This is hard. I have not chosen any option yet, because trying to rank the classes in each game is rather hard. I have clear favorite and least favorite classes in each game, and the order keeps changing. I tend to have a "mushy middle" in my rankings, where I have a clear 1-2 favorite classes and 1 hated (or least liked) class, but then 3 classes where I cannot figure out the order. This is important because my least favorite or most hated class changes with each game.
Mass Effect 1: Engineer, because tech powers are generally underwhelming. Slightly better in the Legendary Edition with some the combat changes, but the class still feels overshadowed by the Infiltrator and Sentinel.
Mass Effect 2: Sentinel. I love playing as an Assault Sentinel running around with shotgun and Assault Armor, but I feel forced into playing only that type of Sentinel because Tech Armor keeps getting in the way of the other powers. Trying to play any sort of Caster Sentinel requires ignoring Tech Armor, which is really hard to do because you have to put 3 points into it to get access to half of your native casting powers. That makes it a very inflexible class unless you mod more points into it.
Mass Effect 3: Adept because it is all just biotic explosions with too many overlapping powers that fill the same prime/detonate rolls and it all just feels one-note and dull. You can have some fun with it -- like you can with all classes -- by limiting yourself in specific ways, but it still feels like it lacks the variety that other classes have in ME3 (at least to me, anyway).
Anyway, this is why I am trying to order the classes (from 1 to 6) in each game so I can see which class is more consistently at the bottom of my list. And the Legendary Edition of Mass Effect 1 is also screwing with the order. In original ME1, Sentinel was my second-least favorite class; in the Legendary Edition, the combat changes means I do not have to worry about which weapons I can use, so I can give it Singularity and turn it into an Adept that can unlock everything itself, which means I think I like it more than the Adept now. And that probably changes my Soldier ranking (especially since Immunity was nerfed into the dirt). And Soldier is in that weird "mushy middle" for me where I do just do not know where to place it in the rankings.
I need to think about this some more.

I have made different decisions in various playthroughs. My first playthrough is typically my personal 'canon' playthrough, and I personally like telling everyone what Sarissa did, but also keeping her on as pathfinder.
My opinion: I do not know if Sarissa made the right or wrong moral decision, but I think she made the correct tactical decision. Regardless, I think she deserves a second chance, the same second chance that Ryder may need at some point in the future. Ryder is trying to set an example for future pathfinders and the Initiative/Nexus: own your decisions/mistakes and make them known, but also provide a path for forgiveness and second chances.

Hmmm. Including the squadmates or just on Shepard? And for ME2 and 3 are ammo powers allowed? I haven't actually done no power use, although when I started with ME1 I first played soldier and didn't hardly use powers out of some ignorance. In any case, ME3 would probably be the easiest for this because of the weapon balance and low number of enemies fought at once. ME1 would not be entirely horrible if squad powers are allowed. ME2 would be the trickiest. Soldier in that game absolutely no powers would be a bit of a grind. I guess LE gives more ammo, but OG ME2 you would probably have ammo problems early and need to melee. If ammo powers allowed, it would be less painful, and probably not too bad after some weapon upgrades are researched. That really would be interesting, depending on what rules you'd want to follow. Are ammo powers still gunplay? Is bullet-time still gunplay? What about the flash and inferno grenades? I may give this a try And what about certain class passive bonuses like the Soldier's storm speed, or the Infiltrator's sniper time dilation?

Let's twist things around a bit. How about ME1: Vanguard, ME2: Soldier with Biotic Talent, then ME3: Infiltrator with Biotic Talent? In ME1, she is a seasoned L3 biotic. After the battle of the Citadel, she is rewarded heavy class N7 Armor, for her efforts in stopping Saren & Sovereign. The Normandy is attacked, she dies, and is brought back to life two years later by Cerberus. A sh*t load of money was spent to make it happen. Her original biotic implant was irreparable, so they gave her a new one. Unfortunately, throughout ME2, she is still healing, not just the scars on the outside. She's been dead for two years, so it's possible that the healing process results in her biotics being temporarily subdued. She has to rely more on her weapons and as well as the stimulant that enables Adrenaline Rush. She has the strength to use a biotic ability, just not as much as she did two years prior, for the time being. During her six months in Alliance custody on Earth, she decides to take a more tactical approach to combat for the impending invasion, putting less emphasis on her biotics (limit to one powerful projectile). Her armor and omnitool is upgrade as such, equipped with advanced cloaking mechanism to gain a deadlier upper hand in the battlefield, and instead of a standard omniblade, her omnitool is adjusted to project a blade with an electrical field. This scenario represents my Shep. In this scenario, Shepard is always a biotic. The difference is in the "supporting" combat and tech talents. Basically Shepard is changing the talents used to support her biotics, based on tech or armor abilities. Different tactical approaches to deal with different threats. You could also see it as an Alliance > Cerberus > back to Alliance thing based on the priorities of those organizations at the time. I am rushed for time; I may reply again later with more thoughts.

