The Eagles lost to the Dolphins. The Dolphins! They had a 28-14 lead, too. They really are a bad team this year. It goes beyond personnel. I'm not sure what's going on, but I hope they get it fixed.
This season is likely over, even with Dallas doing everything they can to lose the East. Changes need to be made in Philly, but I'm unsure what they'll be. I think the roster is sort of locked in, due to the nature of their current contracts. They may be able to add a bit, but the roster will look very similar next year. Seeing how they've been heading in the wrong direction, I don't feel great about that.
The Eagles suck, but this season is shaping up well in the big picture. The NFC is really strong, and the Pats don't look like the best team in the AFC. Both of those facts make things more interesting. I hope we don't have any big injuries for the rest of the season. It will be fun to see who can emerge from what should be a very competitive post-season.

Ron Rivera out as Carolina coach after nine seasons
That sucks. I like the guy. I knew this might be his last season, but didn't believe he would be gone until the end of the season. It will be curious what will happen in the off-season when it comes to resigning players especially Newton who will be in his last year of his current contract.

Shame about Rivera. I thought he'd finish this season, but Tepper's reasoning made perfect sense. Hopefully the headstart helps them find the right person. I generally hate to see coaches fired. Rivera is a good guy. It will be interesting to see where he goes next season.
I wonder if Shurmur might return to Philadelphia next season? I'd be surprised if the Giants don't can him. He did good work in Philly and had a good relationship with Wentz. Groh has had a terrible time with an extremely talented offense. I can't imagine that the Eagles let him remain OC.

I think it'll be an interesting off-season to see what teams do. Washington needs a new HC and I doubt the current intern holds it, I've also heard there are rumors the owner is looking to remove Bruce Allen from the GM position (finally!👍)
I'm not sure where the Redskins go with a new HC, they could go to a younger guy since lately it seems some of the younger coaches have been doing pretty good. It also brings something new to the nfl instead of rehashing guys who've been in for 30+ years. There's the rumor Kevin o Konnel could take the HC spot for Washington but I don't know about him. I guess it could be worth trying, the last two offensive coordinators for Washington happen to be head Coaches for two teams that are or have been doing well. I Know the Rams aren't doing as well this year, but mcvay has made them competitive at least and Kyle shanahan has turned the 49ers back into a contender by the looks of it.
I've given up on Washington making the playoffs but technically they're not out of it just yet. If Dallas loses out, Washington wins out and the eagles lose one of their 2 games to the Giants, Washington could make it at 7-9 but that's sad lol, this division is straight up terrible this year. I also won't hold my breath on Washington even winning 2 of the next 4 games. I see the Packers destroying them, and I can see Dallas and the eagles beating them. I see their only win being vs the Giants for the rest of the season.

Rivera is a good guy. It will be interesting to see where he goes next season. I talked with someone about that. He said Rivera could end up coaching for the Cowboys if Garrett is let go? What I do see happening is if Chicago has an opening on the coaching staff especially in the defensive area, I can see Rivera heading there since he did play linebacker for the Bears.
What happened is the Panthers could be 9-3. They had 4 games where they were near the goal line with the opportunity to win or tie very late in the games, but failed to score. All was because of poor play calling.

I did think of the Cowboys. I could see him there; but it's impossible for me to guess Jerrah's intentions. Stephen's positive influence has resulted in much of the progress Dallas has made this decade (drafting the right guys, etc...). Stephen may convince him to bring in a strong coach. Everyone wants to hire an "offensive coach", now, but there aren't tons of Shanahans and McVays. They should worry about finding a leader, period. A good HC will build his staff. Philly has had the same problem. They've led in most games, and had opportunities to win most. The Patriots were trying to hand them the game 2 weeks ago. Winning a SB has earned Pederson a healthy grace period, but a change at OC is a must. I misspoke when I mentioned Shurmur in connection with the Eagles. I was thinking of John DeFilippo. He might be available, too, given Jacksonville's performance. Since DeFilippo and Reich left, Philly has become more talented but far less productive. I'm curious to see where Cam ends up, in Carolina or elsewhere. Someone will be thrilled to have him in hopes that he can regain form. I hope his body isn't too spent. He took so much punishment over the years. He may have aged like a proverbial RB, beat up by 30.

