One thing I don't get in the mass effect universe is how on the one hand the ships are so compact and short on space that they have people hot bedding angled beds and cramped masses of bunks, then they have massive private bedrooms for one or two senior officers. Surely that would breed resentment in the ranks? Even if the officers had small rooms or there were a few rooms which were shared between two staff so cabins felt a bit more gradated rather than this massive jump. It's worth pointing out that the Pathfinder's Quarters are not the same as the Captain's Quarters. In Mass Effect 2 & 3, it made sense for Shepard's quarters to be a tad bigger, since Cerberus wanted things to be more luxurious and devs wanted the player to have their own spot on the ship. It makes sense for the Pathfinder too. The Pathfinder is literally the one in charge of finding a new world to colonize. His or her day-to-day consists of surviving hostile planets, fighting all sorts of dangerous wildlife, surviving attacks from native species, and surviving in general. The fate of his or her ark is in his or her hands. That's a ton of responsibility. If anyone deserves a good night's rest, it's the Pathfinder. Not to mention the one most likely having to deal with management and discipline of the crew and handling any drama that arises from living in such tight quarters when necessary and dealing with the political crap from the bosses on the Nexus. And you can bet the Pathfinder does have to do that. Pathfinder is the buffer between the politics and crew as well.

Peebee: And THIS is why I like traveling alone. Reminds me of when Liara and Shepard got into over Shep's driving in LotSB. Shepard: "What kind of weapons does this thing have." Liara: "It's a taxi. It has a fair meter." That scene and the following ones, more than anything, made me like Liara. Prior to that I felt lukewarm toward her.

the fqace just looks a bit too cartoony for my personsl taste. The model they used for Sara is quiet pretty so I'm not criticising that. I think it's just I don't think her face translated into the engine that well. I like the idea of the sarcastic engineer though I was thinking of going the same way with my Ryder except as a biotic in my case as I was going to be an Adept for my first run. I'd like to see how the Kett deal with my Singularities and shockwaves I'm curious is Ryder Military or Civilian? If they are Military then the limited hair options make sense I guess but if Ryder is Civilian then theres no damn excuse for shitty options. I was wondering that myself. Obviously Dad was Alliance military at some point, but maybe he retired to join AI. He might still be allowed to wear it as a retiree, but in real life that's usually reserved for ceremonial events. The kids...maybe they went to a military academy or served for a short time or were serving just up to the point of the Ai. SInce they supposedly have some sort of science or tech background, I'd say that have at least a four-year degree. They're young, so the only way I can see them having background like that is to go to the academy. Not sure if they have any actual combat experience. Also, the young, inexperience kid inherits the Pathfinder role, rather than it going to a more experienced officer. I think that has something to do with SAM and maybe having to pass that implant/skill/ability to a genetic progeny.

I'm just imagining the Nomad banter:
"Liam! Keep your elbows on your side of the seat!" "Gah, who farted?" "Stop! I need to pee!" "Are we there yet?" "Don't make me turn this car around!"

Daniel Suelflow @danielsuelflow is Andromeda a 100 hours+ game? I am so excited about the game. #space #N7 #andromeda #GameoftheYear #cantwait Ian S. Frazier @tibermoonI'm not allowed to say the number of hours yet, but I'll say this: you'll get your money's worth. I've put a couple thousand hours into ME3MP and I still haven't gotten to the final boss, I'm starting to feel ripped off. I finally made it to the end for the first time last month. Doing another run now starting from the beginning.

I thought the profile is leonine, more like some of the Cathar. I don't think it's fur though. Bone or cartilage again, I suppose? Andromeda needs a furry race. We need a Wookie analogue. I hope Ryder gets to call someone Chewy. I don't know about Chewy, but definitely we need to some some furry races. They can't all be leathery or boney

For me, ME2's horror mission was the collector ship. It was perfectly done in my opinion; properly eerie with a genuinely unsettling atmosphere and ambiance. It built up the tension nicely, not rushing you and there were no cheap jump scares. Yet the whole time, I was tensed up waiting for some of those cheap scares to come jumping out at me. It was great.

I may upgrade to the 1080 at some point in the near future. (Husband will want to kill me.) But the monitor...$1200 for a monitor. I'll wait on that.

To throw in a sinister motivation: maybe Jien or others lied about the whole project of connecting to the MW to get more decent tech people on board. Which could also foment a rebellion. There are all kinds of conspiracy theories out there about Jien Garson. I can't wait to see if any of them come close.

Boris Khlebnikov @gentleyahg Vetra so tall even for Turian? Ian S. Frazier @tibermoonNah, I meant by human standards. Boris Khlebnikov @gentleyahgWell. What is her approximately the height? 190cm? Ian S. Frazier @tibermoonI haven't measured, but I'd wager that she's over 2m when standing tall. - That's 6'6"+ for our neighbours down south... How tall are Turians supposed to be anyway? As an average height that is. I always had the impression that they were taller than humans but not by that much... Is there any height difference between genders for Turians? Also, I know it's unlikely but I really want a male Quarian for a squadmate. Has anyone heard how big the squad will be? How many spots are left? That's an excellent question. Do we even know how tall our Ryders are? Or how tall our Shepards were for a relative comparison? I never got the feeling that Garrus was extreme in height, but it could be because Shep was very tall to begin with.

