When I 1st saw the Elvhen Sentinels I instantly thought they looked like Solas and I figured he was a runaway ... then came all the revelations. With Fen'harel's statue looking like a guard dog in Mythal's temple, I can't help but wonder if Solas was originally one of her priests or similar? That Mythal later elevated him to the Evanuris' ranks since she saw his potential. Ghilan'nain was a "regular" elvhen whose talents proved useful enough for her to be included in the ranks of the evanuris. He seems to care about the People and maybe she believed he could help them in ways she can't?

I think the closest we can come to that would have to be the novels. While i haven't read either "The Stolen Throne" nor "The Masked Empire" from what I read of the overall plot it seems to have some inspirations from GoT

The character interactions and dialogue of DA2 is good, especially since they made it in roughly 2 years?
True, the characters were a bit too "tropey" but how they got along (or not) with each other and their relationship with Hawke was great. Hawke felt like a character whereas Inquisitor's dialogue all seem so neutral outside of DLC content.

I can see there being a conflict with Solas (Fen'harel) and Falon'Din. Assuming Falon'Din's acted as a guide to the Fade and Dirthamen keeping secrets then I can see someone like Solas who likes wandering the Fade to dislike both. Especially Dirthamen keeping what he knows about the Fade and other knowledge a secret from most people, except for Falon'Din due to their relationship.
That might explain why Falon'Din seems to challenge Elgar'nan in some myths because Dirthamen might know Elgar'nans weaknesses?

I'm fine with the small settlements we see in the Hinterlands and Crestwood. But Val Royeaux being the way it was was such a disappointment. I was expecting something similar to Denerim where we get to see the alienage, etc. I wasn't expecting a large place to see, but I wasn't expecting to be limited to just the market place. Another alternative big city such as Illium/ Omega was to Citadel

I am curious about where the Elves that worship the Forgotten Ones fit in all of this? Since DA:I there have been alot more mentions of them such as the staff of a High Priest of Anaris found in the Descent, Geldaurran's claim. By the end of Tresspasser it was said that the elves of the Tirashan are stirring. As it stands, Forgotten One's worshippers might live in that forest?

I'd imagine that researches under the Inquisition would be able to re-create a very very rudimentary Eluvian network that Solas and his agents can't use.
They already have plenty of samples of broken Eluvian shards that they can work with. Then they also have Morrigan and the Well of Sorrows knowledge. Dorian and his crew might be interested in doing the same since he did mention how he'd like to study and recreate (?) the Eluvian.
From a gameplay pov, it's not needed due to fast travel, but lore it can be very useful.

Seems as if those with some control over their Taint can hear a song coming from the Black City, such as Avernus dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Codex_entry:_Avernus's_Notes I wonder if Corypheus could still hear that song from the black city; hence, his obsession with going back there despite the original failed attempt? Besides the Taint, there must've been something there? Maybe somebody with the Taint is the only one that could use it? SInce there's some truth to Elvhen myths then maybe Solas did make a weapon (maybe it was Andruil's Void weapon?) to convince the Evanuris/ Forgotten One's to wait it out in their respective realms?

I just hope that the Inq will play a bigger/ better role than how Hawke was handled in DAI.
I'd be perfectly happy with Inq being an advisor-like role rather than a throwaway temp npc like Hawke was

I think no matter what happends, Solas will end up dying anyways. There's so much we don't know about how the world was. In either case, there are powers greater than Solas.

It was an interesting video and it was nice to see that such castles/ fortresses are possible to make IRL.
That said, with mages and enchanted weaponry being available in the world of Thedas, some of the strategical inaccuracies (?) are moot

Under the current team, I'd have to say no. We got the quest in Orlais when it came to "politics" and many people didn't like that. I personally like events leading to the Landsmeet and choosing the new king of Orzammar much better.

I do find it interesting that if brought to the Fade physically, Solas will say "Oh look! The Black City! So close that you could almost touch it " He was not scared, but pretty excited and The fact that even spirits and demon fear to be near it is quite interesting. Assuming that Arlathan = Black City, could it mean that Arlathan was made with the same materials as the Eluvians? Eluvians can be infected with the Blight as seen in DAO, they're also gold if not activated and remain unchanging in the Fade even it's shattered pieces

There was an old theory that the Old Gods could hold the "key", especially since the mural that I linked looks like there might be 7 "keyholes" around and there are 7 Old gods. That and the keyholes somewhat looks like the Ancient Elvhen locked doors we see in Solasan:

I do believe that the Golden city is a prison of sorts, mainly for the "Sun" that Elgar'nan defeated. When edited this mural: Looks like a City and within that City is what appears to be a Sun/ starburst symbol If you also look closely, that Sun symbol is surrounded by what looks like black peacock feathers. Those feathers where also only seen in the DAO opening when talking about how the Magisters received the Blight when they entered the City That said, I do think that the Blight could be a failsafe to prevent people from freeing the Sun that was sealed deep inside. According to Elvhen Lore, the Sun destroyed all (most?) life in a fit of jealousy and even hurt the Earth (Stone/ Titans?) So if anything, a Blighted world might be better than one that's destroyed by the Sun? At least life continues in a way and it might not even affect Spirits, maybe even Titans?
