Maybe there something in the Silent Plains that might be valuable to the right person?
We know that's where Dumat was finally killed. I think the Ingirsh (a human tribe) lived there at one point too. According to the Chantry, they gave up worship the Maker for a Demon similar to how the Neromenians did (could this be the forgotten 8th old god?) so they could defend themselves against Neromenian invaders.
Silent plains is also mentioned by Merrill
Makes me wonder if this is a much older legend.
I also remember reading about a Elvhen library sinking into the dessert sands. The only deserts in Thedas I can think of it the ones in the Anderfels, western Orlais, Sea of Ash, and Silent Plains. Since DA4 is focusing on Northern Thedas, then maybe that library is located there?

I've suggested before that the elves continuing to remember Mythal, helped her maintain her identity in the Fade, so I think Arvaarad could be on to something with regard to the gods actively wanting their worshipers to remember them constantly and remind other people about them, should they suffer a fatal blow. Also it would explain why Solas does dislike the Dalish so much. It is not just maintaining a tradition he despises. It is the fact that they are actively helping the gods to survive and remember who they are wherever it is he has trapped them. Just because they cannot communicate with their followers doesn't necessarily mean they can't hear them. So if he is planning on destroying the gods in some way, he doesn't needs people around who may be able to assist them reviving at a later date. Also, the Dalish are remembering him in a way that could interfere with his own immortality. It’s so far off from his personality that he probably has to regard death as permanent — whatever is reborn into the Fade would be Fen’Harel in full. I do think it will be functionally impossible to kill the evanuris, if it turns out they work like this. If only because it would be deeply disturbing if the only way to “win” is by destroying every Dalish artifact and wiping a bunch of minds. Especially if the Inquisition (and by proxy, the Chantry) are involved... big yikes. Plus, the only way that kind of project works is if the old ideas are replaced, not just removed, which would put us back at square one except facing down an even more powerful, even more all-encompassing singular god. A more feasible strategy is to perhaps re-shape the Creators into friendlier spirits, which would mean the Dalish tales are helpful instead of harmful. Like you mentioned, Hakkon works in that way — he doesn’t die permanently, but rebirthing gives him a personality reboot, as long as his more fanatical followers are dealt with first. Or perhaps we’ll find that the modern world has generated many more gods, with the Creators now vying for attention within a much larger pantheon. I don't think it's going to happen, but BioWare did give us an opportunity to genocide a whole race of people such as the Krogan, Geth, Arachni, etc in Mass Effect. That said, modern Dalish misremember the Evanuris are friendlier than how they truly were. Such as Falon'Din being a friend of the dead who guides souls to the afterlife, Ghilan'nain being goddess of Halla and navigation, etc. I just hope if the Evanuris and or Forgotten Ones are released they won't be relegated to side quest boss fights.

So you think one of the figures is Andruil then? We'd talked about this recently, and there is evidence to suggest it. Andruil's also known to have a spear hotter than the sun. Personally, I think she's been given a Spa Day at one of Ghilan'nain's corrupting wells. Of course the opposite, if he was the one himself who painted it, then its likely to just mark the history that he has witnessed. That was my thought too - artists will art. We're just seeing a slice of time later in the game, if this even happens in-game. This mural might just be strictly for the teaser as a hint to the events in DA4. It may not be more than that. I was going through WoT when I saw this statue in the deep roads. The headdress looks almost the same, but not quite as crescent shaped as the one we saw in the trailer. Maybe its an early concept?

The images of these cities are nice and all, but I hope they don't do the BioWare overcompensation where they'll focus so much attention to the cities because people complained we couldn't explore Orlais in DA:I.
Hopefully they'll find a nice balance between cities and open world zones.

the 2 races that are from beyond the seas of Thedas (Humans and Qunari) Wait, what? Humans aren't native to the continent? I haven't read any of the books, was this in one of them? It was mentioned as part of the lore in DA:O and the World of Thedas book. Basically, humans are supposedly not native to Thedas and they came from the north via ships. From there they spread. Dalish Elves believe that the arrival and contact with humans caused them to lose their immortality. Qunari are also from the north, so I wonder if they came from the same continent?

I always speculated that the Executors are planning on invading Thedas when the time came. As it stands, the 2 races that are from beyond the seas of Thedas (Humans and Qunari) end up invading. Maybe the Executors are different this time?

One of the things that is a bit off putting about this trailer...and indeed the marketing in general up to this point... "No magic hand, no ancient prophecy." This feels a little like they are throwing their previous protagonists under the bus a bit... and a case of audience perception driving reality and not author intent coupled with a little over correction here. Afterall all three of the previous protagonists were fairly normal. The Warden was just a soldier hopped up on super darkspawn blood, Hawk was just Hawk, and the Inquisitor, even with the mark, was still a fairly normal person who just happened into their role by accident. One of the best uses of the 'Chosen One' trope honestly. So yeah, its just a little annoying that they would essentially give into fan perception like this and not stick by their own work... But on the other hand its not that big of a deal because regardless these are the kinds of characters I typically like playing or enjoying regardless. I generally prefer Hawk/ Ryder to the Inquisitor/ Shepard. And maybe this will mean we won't be a Theadosian noble this time so I will be looking forward to that. I wonder if it could be an(other) sign of the infamous overcompensation that Bioware likes to do at times? I'm not opposed to having a more Hawke-styled/Not!ChosenOne character again, though I do wonder a bit why they spell it out so directly? I mean, I won't expect that Bioware really gets how... weirded out some players were with the whole Herald schtick.
I think it was their way to telling fans that the Inquisitor (and Hawke/Warden) won't be returning as a PC.

I wouldn't worry too much about Solas face in the trailer since its not in-game footage.
As for the Tevinter image. I knew that they used magic to keep crumbling buildings in place and to hold them up. I but I never imagined they had floating structures.

