You literally have the option to sacrifice your previous player character to a mountain-sized spider demon. If that ain’t dark, then I don’t know what is. Makes me wonder if DA4 will give us the option of killing off the Inquisitor? All DA protagonist (even the Orlesian Warden) has a chance of being killed off ... it's kinda Dragon Age tradition at this point. Maybe the Inquisitor will sacrifice his/her life in order to jump start Solas redemption?

I wonder if being locked up (I think?) and with only the faith in the Maker/ cause is what initially attracts the spirit and the would-be seeker is only tranquil for a very short amount of time until they are touched by that spirit that wants to help them?

I would like to see the Evanuris! I get the feeling that through Solas' actions, he will end up accidentally freeing the Evanuris; although I think that Falon'Din and Elgar'nan are the most dangerous of the lot. The Tirashan elves are also acting up as of the end of Trespasser and they are said to worship the Forgotten Ones, too ... so they might be released accidentally. A lot of Solas plans have unforeseen consequences such as erecting the Veil causing elves to lose their immortality. Giving Corypheus the Orb not knowing that Corypheus found a way of "effective immortality" and it was by luck the Inquisitor messed up his ritual and ended up getting the Anchor.

Does anyone else hope that there's a third option beyond kill or redeem that let's Solas be put on trial and judged by some kind of international court, like Exalted Council, instead of by Inky or the New Protag? I'm all for player agency and choice but it feels weird to me that a person whose obviously affected thousands of lives will be ultimately judged by a single person, esoecially when that person is emotional compromised when it comes to that decision. I think that Solas is going to end up dying regardless of whether we "redeem" him or not. He did say: "I walk the Din'anshiral. There is only death on this journey. I would not have you see what I become." whatever he is doing, it seems like it'll lead to his death (whatever that means to an Elvhen. If we redeem him, maybe he'll do a heroic sacrifice?

If we're going to have a base then I hope we can fully repair it (preferably customize it too) I am still disappointed that Skyhold isn't fully repaired.
Regarding the situation with Solas ... I hope that it does take center-stage for the plot of DA4. I don't want what they did to DA:I with the Mage-Templar conflict have have it be pushed off to the side (and quickly resolved) due to a larger threat taking place

Assuming that s/he's not left in the Fade,I am quite happy with Hawke's epilogue moving back to Kirkwall while Varrick becomes the Viscount.
Looking back, Hawke has lost quite a lot in the course of DA2: father, one of the siblings, lived Kirkwall as a indentured servant for questionable people. Potentially losing another sibling (unless they go to the Chantry or become a Warden) then mother and much more. So I am happy that Hawke gets a somewhat happy ending.

I can see Calpurnia making a return, maybe even being a companion?
As another poster said, her fate is rather ambiguous. That and she not only had a short story written about her, but she also made a cameo appearance in Magekiller whose protagonist was her lover.

I can't say I really happy about it, but the codices and the 1st World of Thedas have always made it clear that what is written is based on the observation of that particular writer and as such biases can exist.

I remember Cole once saying that some of the demons encountered in the thaig/ hissing wastes were once dwarves not sure what exactly that means.
Then there's also ancient dwarves being able to seal spirits. Seeing how dwarves may have been enslaved (and befriended) by the ancient elvhen perhaps they learned some of that spirit binding from them using lyrium? With the right device, lyrium can be used to manipulate the Veil like what we saw in Golems of Amgarrak

Since solas has so many friends in the fade it could be assumed that they would fight for him? Could Also possess people ? Not gonna big to be shocked if we have a companion or advisor that counters that such as a demon I suppose it depends on the type of "spirit" they represent I can't imagine Solas using them in combat ... they're more valuable to him (sentimental-wise) than the elves that he's accumulating. Once they're become corrupted and/or die that will be the end of that being. It might be reborn into something similar, but it won't be the same spirit. Much like how the Wisdom spirit in his quest line died.