Another Question: would you consider this scenario canonically plausible? ME1: Shepard is a Soldier with a Biotic Talent ME2: Shepard is now a Vanguard ME3: Continues to be a Vanguard In ME1, she isn't a powerful biotic, but what she can do is still very effective in combat. Between ME1 and Normandy attack, it's possible that she decided to hone her biotic skills more, with an emphasis on close range combat. Instead of losing everything, she comes back from the dead stronger than ever, and with a vengeance Mad Max Shotgun style (in a mostly Paragon sort of way) If a player's Shep is a Biotic, I don't know what kind of Biotic implant Cerberus gave to her while under the knife (maybe a L5 implant, considering Vanguards have them, or maybe she switched from L3 to L5 before she died?). Yeah that works fine in my opinion. Another way to look at it: Soldier with a biotic talent is already a Vanguard, just more heavily focused on the combat side of things. Switching to the actual biotic class adds more focus to the biotic side of things. You lean into this angle in your own post. Another idea: Soldier with a biotic talent is already a Vanguard, just more heavily focused on the combat side of things. Post-ME1 and pre-ME2, Shepard started honing her biotics more. ME2 picks up after Shepard has improved her biotics, including figuring out "Biotic Charge".

Julie Shepard (ME3 LE):
1. Attacked Cerberus HQ and recovered the Prothean VI. Discovered that the Citadel was the Catalyst, and that the Reapers took control of it and brought it to Earth. Also, Kai Leng died like a chump (as expected). The last one dead was a Phantom (also as expected).
2. Rallied the galaxy and headed to Earth.
3. Took out a big Reaper cannon so a fleet could land.
4. Headed across No Man's Land, then used a missile battery to take out a Reaper Destroyer that was blocking a beam to the Citadel. Took the beam up the Citadel... barely.
5. The Illusive Man had gained control powers and tried to stop Shepard from destroying the Reapers. Shepard got him angry then shot him when he lost control.
6. Then the ending flew off the rails (as it always does) and something something Starchild something something I chose Destroy.

The Lazarus Project f---ed up and installed the wrong implants, and Shepard does not have the heart to tell them. That is what Paragon Shepard would do, what about Renegade Shepard? Question: if I wanted Shepard to be a Vanguard in Mass Effect 1, then a Soldier with one biotic ability in Mass Effect 2, how would this work canonically (despite all of the money Cerberus has, they couldn't install a similar, or stronger implant, making her biotics more subdued in ME2)?? How could that possibly make sense?? I see two ways: SCENARIO 1. In ME1, take Sniper Rifles or Assault Rifles as the bonus talent. Build around the weapons aspect instead of the biotic aspect. Maybe something like this? Lvl 53 Vanguard: 12 Pistols (Master) 12 Shotguns 08 Assault Training (Advanced) 08 Tactical Armor (Advanced) 01 Throw (Basic) 00 Lift 06 Warp (Advanced) 12 Barrier (Advanced) 12 Sniper Rifles/Assault Rifles (Master) 12 Shock Trooper 08 Charm/Intimidate (12 at the end because of the 4 free points earned during the one playthrough) 04 Spectre Training (Basic) You can get to level 57 by the end of ME1 (Legendary Edition), so the extra 4 points can go into Tactical Armor (for Master Shield Boost). Or you drop Barrier to Advanced and put points into both Charm and Intimidate if you want more conversation options. A soldier with a biotic bonus talent would probably work better in this scenario, but Barrier is still good in the Legendary Edition (Immunity no longer worth it in my opinion). SCENRIO 2. If I recall, I do not think you overhear any conversation (over comms) between Dr. Michel and Tali.
I know Chakwas has a comment like "It's good to have Tali back. I made sure we are well stocked with dextro-based <whatever>." or something like that, but I do not recall if Dr. Michel has any similar such comments.
It has been a while since I recruited Dr. Michel in my playthroughs. Sorry that I could not be of more help.

