Second, I have not idea what people actually consider good writing. Especially, when they keep saying BioWare had amazing writing in previous games and doesn't anymore when I personally think their writing has been at the same level since BG1: full of cheese and pop-culture references. I don't think Bioware's recent track record for plots is very good, but other aspects of the writing (characters, world building, etc.) are often terrific.

I definitely see that, but clicking the "learn more" just takes me to the store. Hopefully once the trial preload starts (whenever that is), this will change. Yeah it should, Origin just caused a huge confusion because a few days ago instead of "learn more" it said "get it now" so everyone that saw it, pressed Get it now including me. Now it just says learn more but it should change tomorrow. Ah, okay. I'm kind of hoping they preload before the 16th because it will likely take me a good 8 hours to download the game!

Yeah same here. No trial under access trials or anything. You don't see that? I definitely see that, but clicking the "learn more" just takes me to the store. Hopefully once the trial preload starts (whenever that is), this will change.

A few points:
1) This article is already being discussed on at least one other front page thread. No need for another one. 2) "Screaming" at anybody is not likely to result in a useful outcome (unless they are about to be hit by a bus, then by all means, proceed to scream at them!). 3) I've never had a problem with the voice acting in bioware games. I liked the VAs in DAI, and I've liked what little I've seen from this game.

I'm signed up for Origin Access, and I just pre-ordered the deluxe edition. My game library now has ME:A listed with a preload date of 3/17. There is no info regarding the play first trial through Origin Access.

Did the minimum CPU requirements get toned down? When they first came out, I could have sworn that the minimum AMD CPU was listed was FX-8350. Now it's the 6350, and the 8350 is the recommended CPU. I don't think they have? Unless they changed them immediately after releasing them, I've always seen the 8350 as recommended. I've got an overclocked 8320, so I'm hopeful with the requirements. Huh. Okay, I guess I've been worrying due to my poor reading comprehension. Sigh.

Mass Effect 2 has 48, 48 people! 48 perfect reviews. And yet, it's my least favorite Mass Effect game. Go figure.

I confess that I don't see the point in speculating about what other people will think about the game when we'll be able to experience it for ourselves in 2-7 days! TBH, everything I've seen thus far looks pretty damn awesome. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

It's a still image. There are literally no animations to see here. It's because the animations are literally so bad that they don't even move now. My fault for posting in a troll thread.

I'm not too, I'm buying new PC every 4-5 years... Sounds like when new consoles comes out as well. Do you pay 399$ for your new PC too? GTX 1080 can cost up 700$, that's wild. For me at least, consoles seem like the greater luxury. I don't own a television (and have never purchased one before), and I have to have a computer for my work, so buying somewhat more high quality hardware (though I've never had top of the line stuff) seems more reasonable than purchasing a lower end pc, a television, and a console. Plus, the games are often cheaper.

It never ceases to amaze me how different some people's priorities are from mine. I would never even consider the CC when it comes to when I would or wouldn't buy this or any other game.

AI looks pathetic. Way too easy. Yawn. Hopefully it actually presents a challenge at greater difficulty. No doubt they were playing on bronze.

Well, as previous comments in this thread demonstrate, I've been nervous about my Fx-6300 which doesn't meet the minimum requirements for the game. However, I just played the Battlefield 1 trial through origin access, whose minimum CPU requirements are also above my current system (though not by quite as much), and I'm happy to report that I was able to play the game on all high settings with perfectly decent frame rates at 1080p. This has me cautiously optimistic about being able to at least play MEA.

Speaking of the deluxe edition, do we know anything about the pathfinder elite weapon set? The deluxe edition (or was it preorder?) weapons in ME3 were some of my favorites in the entire game. Have we received any info about this new set? The Pathfinder Elite weapon set consists of one weapon from each of the 4 weapon classes: one assault rifle, one sniper rifle, one shotgun, one smg. They have white and blue (AI theme) art and are aesthetically Milky Way in origin. Their stats are better than the starter gear, but not game-breakingly so. They get surpassed by drops eventually, but you get the (level gated) blueprints to make higher level versions if you want to keep using them long-term and keep up with the power curve. The Scavenger Armor looks cool, and is a fully-body set with weapon related stat boosts. Comes with matching helmet, but you can wear other helmets with it if you prefer. Potato sold separately. Thanks!

My CPU (FX-6300) does not meet the minimum specs for MEA, but I'm hoping the game will be playable on lower settings anyway (recent games like TW3 and Doom run just fine on a mix of medium to high settings). I was thinking about buying Battlefield 1 and playing it a for a couple hours to see what kind of performance I get and then returning it. Do we think that BF1 performance would be a reasonably similar benchmark for MEA performance? What's your GPU and RAM? Between the recent benchmark release which looked terrible and Mike Gamble's vague statements when he was asked to clarify them, I don't even really know what to think anymore. It will most likely not perform as well as BF1, but will be only slightly more demanding than DAI. That's the best guess we can make at the moment, I think. BF1 also has a trial up on Origin Access. Good suggestion, thanks.

GPU is R9 280 3GB. Not great anymore, but still more than minimum specs. RAM is 16 GB DDR3 Thanks for the info about BF1 on Origin Access. I might try that. If MEA is only a little more demanding than DAI, I think I might be okay. DAI ran fine on my machine with fairly high settings.

Not going to watch this, but can somebody comment on the quality of the music in the intro? ME1's intro had such an amazing score, it was definitely one major aspect that immediately drew me into the game and got me excited. Anything like that here?