They did something like that in Andromeda where we briefly played as Ryder's siblings.
I would like it if they did the same for the Inquisitor if s/he makes an appearance in DA:4. I would especially like it if they makes us briefly play as Inquisitor (even if it doesn't involve combat) when we deal with the Solas

I'm fine with the HoF not making an appearance in game. I think it's better since I fear any appearance from HoF will be disappointing kinda like how they ended up treating Hawke.
It would not surprise me if they decide that the HoF ended up dying during their search for the cure and/or going to their calling depending on how much time as elapsed between DA:I and DA 4

Assuming he lives, it seems like he'll live life as a malnourished hermit. Might not even take part in the Rebellion even if he's not attached to Hawke and friends.
I am guessing blowing up the Chantry and jump starting the Mage rebellion was his end-goal. Killing him is probably what Justice (and Vengeance) think is the right thing to do.
I wonder what Cole would have to say about Justice/Vengeance-Anders?

Can Justice/Vengeance be removed? It seems as if they've merged to a degree.
I am reminded of the Avvar having Spirits dwell within a young mage until they're ready, but Spirit and host remain distinct individuals if that one quest is an indicator.
Can the ritual exercise any spirit from a hosts body or must both be willing? Anders might be willing, but Justice might not.

I think hedge mages is just a blanket (and offensive) term that the chantry used on non-chantry approved mages that are actively using their magic, mostly in a helpful way since a maleficarum are those use their magic to harm others. The Rivaini have hedge mages that are important to their culture, for example.
In the eyes of the Chantry I'm sure Solas will be considered a hedge mage.
I'm sure the Chantry considers Tevinter mages a separate category as Tevinter has Circles that formally trains their mages and they are also practicing their own version of Andrasteism.

There's a lot of dark stuff happening in DA:I, but the execution is pretty lackluster. For example, when we discovered that Tranquil were being killed to make those skull (whatever they're called) it was just a quick "I can't believe they've done this."
So many things are just in the background or just via codex/writing. Things were better in the DLC, but not by much.
If you get rid of the blood, gore and nudity, DA:I feels very "Disney-esque" as some have mentioned.
Overall, I care more about the story than any darker tones, but at the same time I do remember more quests from the previous games than in DA:I

Even if Dorian hates the Inquisitor and leaves, I can see him putting aside his feelings and help the Inquisition if it meant stabilizing Tevinter and preventing whatever it is Solas is planning.
For example, Leliana was searching for the Warden (and Hawke) as potential candidates to become the Inquisitor despite having low approval and killing her at the temple.
That said, I don't think he'll be a companion. It seems like they're setting up Calpernia to return and perhaps she'll be the next tevinter mage companion? She did survive, she had her own short story and was even in the Magekiller comics

I would love for "Spellbinders" to become a playable mage class. Not sure if we'll be able to use the books, but the whole lore about how they bind spirits into books is in a way pretty messed up, and arguable even more so than blood magic since we know that spirits are people. Not really sure what spells they can use though since the purpose of binding those spirits is to augment/boost a mages spell. Perhaps it can use the Spirit school of magic that was present in DA:O?

I do remember Solas saying that in the days of Arlathan, there were Palaces floating in the sky or something like that. Maybe some of these legends are talking about those floating palaces --which I am some battles took place between the Elvhen-- and not necessarily Arlathan and/ or the Golden/Black City?

One way for them to do it is find a small piece of land far enough from humans and start from there ... but will they succeed at defending it?
Alternatively, they can hope that a human in a position of power will give them more rights and slowly work them into establishments such as education, etc. But will this also last? Will future generations repeal such elven rights?
Varric being the 1st Dwarf (maybe?) non-human leader of a major Thedosian city is a big deal and will set precedent, especially if his rule was prosperous.

I wonder if being bald have a special significance during the Ancient Elvhen times?
I know that the Sentinels in Mythal's Temple were bald (looked similar to Solas too). Then there's Shartan that's depicted as bald and lastly Zathrian.
I once jokingly thought that many Elvhen shaved their heads so that they could wear fancy headdresses (like Vivienne) and elaborate wigs