You and I clearly have different opinions on the ME3 Adept and Sentinel. The only real difference between the ME3 Adept and Sentinel is that the Adept has native quick-priming biotic powers for health-only enemies (Pull + Singularity). I suppose the Sentinel has Lift Grenades for that, but they are a limited resource so I tend to ignore them, much like I ignore Cluster Grenades on the Adept most of the time.
With the ability to take Liara and Javik with you for about 90% of the game, the Adept and Sentinel can play pretty much the same: - Enemies with health? Liara and Javik use Pull and Singularity > you throw. - Enemies with armor? Use Warp then throw.
Sentinel has an advantage where you have native Overload to remove the shields from the few enemies that have them > Liara/Javik with Singularity/Pull > you throw. Sentinel also has Tech armor for native damage protection. So for most of the game the Sentinel feels like an Adept but with more tools. Adept can get damage protection (Barrier/Fortification/Defense Matrix) or shield removal (Energy Drain) from bonus powers, but Sentinel already has those tools natively.
Calling the Engineer a "worse-Infiltrator-but-with-Overload" is kind of odd. I mean I get the sentiment but Infiltrator with Energy Drain (and no cloak) does not quite make it an Engineer. Since Overload can both prime and detonate -- Energy Drain can really only prime on most targets -- Engineer can alternate Overload and Incinerate on tougher enemies to alternate fire and electrical explosions. Also, Sabotage > Overload cannot be dodged and can kill groups of weak enemies quickly.
You can play around with powers to make the Engineer interesting, but any Engineer build outside of Sabotage + Overload + Incinerate is just a gimmick build. Gimmick builds can be absolutely be fun -- fun is good! have fun! -- but they are still gimmick builds.

Julie Shepard (Infiltrator, ME3 LE): 1. Rescued a Turian platoon on Tuchanka.
2. Helped the Turian platoon disarm a big bomb on Tuchanka.
3. Talked the Asari Councillor. She told Shepard to pick up an artifact from Thessia.
4. Went to Thessia to recover the artifact. The Reapers were a minor annoyance. Javik was an asshole (but what else is new?). Kai Leng showed up and cheated Shepard out of the artifact by activating a cutscene.
5. Traynor tracked Kai Leng to Sanctuary. Shepard went to Sanctuary to beat the crap out of Leng. Leng was gone but Shepard did get to see Miranda (biotically) punch her father out of a window.
6. Went looking for Dr. Garneau. Garneau was dead, but they discovered more about Leviathan.
7. Rescued Ann Bryson from a dig site.
8. Found Leviathan, or rather Leviathans. Convinced them to join the war effort. (Forget to hit record, so I missed capturing a really funny death where I exited the mech just in time to step on an exploding grenade.)
Also discovered I missed picking up the Raider shotgun from the dig site. I either have to reload a previous save to go pick it up, or purchase it from a store. It is *only* about 10,000 credits from a store, so I can purchase it and beat an Armax Arena match to get those credits back.
NEXT UP: Fuel Reactors, Cerberus Fighter Base, and Communications Hub. These are the remaining missions before I throw the big party and start the end game. Also I have a lot of video editing to do for the missions I just documented.

No you cannot chain Stasis > Warp > Throw. Warp will detonate Stasis, but it will not prime after detonating a biotic combo. Overload > Warp > Throw will work as a chain. The only double-biotic chain I have seen is Slam > Lash with Javik because of how those powers work. I was using that as an example of successive cooldown effects; the priming doesn't necessarily matter. What I'm asking here is if both of these perks on one character could allow me to cast three powers in a row, no cooldown whatsoever. If you are lucky, yes. The 15% chance from Offensive Mastery is about 1 in 6 chance (or almost in 1 in 7 chance) of not causing a cooldown, so it will occur but not often. It can help Stasis and Lash the most since they have evolutions that give a percent chance of not causing a cooldown. Will it be worth it? Maybe? Probably? Depends on how play the Sentinel and whether that matters. Most of the time you probably will not see it nor care. It can be useful when it does occur, but you also may miss it as well. Like if you are taking Javik and Liara with you, then they will probably be doing most of the priming for you on most enemies (Singularity and Pull) with you just using Throw to detonate; not much use for the no-cooldown thing if you do get it. But that is not always the case. It could be good against tougher enemies like Brutes for example, where avoiding the cooldown on Warp could help a bit when it does happen. Try it out for yourself and see what you think.