I remember it was said that the Architect was supposed to be in Here lies the Abyss, but was scrapped.
What if they decide to go through with bringing back the Architect? Maybe he knew of Corypheus exploits and seeks to recreate and advance them. He might have discovered one of Ghilan'nain's labs and is experimenting?

They looks pretty healthy, so they might be generic dragons. Or the last two Old Gods are still free from corruption and are freed from their prison before the darkspawn get to them. Whilst I've always felt they had to be already tainted in their prison because of the fact the wardens can hear them, the story is meant to be that they are fine until the darkspawn break through and corrupt them. So if that is true, if the Old God prison was breached by something other than darkspawn they would be untainted. Since the group is fighting darkspawn and the dragon(s) is behind them, could it actually be an ally? Yeah, I thought of the possibility as well. The way its portrayed makes it seem like the dragons are also fighting the Darkspawn.

That said, this new picture shows that lady Crow featuring. I can hardly see them having two Crows in the mix, so it could be the lady is avenging the death of their friend. I'm interested in those 2 dragons behind them. Seeing as they are fighting Darkspawn could they be the last 2 Old Gods? They looks pretty healthy, so they might be generic dragons.

It was the right choice if the goal was to prove they are the overhyped hacks many said they were since they can’t even tell a complete story correctly, something even children can do. Well, I still hold out some hope that the Inquisitor will feature in a (controllable) secondary protagonist role. Same. If Inquisitor is going to make a cameo then I hope they are controllable. I didn't like how they did Hawke. Speaking of Hawke, I wonder if there will be an option to sacrifice the Inquisitor? We can do that with Warden and Hawke, so it might as well be tradition at this point.

While I am happy with what we've gotten in the last year or so, I hope it will be more substantial than just another image with a voice over. Maybe a full on 3D trailer? But based on what we've been shown they're still in early production, so I'm not sure what else they could do besides what they did last time with #dreadwolfrising

The story was about the Dalish in Arlathan, but this image doesn't strike me as Dalish. But... maybe the cloak trim. Maybe the elves of the north are quite a bit different from their southern kin? I was about to mention this too. The southern mages might have access to more ancient elvhen magic thanks to living in Arlathan forest. Or maybe it was just particular clan? Or maybe this is recently rediscovered gear and magic that they got by following the book? Either way, Ghilan'nain being mentioned again gives me a sense of foreboding. She's been mentioned quite a lot lately. The book leading them to all these Elvhen ruin is suspicious as well. To me, it looks like whoever is writing this is using them. Probably to collect these artifacts. Ghilan'nain is goddess of guides and navigation and that book sure is guiding these 2 to specific locations.

This talk about Solas agents awakening before him reminds me of Sketch, which is a former companion of Leliana who now seems very sketchy given all the information we've received in the last few years. Codex entry for him is So he doesn't have the accent that most City or Dalish elf has. We later find out that some of Solas' agents in Tevinter Nights lacked the distinct city or Dalish accent and mannerisms. Sketch doesn't seem to care about the plight of Elves and seem to relate more to the plight of mages. Maybe thats because he doesn't seem modern Elves as part of "his people." Lastly, in Wot2, Leliana tries writes to Sketch Seems like she speculates that Sketch was just a guise and that he was placed in Orlais by an "old Empire" I'm not sure how they were awakened and I'd hope we learn on that later.

Alright, who do we think these guys are? I am going with the following; 1) The Praetorian Guard: Secret service agents of the Archon 2) Ancient Elves in combat gear. 3) Executors 4) Fog warriors of Seheron My 1st thought was Elvhen Sentinels, especially with the gold armor plating with intricate designs on it. Although I am more curious about what they are fighting against. Only thing I see is what looks like the red lyrium vines attacking them.

While its true that Dwarves can't naturally enter the Fade in their sleep, we have seen cases where powerful magic can force a Dwarf there: the demon in the circle, Baroness, Torpor, etc. So maybe Solas did something similar where he transports their consciousness to the Fade and kill them there? I do wonder if Dwarves still living in the Thaigs are immune to it since they have stronger connection to The Stone?
On a side note, since the original Elvhen name for Skyhold was "the place where the sky was held." Then what could Sundermount have been originally called? Maybe "sundered mountain?" Since Titans are described as being mountain-sized then could it be where Mythal sundered (or killed) a Titan?

For a few years I always thought that Minrathous will fall or come close to it. I feel like them saying that it never fell during an invasion kinda jinx it in a way.
Not only that, but based on Calpernia's short story, we see that its (and the rest of Tevinter) a decaying city that's being held up by magic. Where its citizens care more about personal gain than helping the nation. We also find out that the family thats responsible for maintaining the Juggernauts are using the funding given to them to throw lavish parties and other luxuries instead.
Couple that with the Qunari researching magic, the Veil, lyrium and even recruiting Templars, I feel like Minrathous falling is not too farfetched. And thats not even including Solas and his agents probably stirring things up.

If I could know ahead of time that Solas was ALSO gonna be the villain of DA5 I would just kill myself right now. What if Solas does not become the main antagonist for 4? I think this is going to happen. Ever since Trespasser we learned about the Evanuris and I have low confidence that whatever his plan to keep them in place will work. Like most of his plans. The events in the comics also don't give me much faith, but we don't really know whats going to happen between the events in the comics and DA4. I doubt those red lyrium growths were part of his plans. I think by DA4 he'll be weakened in some way. Could be due to whatever ritual he's doing in the Fade and maybe he's trying to slow the spread of the red lyrium vines. I do hope they don't pull another DAI where the various faction wars took a back seat in favor of closing the Breach and defeating Corypheus.