Ah Dallas....somebody should tell them that scoring in the 4th quarter during "garbage time" when the other team have already won the game, does not account for anything.... .....these lames had one good scoring drive in the 1st qtr and that was it... Then they looked absolutely lost from the 1st to the 3rd qtr...and when they got turnovers, they still couldn't do anything with it....Garret has got to go....he's lost this team....they stunk it up on Thanksgiving and they clearly are playing uninspired football....it seemed like as soon as Zeke got his big contract, he got lazy....and Dak can forget about his big payday after his dismal performance. Dallas cannot play from behind and they start to panic when the lead from the other team starts to swell....all those scoring drives in the 4th quarter meant nothing since the bears was already drinking cocktails on the field since they already whooped Dallas a$$.... The nfc east is a mess, but dallas certainly does not deserve to go to the playoffs....i hope philly at least lands the spot...it seems that they at least have more heart than these over-rated bunch of pre-Madonnas....team is just trash right now....there was a 3rd and 9 play when Dallas D had a chnace to get the bears off the field...dude catches the ball with at least about 6 or 7 yards to make the first with TWO cowboy defenders in his face and they both missed the tackle...just unacceptable.... Cowboy defenders was sliding off the guy like he had chicken grease on him or some s**t....

clips7, I can't understand why Dallas is so bad. With Philly, I think it's injuries and a bit of buying into themselves and/or getting complacent after their SB win. Dallas, though, I don't get. They need a new HC ASAP. They've needed it for a long time, but the current roster magnifies it. I kind of wondered the same about Zeke, but I don't watch enough of their games to feel comfortable expressing it. He has seemingly shifted from "super star workhorse" to "sometimes shows up". I don't know that Philly has more heart right now. They blew a 28-14 lead over the Dolphins last week, giving up 3 TDs in about 12 minutes. If the eventual winner doesn't string together some wins, we'll definitely have a division champ who looks undeserving of their spot.

Haha...yes Element,...we need a head coach badly, but i think it might actually boil down to Jerry himself removing himself from the coaching and managing duties. Garret survived this long imo, because he's a guy that Jerry can control and gets no kickback from. It seems to me that since Jimmy Johnson, Jerry has wanted to maintain control over the coaching aspects. His experiment with Parcells lasted for a minute, but i read that Parcells was clashing with Jones staff and some of his players. The good thing about that is Parcells didn't take any s**t from players that would act like they was more important than the team...That crap Antonio Brown did with the Steelers and the Raiders, then with the Patriots?....dude would have been gone in an instant... But yeah...its going to be a toss up between philly and Dallas and honestly looking at both team's schedules AND how dallas have been playing lately?...i give the edge to philly... .. Lastly on Antonio Brown?..i've read that dude is now on his apology tour lol. I wouldn't give that guy the time of day... talent or no talent....he disrespected the coach in Pittsburgh,...he threatened the owner in Oakland and called him a "cracker" after signing that 30 million dollar contract, flew in on a parachute into the stadium, missed a ton of practice/team meetings, then he disses the owner of the patriots and pretty much told everybody he's done with the NFL and that he was going back to school...lol. A few months later after he's burning through his bank account, his agent wrote some long letter on social media apologizing for the entire circus he created.... yeah we know Brown didn't write it due to his past grammar errors on display previously for the entire world to see on social media....