Just wanted to post here because I was testing some weapons, and it doesn’t seem like the weapons have their patch 1.05 stats. I have original ME3 on pc, and Legendary Edition on ps4. Here is what I found: Original N7 Eagle clip capacity = 24 LE version clip capacity = 18 Original M-77 Paladin clip capacity = 3 LE version clip capacity = 4 Original M-11 Wraith rank 1 spare ammo = 18 LE version rank 1 spare ammo = 10 I believe that all weapons have been restored to their pre patch 1.05 state in the Legendary Edition. Since those were actually multiplayer balance changes that were ported into single player for convenience and there is no multiplayer in the LE, I guess Bioware cut those changes. Has anyone tested any other weapons to confirm that some are definitely in a post-patch 1.05 state? I think you are correct that all weapons have been restored to their pre-patch 1.05 state. I have not looked in any files, but I did play around with the Javelin for a bit. Comparison used: - Level 60 Infiltrator (so enemies have max stats). - Javelin V with Concentrator mod + Spare Ammo (no damage barrel) - Fortification as bonus power with Power Synergy evolution (for the power damage to disruptor ammo) - Specced for damage and sniper rifle damage, including bonuses in Tactical Cloak. Disruptor Ammo for max damage. Original Mass Effect with patch 1.05 (Cerberus Lab mission): Cloaked Shepard could one-shot kill a fully-shielded Cerberus Centurion and Cerberus Engineer. Mass Effect 3 Legendary Edition (Cerberus Fighter Base mission): Cloaked Shepard failed to kill any fully-shielded Cerberus troops (Centurian, Engineer, or Nemesis). Noted differences in gear (note that I do not think these matter to test since I think these bonuses are additive): - ME3LE Shepard did not have Concentrator Mod at max (provides some extra damage as well as sniper time dilation) - ME3LE Shepard did not have max weapon damage armor (missing one armor piece, so -10% weapon damage compared to original ME3 Shepard) Someone would have to look in the original ME3 files and Legendary Edition files to see the differences. I do not know if the original (unpatched) ME3 stats are still floating around the Internet or not. I have no idea where to look in the game directories for these files, or if I need certain tools/utilities/applications to view the particular files.

For Julie Shepard (ME3 LE), I spent several hours over the past few days just grinding matches in Armax Arsenal Arena, recouping some of the credits I spent on purchasing and upgrading weapons from stores (Valiant, Black Widow, and today the Indra). I played almost 120 matches -- Super Elite Reapers on Wingman-- to get nearly 1.2 million credits.
I should be ready to start playing missions again soon.

Julie Shepard (Infiltrator, ME3 LE): 1. (two days ago) Played some matches in Armax Arena to unlock stuff and receive arena challenges.
2. (today) Completed all arena challenges. Died several times on the Reaper Solo challenge which bothered me. Died several more times on the final Unusual Scores (Fatal Error) challenge which bothered me even more. The Marksman Sniper Infiltrator can be fun, but it is focused on a single target at a time and has difficulty dealing with groups. At times it makes me wish I went with my original idea, which is sort of a replay of Cloak + Sabotage + Proxy Mine (+ Cryo Ammo) with shotgun (Claymore). But the main arena missions are done, so I am content with that for now.
NEXT UP: Grinding matches in the arena to farm a lot of credits. Buying both the Valiant and Black Widow was not cheap and I want to make sure I have enough credits to upgrade all my weapons and have enough left over for NG+ to upgrade some of them more.

Charge + Nova build essentials: - Charge: Radius - Weapon Synergy - Barrier
- Nova: Force and Damage, Half Blast, Pierce
- Incendiary Ammo: Squad Bonus, Headshot Damage, Explosive Burst
- Assault Mastery: Damage, Weight Capacity, Shotgun Damage
Nova give you 1.5 seconds of invulnerability, so with Half Blast you can get that twice (total 3 seconds) before you lose all your shields. So with a light enough weight, Biotic Charge can be about 3-second cooldown, letting you do Charge > Nova > Nova > repeat until everyone is dead. You can also work in some shooting and do Charge > Shoot > Nova (+ reload) > Nova > repeat. This build works well with 3-4 second recharge on Biotic Charge. Bonus powers: Reave for priming and detonating biotics on anything. Fortification if you want a little extra damage protection. General-purpose charge-only build: Same as above, except swap out Nova for Pull and Shockwave. Can drop Shockwave if you want only three powers with a controller and plan to use Reave. Pull: Radius, Expose, Double Pull. Shockwave: Radius, Distance, Lift. Other builds: If you ever feel adventurous, try playing a build without Charge (Nova optional, or required if you really want adventure).

