? I have a few ideas.

I am more excited for the new co-op game coming from Edmonton code named Dylan. Yeah, I've heard about it. I hope for Bioware it's a success. It sounds cool, but I hope it's not some Evolve-type hybrid that is littered with micro transactions. Wait, this is Bioware. We'll have micro transactions, spliced story content in DLC, a buggy release and Aaryn Flynn. Yep, I went there.

Bioware or Obsidian can easily make an above average or even good NWN 3 or KOTOR III (or even any Star Wars RPG), and I will appreciate it.

Both KoTor and the non Bioware sequel are among my favorite original XBox games
(The Sith Lords did have a lot of bugs and a crap ending, though)
so please remaster at least the first and maybe even both
and include the HK Droid Factory level left out but clearly intended from 2

I don't trust current EA/Bioware to do a KOTOR 3 justice. But you trust them with a re-make? It's likely irrelevant anyway so...
As long as the remake was taking the same game and updating the graphics, engine, etc. And not touching the actual story. But yeah, it's almost certainly a moot point.

I still want to add that for a time, SWTOR was actually MUCH better than KOTOR3 could have ever been because of the choice that you would have never gotten in an SP game of different races and 8 class protagonists each with a story, all of 8 stories forming a cohesive narrative. A SP game would have never served you a complexity like that. I ran each class tory at least twice, and I have seen all FPs and operations, and it was the most compelling game I have played, particularly during a time window in 2013-2015, when gearing was easy and operations/FPs were easy and fairly plentiful to a player new to the game like I was. Then they got their act together, things went into the grindfest mode.
I've never seen a single player BioWARE game to come anywhere close to SWTOR's mastery of multiple stories handling and sheer variety of protagonists to create.
It was AMAZING, and BioWARE does not get the credit for it, and it is very sad, because it is... just incredibly well done, in a never before, never after sort of way.

The stories were okay I enjoyed the Inquisitor and heard some good things about other classes, but they were gated by so much annoying MMO crap that unless you actually enjoyed the MMO crap it was next to impossible to do more than two class stories. That's how I felt anyway.
SWTOR was the first MMO I had played, and the only one I liked. All the mechanics like crafting, gathering, and multi-player content were new to me. I had to look up what "aggro" meant in the List of 101 MMO terms, and ask things like: What do you mean, Orange gear? The background or the frame? I was fortunate to play it during the time when grind was fairly light. It took me 6 months to complete my first two stories I ran in parallel, basically only solo, and then I started to talk to people on the Bio forums, and got in the PvP content, because commendations were 2x at the time and my Smuggler was dying on Corellia on level 50 (cap at the time). A few months after that, the game suddenly went incredibly generous with leveling and gear, and I have also discovered the Light Side of the MMO. I was incredibly lucky. By now I know just how lucky I was. I started chatting with PvP folks on the forums, and the community embraced me and taught me how to crawl in a MMO. The community was also really mature by then, so I was able to chat with the guys who wrote the guides to classes, and they also explained a lot of things to me that I could not get just from reading. Finally, thanks to my lucky stars I actually met someone who truly mentored me for six months on how to play a MMO, and taught me how to play a healer with a tank, another healer and a DPS. I never git good, but I git passable to be able to play with a nice PvE guild after that and actually experience MMO in the best way possible. Once I got the basics, and thanks to the "easy gearing/easy levelling" period in SWTOR lifecycle I finished all the other stories, made mirror characters, played on another server with East Coast friends... etc. I basically was able to experience SWTOR the way each MMO wants the player to experience it. With nice people and accessing a whole bunch of different content, in PvP and PvE. I had also been to the Dark Side of MMOs as well, so I understand the "MMO crap" comment.