To those that are so open to spoilers...is it because you simply just want to soak up all the info you can about the game? Or is it cause you are just too impatient to wait until you play the game to experience much of the big reveals and secrets? A bit of both. Though I don't think we ever see any of the really big secrets prior to launch. With as much information as I can get, I have yet to feel a game's been spoiled for me. There are always surprises to be found when playing, both big and small. I will probably stay away from the forums for a few days after people start playing, just so I can do some discovery on my own.

I'm going with none of the above, though I think it will start a little slow-we wake up. Get a few others awake and then find we're lost, under attack, or some combination of them. Whatever it is, it will be a tutorial level of combat for everyone to get used to whatever new controls they're doing and hopefully give us some background.

Or maybe she had been Cerberus but at the last moment betrayed them. She used funds from Cerberus to finance the project. When they made it to Andromeda she decided she wasn't going to do this for Cerberus and other agents-Sloan and friends-discovered her duplicity against the organization and they tried to take over, but lost the fight and were exiled. It's also possible that she was inside Cerberus at one point and stole some of their tech to make the trip. It wouldn't have to even be Cerberus, but some other, previously unknown organization or big corporation that doesn't always have everyone's best interest in mind. Cerberus/ Cigarette smoking man isn't behind Andromeda Initiative for sure because it surly don't made unarmed ships and APCs Good point.

... Right, because people outside of the ship went outside butt-naked. I was thinking more of say a Kett ship attacking a civilian transport. How would you protect that civilian ship without weapons? Or should we just leave them to die? I would think an ship escorting a transport would be an armed warship, not a scout ship.

The DAI guide had a few extra pages of 'dev insight', if I recall. That guide also had a multiplayer random pack offered, not sure this one will. Ah, ok. I was thinking of getting it just for the cover. It's pretty.

It's hard to say from just reading that little line they give you in the description. But I can't imagine they'd give just bonus content in the guide and say it's worth the extra money. I didn't buy the Inquisition one, but if they gave a little extra content in game for that via the guide purchase, then I'd think they're doing it again for Andromeda.

I never started an RPG (with a character creator) as a male character, so sure, I'll start with female Ryder. Plus I also like Fryda Wolff's performance from what I heard so far. yeah the CC's are often as much fun to play with as the rest of the game sometimes. Generally speaking it dosen't take more than 20/30 minutes for me to create my characters in them though. Obviously going into MEA it'll take a little longer first time around because being a new game it'll have a few different options I hope to pick from than previous games. The options look like they could be better than DAI's anyway. But then it could hardly be worse in terms of the hairstyles at least anyway. I tend to be pretty bad at using BW's CC for some reason. My characters always end up looking the same. Now, don't laugh, but Sims 4 has a terrific CC that's very easy to use and I find I can make a lot of unique characters that end up looking reasonably realistic much more easily. Another thing I find with Bioware and most other games is color. I'll choose a dark hair color, get in game and it turns out to be way lighter. I haven't figured out how to adjust for that.

I haven't seen any game that hasn't had a good amount of skepticism posted by fans before launch. It's the nature of the beast. We see only a few bits and pieces and of course people are going to make assumptions based on only a partial picture. That said, while it's too late for Bioware to change anything at this point, I'm sure they'll take any feedback and constructive criticism to heart once we all actually do get to play.
Personally, I do want this game, did preorder and expect I'll enjoy it. I also take everything I see with a grain of salt and don't expect the game to be the "best I've ever seen." I can't think of any game that I can say that for.
I know that there are going to be things that I don't like. I do know there will be things I do like a lot and will probably find more of those. Perfection isn't something that's possible in any game. All I want is something to play and enjoy for a few hours when I have some down time.

I kinda wish they would not go the multi-species route but instead pick one race to be playable for that particular game in the future. Just as they do now with humans. So for example when the Ryder "legacy" is done, be it one game or several. They can focus on another species as protagonist for one or several games, for example Turian, female or male. Give me that or Multi-species choice in the future. Surely the human only thing can be done with Ryder, please bioware? There is so much more to explore in this universe theyve created. And giving us a chance to play another race really opens up how much we can explore them, their manners and culture. I hope at least. I personally would not buy a game that forced me to be something other than human. So having a game where you are only allowed to be Asari or Krogan would not work for me. And I think most people would feel the same. If anything, it would have to be a multi-choice species. And even then, someone will complain that their favorite was not among the choices.

One thing that would be cool, but that I don't think they will do, is if your squadmates or crewmembers could spend time there without you having to invite them all the time. Like if you are becoming friends with the engineer s/he could sitting in the couch and read. Things like that. Mostly so it don't become so lonely there. That would be cool... makes it seem a bit less big and empty if you can have other people show up from time to time to hang out. It also convinced me even further I need that pet pyjak to liven up the place (am I the only one who could never bring themselves to shoot the ones on Tuchanka...? Just me?) Nope, not just you. I couldn't do it, either.