Julie Shepard (Infiltrator, ME3 LE): 1. Responded to an alarm in the Citadel Archives. Fought more of the CAT6 losers and discovered their leader was... a Cerberus-manufactured Shepard clone? Okay... also Brooks was a traitor and tried to trap everyone in vaults. Escaped the vaults and chased after the clone.
2. Boarded the Normandy before it took off. Beat the crap out of the clone and kicked it off the ship (literally). Tali shot Brooks when she tried to escape.
I had not played for about a week so I was a bit rusty. Died a few times in the archives and the Dry Dock sequence, but took out the clone first try because Infiltrator Clone may be the easiest clone.
NEXT UP: Silversun Strip shenanigans. Armax Arsenal Arena challenges, and probably some credit farming/grinding in the arena.

Julie Shepard (Infiltrator, ME3 LE):
1. Helped Aria retake Omega. Aria strangled Petrovsky to death.
2. Met with the Quarians, helped them destroy a Geth Dreadnaught. Rescued Legion's backup. Punched Han Gerrel.
3. Destroyed some Geth jamming towers and rescued Admiral Korris.
4. Went into the Geth Concensus to shut down some servers.
5. Attacked a Geth base on Rannoch and destroyed a Reaper that was transmitting Reaper code to the Geth. The Geth were destroyed.
6. Visited Anderson's apartment. Anderson called and gifted it to Shepard. Got invited to lunch by Joker and met some Alliance clerk named Brooks. The meeting was a trap, set up by some merc group. Survived the ambush and reconvened at the apartment with the crew. Liara tracked down a casino owner that sold weapons to the merc group.
7. Attended a party at the casino. Managed to find the casino owner but he was already dead. Managed to call the person that tried to kill Shepard and they threatened each other. Went back to the apartment to regroup.

I played some more Julie Shepard (Infiltrator, ME3 LE) and started the Omega DLC with the Valiant... only to wonder if I made the right purchase. So I reloaded a previous save and tried the Valiant again on the Cerberus Fighter Base mission. Then I tried the mission again with the Black Widow. Then I tried the mission again with the Viper.
At the moment, I think I prefer the Viper for most enemies, but the Valiant or Black Widow for the tougher enemies since they deal much more damage more quickly.
I will probably go back to the Valiant and restart the Omega DLC again. As much as I like this "Marksman Sniper Infiltrator" build, my favorite Infiltrator builds have nothing to do with sniping and this playthrough is continuing to prove that. I am fighting the urge to go back to a shotgun/power combo build.

Julie Shepard (Infiltrator, ME3 LE): 1. Delivered packages to people on the Citadel.
2. Went to Tuchanka to go cure the genophage. Took the Dalatrass's deal and convinced Padok Wiks to sabotage the cure.
3. Went to the Citadel and stopped a coup attempt by Cerberus. Convinced Ashley to stand down, then shot Udina.
4. Eavesdropped on conversations, fixed some medi-gel sabotage (hello Conrad), and convinced Balak (and the remaining Batarians) to join the war effort. Ashley decided to go join Hackett instead of the Normandy.
5. Scanned planets. Talked to some crew members in my cabin (Traynor, James, Diana Allers).
6. Destroyed an Ardat-Yakshi monastery. No survivors.
7. Back to the Citadel: - Delivered more packages. - Brokered a trade deal with Medi-gel. - Stopped some mercs from killing Din Korlak, with an assist from Zaeed. I forgot Zaeed survived the Suicide Mission. - Beat Garrus in a sniping contest. Julie Shepard is a "Marksman Sniper Infiltrator"; Garrus never stood a chance at winning. - Javik is terrible at speeches. Sorry (now-depressed) citizens. - Also talked with James, Liara, Steve Cortez, and Miranda. - Bought the Valiant sniper rifle.
