The draft is going to be good. I wonder where this guy will go?

frosted , those NE Patriots planes are nice! Billionaires inhabit a different world than the rest of us. The paint job is awesome. The 5 Lombardis is a nice touch. themikefest, Denver is in an interesting spot. They already have a $100M pass-rusher. Now, they’ll invest $140M (?) in a QB? That’s a ton of cash for two players. I have no idea how the cap adjusts over the next 5 years. I’m just awed by the figures. It’s important to have a financial guru in the front office to structure these contracts as manageably as possible.

I'm definitely happy for Nick Foles. I always felt like he could be a starter in this league. Then maniac Chip Kelly traded him to the Jeff Fisher "black-hole of perennial 7-9 season mediocrity" and ruined him. That was perhaps one of the funniest things about the playoffs: the Rams made it in their first year without Fisher, and his former starting QBs who were blamed as being not good enough for him to win with -- Foles, Keenum, Bradford -- were all active in the NFC Championship (oh yeah, and Foles won SuperBowl MVP)! I dunno if Foles has any real future now, but I'm happy he was able to rebound in pretty dramatic fashion.

He just needed the right coaching circumstances. Hell wouldn't it be funny if he moved onto Indy if Luck is still down.

Disclaimer: playing football is great, even watching it is, if there's genuine relationship or group identity to it, instead of imagined NFL fandom community. Modern day panem et circenses degeneracy is hardly elevating or aspiration. Sry about the preach, but had to be shared.

I don't know why Foles wouldn't have a future in the league. He just needed the right coaching circumstances. Hell wouldn't it be funny if he moved onto Indy if Luck is still down. I would say the biggest concern for Foles is will the Eagles want to keep him knowing he may want a contract they can't afford or rather should they afford it. Barring any unforeseen event, Wentz will be the starting QB for 2018. At the moment, Foles is a hot commodity. Teams who want a QB would not hesitate to have him on their team, namely Denver and Arizona. Of course both teams are also interested in Cousins. As I've said a few times, Cousins would be a good fit for the Cardinals offense. If not, Foles would also be a good fit. I'm sure Arizona won't be afraid to throw the dollar sign around at Foles, if Philly doesn't want to keep him. I don't see him going to the Colts since Luck will most likely be ready for the 2018 season Even with a healthy Andrew Luck, Colts need a lot to be contenders again www.espn.com/blog/indianapolis-colts/post/_/id/22718/even-with-a-healthy-andrew-luck-colts-need-a-lot-of-work-to-be-contenders-againI said before, this off-season will be an interesting one.

I don't think teams will be beating down the doors for Foles. He was phenomenal this post-season, but that wasn't anything he'd shown previously. There's a reason Chip traded him and that Philly fans were crestfallen when Wentz went down. Foles used to get very happy feet in the pocket, even when the pressure was imagined. There was a lot of luck in that 27 TD -2 INT season. He was pretty good, but not as good as the numbers suggested. The question is whether this is the older, more developed Nick Foles? Or was he just red hot behind a dominant O-Line with perfect scheming? (Maybe getting destroyed behind Fisher's trash o-line taught him to know real pressure from imagined?) Nick was incredibly precise this post-season. He was a more accurate passer than Carson had been, but can't create the plays Carson does. Foles looked like Rodgers or Goff with his post-season accuracy. It was unexpected and beautiful. The thing is, he was traded because he couldn't consistently make accurate throws during his first round in Philly. (Bradford can, but has unfortunately been plagued by injuries his entire career.) Anyway, I always liked Nick. Now I love him. Wherever he goes, I wish him success. He'll always be a special Eagle, beloved by every fan. It's interesting that you mention Arizona, since we'd fleeced them in the Kevin Kolb trade. (Man, we almost landed Patrick Peterson in that deal!) They might still feel burnt and leery of trading for Philly back-ups. There will definitely be some interest and inquiries. Philly is in a tough spot. I don't think Carson will be truly ready before the season begins. If he's not, then they have to keep Nick. They won't have the money to bring in a third guy to replace a departing Foles, and I doubt Sudfeld is that guy. They'll be forced to choose between chasing the repeat or trading Nick to ensure something is gained in his leaving. Maybe a midseason trade would be ideal, but those are rare, and would be difficult for a QB. I'm hoping Philly can upgrade from Torrey Smith (who just can't catch consistently) and keep Nigel Bradham. I'd like to see Blount stay, too; but we'll see. He might be looking to get paid, which is understandable for an aging RB with rings. Chris Long really bonded with the team. I'd love to see him stay, and he's clearly not driven by money concerns. Plus, playing in Philly's rotation is ideal for him. He's always fresh and in a position to make impact plays. Like you said, it's going to be an interesting off-season for the fans. A number of teams could rise dramatically or fall.

I know I'm late with this, but I'm glad the Eagles knocked the Patriots down a peg. It's never too late for such worthwhile discourse. It sounds like it's more a matter of anti-NE than pro-PHI, but I'll take it. I noticed and watched this NFL Films production of SB LII, earlier. Even putting aside my allegiance, it's a great look at the game from the inside. You get to see and hear the sidelines and on the field. You hear the officials reasoning out those crucial TD reviews. It's a nice production.

Pete Carroll is a nice guy, but sometimes I think he's turning into an old softy. The lack of discipline displayed during some of the player outbursts this last season and the tendency of the team to rack up high numbers of penalties suggest a firmer hand may be needed. But it's unclear who could replace him and some players would prefer him as a coach. Pete Carroll Among Head Coaches 2018 NFL Draft Prospects Would Prefer To Play For