I think Dallas's issues would be a little complacency on some of the players getting big pay days (Elliot wasn't the only one who got a big deal for them this year) and Garrett just sucks as coaching. I don't see him trying to make adjustments during games but Jerry loves his yes man Coaches after getting rid of Jimmy J.
Regarding Dak, I wouldn't give him a market setting contract until they win games, they'll just hurt their cap for the future. I also just don't think Dak is "that good" to warrant such a big deal though. _________________________________________
I figured the Redskins would lose to Green Bay but that was an ugly one for GB to win to be honest but a wins a win and they're leading their division. I'm still just not liking how Haskins has looked, I know he needs time to grow and there's no point ditching him since we'll be rebuilding anyways but ehhh idk. I just don't think he'll get it figured out in the next few years.
The skins also just got Darrius Guice back and he's already again so I feel he's a bust for a 2nd round pick from last year, he's just never available. Adrian Peterson is nearing 800 yards for the year so he's still semi producing at his age👍 also passed 14k yards rushing.
_________________________________________
I still can't forget the Redskins letting Kirk cousins go either, I know he may not be worth the money he's got, but he's producing for Minnesota. 24 TDs to 4 INTs, he may not win them games but he won't lose them games (most of the time, admittedly he has thrown a few game over INTs last year but he's been good this year on that). I'm kinda routing for the Vikings this year since the skins suck.

Eagles barely beat the Giants, tonight. I honestly wasn't surprised at how close it was. Eli was back, and these teams always have close games. Fortunately, the Giants nearly always lose to the Eagles, and it worked out tonight. (Eagles have now won 6 in a row, 10 of 11, I think.)
The Eagles suck. Their division sucks. They look incapable of defeating even a mediocre teamz let alone a playoff team. Still, I want them to at least win the division and make the playoffs. Being a fan is silly, sometimes.

The problem with the Eagles is Wentz. In the season his team went to the Superbowl, he did well until he was injured. From that point on, he hasn't been the same. He's missed open receivers at times, held on the ball leading to sacks instead of throwing it away.
The problem with Dallas is Jerry Jones. He needs to shut his mouth. He isn't helping his team by making the remarks he has been saying of late. I believe Dallas will win the division, and depending how far they go in the playoffs, might determine if Garrett remains as head coach for 2020.
For my Panthers, the team has suffered a lot of key injuries. Still, it's no excuse for their current losing streak. I have no idea who will be the next head coach. Not sure who I would hire. Maybe look at bringing back John Fox who coached the Panthers many years ago. If I was to change anything, it would be the QB position. Take out Allen and put in Will Grier to see how he fairs. He did well at West Virginia. The other is Newton. He will be entering his final year of his current contract. He just had surgery on his foot. Lot's of things for the Panthers to think about in the off-season.

Wentz could be better in places. As you observed, he's tending to hold the ball too long and trying to make plays. He has been getting hit and fumbling as a result. Still, he's generally been a one man team. His top receivers have been on the field together only one-half of one game all year. (They were down to two active WRs Monday night following yet more injuries.) The guys that have been on the field for them this last month probably won't be in the NFL very long. The Eagles lead the NFL in drop-rate. He puts the ball right in their hands and they drop it. They drop 1st downs. They drop TDs. It's maddening. When they catch it, they immediately fumble it. (That's another obscure stat in which they lead the league.) Last I checked, which has been a few weeks, Wentz is still one of the very best on 3rd down and versus the blitz. He really needs his receivers to simply catch the ball. Other the Ertz, no one has been reliable for him this year. For the second year in a row, they've also had injuries wipe out their entire stable of RBs. That makes it even tougher with no-name scrubs dropping the ball all day, every day. The O-Line, and Wentz with them, crumble when Lane Johnson is out of the line-up. I know he was carted off the field with an ankle injury this past Monday. That could be the nail in the coffin for a moribund offense. There are some similarities between Philly and Carolina, in terms of injuries and under-achieving. Philly might have fewer question marks in key roles, but the results are similar. Philly hasn't really nailed a draft in years. Howie Roseman used Free Agency to supplement a veteran roster to perfection the year they won. Now they're paying the price, though, with an older roster that can't stay healthy. I'm curious to see what happens in Carolina. Even though their record has been relatively mediocre in the last decade, from afar they have the feel of a team with a good culture. I don't follow them closely enough to know whether that's just my feeling or a consensus. I like Cam. I hope he can come out of these injuries and find success. It would be really cool if he could do that in Charlotte.
