I've never had a problem with any of the Bioware protagonist VAs except Mark Meer, which has nothing to do with his talent as he does a fantastic job on other characters, and everything to do with his deadpan, robot-man delivery of maleShep lines. Jennifer Hale femshep and whoever did maleHawke are IMO the best though.Nicholas Boulton UPDATEVoice actors DAO: DA2 DAI:

Unpopular opinion: I prefer Montano and Jon Curry's Inquisitors to AWR and HHP.
I definitely like Montano more than AWR, especially if I have femHawke in the game. Don't have a preference on the men, though I've used HHP more since I've only played 1 each qunari and dwarf (I used JC for those).

My dream voice: Montano's voice with AWR's accent. That's what I think would have worked best for my Adaar, but alas.

Personally I'm hoping for "Outrageous Orlesian" accent options.

Gaspard strikes me as unforgivably dumb in the way he was portrayed in game. The entire time I went through the Winter Palace, he remained clueless about:
1. Celene intercepting his plans through the soldier tied to her bed.
2. Obliviousness to his sister Florianne's plans if she stabs Celene.
3. His utter lack of diplomacy to a Dalish Inquisitor when he says elves have no place in politics.
4. Spending most of the evening getting drunk on a balcony.
5. Acting surprised when Florianne stabs Celene. Seriously, where were the guards?! No one got edgy about that?
It's just...if Josephine is going to play up the hype about the skill of Orlesians in deadly subterfuge, a bit more effort in not making some of them look like imbeciles would help.

I think hes supposed to look like an idiot to be honest, for exactly the reasons you say. hes a warhorse. Hes a blunt instrument. The only one among the three that is really good at "the game" is Celine.

The only one among the three that is really good at "the game" is Celine. It sort of contrasts with the novel version of him where he was able to outmaneuver Celene into an untenable position with the scandal he caused about her affair with Briala. Add to his racist goal of wanting to publish claims that elves are akin to animals and that to lay with them is bestiality, I was having a hard time seeing any reason to help him gain power even as any other race.

Spending most of the evening getting drunk on a balcony. To be fair, this is the only way to cope with obnoxious Orlesian nobles.

Playing the Game strikes me as hazardous when drunk, like gambling in high stakes Poker half bombed. Probably doesn't help his case that he was drunk after he said stupid stuff to Lavellan. C'mon man, you're supposed to be annoying after you down a few shots of ryncol!

On other people's faces. 'Cause of all the masks and all. Now no one can go around saying stuff to others because they've got pie in their mouth! Sorry, Sera makes me want to do that to some Orlesian characters.

I don't have particular attachment to a specific spot in Thedas. If anything it's probably Highever though you never see it, just because it's where a Cousland Warden is from. I don't really have an attachment to it, but Orzammar gets "most interesting place" award of all the places we've seen so far. It makes me really want to see Kal Sharok.

Leliana. Is. CRAAAAAAAZY.Are you refering to her visions, outlook on manipulating and assassinating people as "a beautiful dance in shadows", stabbity-happy way of dealing with enemies while admiring or criticizing her opponents shoes, or everything/combination of things? Overall, I don't think it's THAT MUCH of unpopular opinion

I vaguely like Vivienne, the no nonsense pragmatic side of her. Minus the manipulation and the enormous blindspots she has. I'm with her on the whole magic is dangerous, and you can't just sit on your hand and spout idealism will save the day. There's a natural power imbalance between mages and non mages, it seems to me the more powerful a society the more it gets problematic and there's no 100% nice way to deal with the issue.

There's a natural power imbalance between mages and non mages, it seems to me the more powerful a society the more it gets problematic and there's no 100% nice way to deal with the issue. Vivienne only narrow-minded, she didn't say anything that a little bit has sense and we didn't know before – correct me, if I'm wrong, with examples...) Te solution is not the life-time imprisonment and deprives from privacy and family, what method not only unjust, inhumane and cruel, but even dangerous: a false sense of security. The solution is education, effective anti-magical force against the criminal mages (Seekers, Templars?, Mages together), and registration (Phylactery-system – ethically problematic but could be useful). This solution also not perfect (there's no perfect solution), and gives an opportunity to abuse (which system is not?), and to achieve the full security also impossible, so this solution is the best from every viewpoint.
