So far, the equipable item kits are as follows: - Juggernaut Shield: +75% melee damage; +10% shields (total of +85% bonus stats).
- Adaptive War Amp: +15% biotic damage.
- Engineering Kit: +15% tech powers.
- Combatives Upgrade: +10% AR and pistol/smg damage.
I have a really hard time justifying equipping anything other than the Juggernaut Shield. It has a total of +85% worth of increases, both offensive and defensive. Other kits should be brought up a bit to get somewhat close to that level. My suggested changes: - Adaptive War Amp: +25% biotic damage and duration; +15% biotic power recharge.
- Engineering Kit: +25% tech damage and duration; +15% tech explosion damage.
- Combatives Upgrade: +25% AR, pistol/smg, and shotgun damage; +25% reload speed.
Currently, power damage is laughable when compared to sniper and melee damage, so a 25% power damage increase would not make power builds overpowered. Additionally, giving the other equippable kits a decent buff would make them a viable alternative to the Juggernaut Shield and also give power based classes more viability and individuality.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Combativbes can't give a 25% boost, weapons are as overpowered as is compared to powers. Keep the 10% modifier, but also make it increase clip size by 25% and weight capacity by 50%. This will allow for usage by certain kits like vanguards who don't get weight capacity in their builds to be able to equip a piranha instead of a pistol/SMG without hurting their power recharge. Currently, snipers are overpowered, not all weapons. Weapons in general are weak if you remove snipers from the pool. That's why I suggested Combatives apply to AR, pistols/smgs, and shotguns. The game really needs balancing, but if real balancing isn't going to happen, at least item kits should be able to remedy some of the issues.

Vanquisher was the last rare weapon I unlocked but the second to max the rank(first was equalizer). ...anyway.. even though I am terrible at sniping, vanquisher`s near 1000 damage per shot + 4 shots per clip was nothing like any other crappy weapons I used in this game.

Piranha melts everything much faster than a mere sniper. Then you have Hurican SMG , Equalizer, and Talon pistols all doing considerable damage as well. Just because there are some garbage weapons doesn't mean that even those garbage weapons are miles ahead of powers in DPS. Even a Charger X vastly outdamages the most specialized power centered kits. We don't need the gulf between weapons and powers further increased. It will only make turbocharge/tactical cloak based classes even more retarded.

10% shield buff is like 25 shields. I am not convinced this makes any difference to the number of shots it would take an enemy to break your shields.

so the last listed item will be available next week. what happens the NEXT week? I expect thats when level 2 will come out and it will upgrade each one, a week at a time.after that, level 3 and so on. The Juggernaut Shield will be available again, most likely. I don't find it a compelling enough reason to assume they will be upgradable just because the super buggy app shows a I by the names of the equipment, while the actual game does not. The upgrades may be very small, if any. If you notice when you view Prestige Collections that UR is selectable but blank. Makes me think there may also be a new wave of different ones in a couple weeks. Its all speculation until then.

Good players are better at evading damage and rely less on melee. Thus, they don't need the juggie shield for survivability and can use any of the other equipment pieces instead for increased damage.

Not everyone who uses melee heavily is a bad player. Some people just conceptually like the idea of bringing a sword to a gun fight, and Mass Effect is a setting where that works, nearly as much so as Warhammer 40k.

Good players are better at evading damage and rely less on guns like the vanquisher or powers to cc. Thus, they don't need the other equipment and can use the jug shield for the straight up HIGHEST damage increase for their main damage output. See how that works?
