Started poorly with me feeling like death when waking up. Some productivity, then exercise and shower and now lunch and I'm feeling pretty great! All ready for the weekend!

Urgh. I hate Mondays at work. Its my busiest day (this should be illegal on a Monday too) which is all go no quit for at least 6 hrs straight. Except for today which is usually a once or twice a month when I have to try and fit twice the amount of work into the same time while trying to sort out conflicting and late information and individual customer requirements and still get it all 100% correct. By the end of it I'm not even sure what my name is anymore lol. Gah. BRB shaving head and doing a Britney.

Been having an eye infection for 3 days now. Basically feels like I have a giant brick stuck under my eyelid, first I thought I got some dirt in it but after cleaning my eye with running water for half an hour I realized its an infection. Just got some good meds that should take care of that crap. I hope. Pretty sure thats caused by dry eyes from spending too much time staring into a screen, both at work and at home too. Rubbed my eyes, probably hat germs on my finger(s), dry eyes are much more susceptible to infections. BAM. Problem. Maybe its a sign I should go out and get a life............NAH, Netflix and games is what I want.

Someone gifted me a hammock. I already bought proper roped and hooks to install it in my living room, but upon inspecting it closely I have doubts that it can withstand my 108 kilogram body. Tomorrow I'm gonna try it out but I sure as hell will put a bunch of pillows underneath it to dampen my (potential) fall. I've had my fair share of chair breakings so I am really careful now. Also I just nearly matched my previous 200kg deadlift record for 9 clean repetitions without hitching. I had one more in the tank but I just didn't want to go all in risking injury today. I learned to listen to my gut feelings the hard way, so I do make use of this 6th sense now.

This past weekend was hell on my calories (500 and 700 over). But it was my dads birthday, so I really felt like I should induldge a bit. And yesterday I went over my daily limit by 40 calories.
sigh when things like that happen, you just gotta accept them and move on. So thats what I'm doing. I have 200 calories left for my dinner tonight, so it looks like I'm having some yogurt for diner, and maybe some jelly beans for dessert. All in all, not a bad diner, assuming I can't find anything else I can do for that 200 calories.
Besides that, I was able to get a game laucher working on my linux laptop. Its called Lutris, and lets you have your steam and non-steam games all in one laucher. Plus it works with WINE, to set the correct settings for WINE, and (in theory) should let you play your non-linux games on linux. I haven't tested it yet, and might not have the chance until this weekend. But its still neat, imo.

In my teens I was super allergic to all kinds of pollen and I suffered from swollen infected eyes, stuffed nose and cough till early summer, but may allergies went away. Not sure why, maybe because I never took any meds and my body adjusted.

Not sure why, maybe because I never took any meds and my body adjusted I started being allergic to some plant/tree???, we still don't know what it's causing it, 3 years ago, never before. I can somehow stand the eyes/throat/nose stuff, what really bothers me is having clogged ears. Well, that and also how freaking expensive my drugs are

Then stop there, and maintain my weight. I don't think I can get skinny through diet alone anymore, but I really want to lose 100 lbs, instead of the 70 or so I've done now. Just something about that triple didget number that strikes my fancy. And, if I'm reading BMI numbers correctly, thats the middle ground for my height/age in terms of weight. Right smack dab in the middle of "Healthy" weight range. As it stands right now, I'm (technically) still overweight.
Its a goal to strive for too.

BMI is wonky when you are short or very tall or very muscular, it only spits out correct weight recommendations for perfectly average people. I remember you are quite short, so I would not use the BMI as a guideline. I have a BMI of freaking 32. Goal should be to be healthy not to count numbers and focus on a fictive body mass index system. Usually what leads to good health is simply doing medium intensity sports and eating healthy foods until you feel sated.

Goal should be to be healthy not to count numbers and focus on a fictive body mass index system. Usually what leads to good health is simply doing medium intensity sports and eating healthy foods until you feel sated. Is 5ft 8in quite short? I thought the average was 5ft 10in. I figured I was slightly below average. And I was using it more as a reference than anything else. I'm much more interested in trying to lose this spare tire I'm carrying, and these moobs. And I those double digit loss numbers are a fine prize in my mind. Just being able to say "I've lost 100 lbs" sounds a whole lot better than saying "I lost 70 lbs" to me. Its that 100 that sounds just damn impressive to me. So I'm trying to do that via dieting first. And I might not be able to lose them that way. I'm willing to admit, I might have hit a wall where diet alone isn't enough. In that case, I found a fitness site that looks like it has some low intensity workouts. But I'd like to try at any rate.
My biggest hurdle is every other Sunday, I go over my daily limit. That's my new D&D night, with snacks, and unhealthy dinners. No matter how I budget, or try to control myself, I can't seem to help going over by at least 3-4 hundred calories. So I've reduced my weekly intake to try and compensate. And...its working so far. But this is still very early days with that compensation, with a-lot of trial and error ahead of me.

Was on a break the other day and went to get something to eat with a friend. Since I had to use the restroom and the handle on the case holding my laptop broke, I asked my friend to hold onto it because I didn't want to set it down on the dirty bathroom floor. Apparently they set it down on the table while they decided to walk off to fill their drink for a few seconds and now it's missing.
Also, I got flagellated at work because I was 3 minutes late. My fault sure but holy shit I'm always on time, in fact I'm usually early and haven't even had a vacation for years now. Can't they allow me just three fucking minutes? I even tried calling my boss and leaving a message that I might be late but his message box was full.

I'm guessing though no security footage of someone taking your laptop? People these days π

It's been like that for me on Mondays, which is our roleplaying night. As a rule, I manage to restrain myself sufficiently to not lose any progress, but all too often I didn't make any either on those days. Thankfully, it won't be long until I can loosen my discipline somewhat again. It's been a long 9 months.

And here I'm trying to eat more to GAIN weight at 238 lbs / 108kg. Well...I guess powerlifting requires a rather different kind of discipline. I don't think I'd find it much to my taste. 108kg is where I started last year. I didn't look good, and there were several health problems that have vanished without a trace since then, so I know what I've been doing is right for me. Also, I'm not really fond of sports, I just do it to stay healthy. Except for swimming, which I like and where I'm good at, but I dislike competition so I just do it for myself and only to the extent where it's enjoyable.

Yeah with powerlifting/strongman everything is heavy. You are heavy, the weights are heavy, the competition is heavy, the steaks are heavy.... I enjoy the process of trying to get things to the limit and beyond, I would have as much fun trying to become an elite cyclist (I tried to be many many years ago) or sprinter or racecar designer, its just that my talents are with lifting. Most people dislike that process and experience it as mental and physical torture, I absolutely love how it feels. If it weren't for that idiotic drugs and performance enhancers in professional sports I'd have perused a career in weight lifting. I'd also love to be a good swimmer as I enjoy the feeling of being in the water, especially in the cold northern sea, sadly my buoyancy is abysmal, I have to flail around like a maniac on coke to stay afloat. I can't even do the ''dead man'', staying motionless to float. I will instantly submerge like an U-boat in emergency dive mode. I'm only halfway decent at a weird form of backstroke - you are flat on your back in the water and then you make scissor movements with arms and legs simultaneously, like a squid or jellyfish, that way I can propel myself through the water fast with relatively little effort, I can comfortably cover 5 meters / 15ft with one single stroke. Makes me feel like a torpedo, but it looks weird AF and I cant see where I am going so I don't go to public swimming pools.
