Implications from Rise - include heavy spoilers:
When Lara frees Jacob from the Gulag. She has to run away from Trinity. She nearly drowns, makes it out and runs - shivering and clearly hypothermic.
She then falls into the river a second time, this time seemingly buried by the tower. She's already half way to death at that moment, with severe hypothermia, and having just falled into the water from about ten floors up. Water from that altitude is supposedly like concrete.
She is then shown limp, going deeper into the water.
Now... The implications become more obvious later in the story when Jonah gets stabbed and as I understand killed.
She was separated from Jacob very heavily, yet it is him who pulls her out of the water.
Along with going unconsciouss, possibly the result of the impact with water surface, she can't breathe while underwater.
It is extremely unlikely that Jacob would find her and pull her out within two minutes of her falling in, which is supposedly (I did Karen-level research on this) enough to drown.
This means that he could not have rescued Lara in time.
The implications are troubling.
Lara died. And then she was brought back.
Now I am absolutely certain you can't pull some sort of "Oh it's all in her head then as she's dying, rest of Rise and entirety of Shadow" because we know the world of Tomb Raider has supernatural elements to it, see Yamatai. She also falls unconscious at the beginning, but otherwise remains responsive, and what makes me feel real sorry for her, awake over the course of several days, and she definitely survived that unconsciousness. A degree of supernatural is also observed before she loses consciousness... So it's all real.
The thing that is happening in her head is the flashback to Lord Croft.

Huh. Spoiler tags seem kinda fucky in edit, but I guess it worked out. I'll leave it be, formatting errors be damned.

Hey, uh. Anyone know about the trilogy right before the Survivor reboots?
Like, Anniversary, Legends and Underworld? How are they? They're pretty dirt cheap right now. I figure pre-reboot Lara is better than no Lara at all.
But are they even worth it? Do they run on Win10?
