I have seen that there seem to be many people that see that comment as if he said: "there will only be fighting and that is all we have done on ME". I took it more that he meant that the fighting is in the majority of missions. I would be really surprised if there isn't any missions that can be solved without killing. Just like in OT the bigger part of the game WAS shoot the bad guy. That didn't mean that was all there was. Having recently played it too, that does only happen after you've slaughtered batarians by the bucketful. I wouldn't call it diplomacy so much as the option to only kill nearly everyone, not absolutely everyone. There's plenty of missions with options to reduce the death toll, but not combat free ones. I understand guys, but even so, he should've phrased it differently then. The way he says it makes it sound like we are forced to choose combat no matter the circumstance, and that isn't aways true in Mass Effect... I'm a bit suspicious of that statement though (maybe he understood the question differently than I did?), cause in the gameplay trailer, we can try to negotiate in a more peaceful manner with Sloan Kelly (at least that's what the choices make me believe), that is already a form of diplomacy for me (BUT I dunno the consequences of either so it doesn't count for much). I took his comment more to mean that there won't be any missions where there will be absolutely no combat-like totally stealth missions that some people have put on a wish list in another thread. I can't really remember any missions in any of the trilogy games where we had that. I'm thinking that this is where the gray area decisions we'll have to make come in. Like: let the Batarian go and save the civilians or kill the innocents and the Batarian only even a little fuzzier and less clear-cut as far as morality is concerned.

Surely the kit swapping is only going to be as far as you have leveled up into those builds? I don't see the game handing you everything from the get go. Quote: "you basically level up your character, you assign your points, and you can rearrange those points as you need to."So if you are offended that your Adept might go all Vanguard, don't spec any points into Vanguard (problem solved) That's how I took it. It doesn't mean you're going to be all-powerful with every single style capped. I think you'll still have to make choices about how you want to play. I'm keeping an open mind and waiting to see what they actually have planned. I did play an MMO that did something similar, though at some point you literally could max out all skills and abilities. I still don't think this is how ME will do it, but who knows? That said, I agree. Nobody is saying you'll have to swap out. Edit: Nope. I just read the article and it reads as though you can move your points around at will. A little strange to me, but then again, you still aren't forced to do so. It seems that stopping in the middle of combat to change all your points would be more than a little cumbersome. But that's just me. And I don't see myself changing because if you can be anything at any time, why have squad mates with skills? Personally, I'm a one-trick pony.

True, she could have been a guy. I don't think it would be weird for Alec to hear the dead spouse's voice. Who knows, it might be a comfort to him and the kids to hear her. Are we sure she's even dead and not just left behind? I don't think they ever mentioned Mom. Maybe she or he is part of this family mystery that was mentioned by one of the devs. I'm not talking about Alec, but about his coworkers and others. Unless SAM isn't heard by anyone but Alec and the kids and which case they all look crazy for speaking out load to someone called SAM, lol. As for RyderMom, she is a total mystery. Gotcha. I can see it now...the entire crew wondering what king of nutcase they're supposed to be working with. Maybe SAM was a grandparent. We just have to wait to find out, I guess.

I wondered this as well, once they started talking about a closer relationship than you would have with your average AI/VI. But then wouldn't it have mom's voice track? You don't think people who know Alex wouldn't have found it weird to hear is dead/ex/whatever wife whenever SAM is talking? Although, nothing stop "mom" from having been a guy either. True, she could have been a guy. I don't think it would be weird for Alec to hear the dead spouse's voice. Who knows, it might be a comfort to him and the kids to hear her. I'm not sure why you are comparing SAM to MamaRyder. Do you mean you think it'll try to fill that role or that it'll be like her? Because I don't get that at all.
Someone beat me to saying it in the twitter thread, but I could see SAM being more like JARVIS.
I was speculating that SAM was around pre-trip to Andromeda and Alec had it raise the twins while he was away on duty (he's the first N7 we see with "time" for a family, so I suspect he wasn't around much). Effectively making SAM a surrogate parent to the twins and it gives them an emotional connection to it that isn't just "it used to be used by my father". I also got the crazy idea that SAM isn't an artificial intelligence, but a synthetic based off the real Mama Ryder's brain, but that's another story and might be too crazy. I wondered this as well, once they started talking about a closer relationship than you would have with your average AI/VI. But then wouldn't it have mom's voice track?

I just got an unavailable message. No guy. I missed the party! Awww, poor you, you missed the glory of MugMan Nobody should be deprived of this experience...but there is still hope I will always hold out hope in my heart, no matter how futile it may seem, that I'll one day see MugMan in all 40 minutes of glory.

I will use humans the most. I tend to do this as well, though sometimes I'll choose someone different-usually Krogan or Turian-to replace one. It makes the most sense to me to go with humans this time because each Pathfinder crew is scouting for its own species and I figured each species would have its own race-centric specialists who are best suited to choose a home planet for themselves. An exception would be a local Andromedan who knows the area and customs better than the visitors. That said, at first, I do like to try them all if for nothing else but the banter.

I've considered it. I've played MMOs and done raids and things, but there, you have no chance of actually killing your group mates. With shooter types, I'd probably have all my allies dead within seconds. But we'll see. I don't mind trying new things. I also play on PC, so I don't know how that would work since it seems to me that most play on consoles. There's still a large PC crowd that plays and if MEA multiplayer is anything like ME3's was, there is no "friendly fire" so you don't have to worry abut accidentally shooting teammates. You can't hurt them, only the enemy. I just may jump in and give it a whirl at some point. Might be fun.

I'm for having marriage. I voted for kids, too, but I'm not 100% on board with it. It could be a pain having them around, but if they're in a nursery all day and mostly off screen, it wouldn't be so bad. I'd think that most of the colonists on board would have signed some kind of procreation agreement. If they haven't already brought along a whole lot of frozen embryos from others from home with voluntary surrogates. Lab grown would work but (not sure how much of a spoiler this is): Miranda was unable to have children, presumably because she was lab grown. I'd think they wouldn't want to take the risk that all progeny could be sterile. Since Miranda and Oriana were rather rare, it seems to me the process would be extremely costly and difficult to do. Not something that would be done on a large scale at the time. Adoption would be great. But to adopt, you need kids to be adopted. So, someone, somewhere, would have to start cranking out kids at some point to prevent a negative population growth of each species. It wouldn't have to be done early on since humans live a lot longer and their reproductive years also are extended. I think I read somewhere that human females can bear children into their 60s. Wish I could remember where. I do remember Anderson saying his parents had him when they were in their 50s. Still, I doubt that they'd take people into the project who wouldn't want to reproduce, even if it were just through donation and artificial insemination or IVF and surrogate.

I'm neither for nor against. I wouldn't want it for my character, so wouldn't participate in one, but I don't mind if the option is there for others.

... Never played the multiplayer versions and haven't got a clue how that even works. I might look into it at some point, but frankly I tend to play on casual because I suck, so I'm not sure I'd be a welcome addition to that style. Honestly, I'd never played multiplayer in my life before ME3, there's a difficulty level for everyone, you don't have to top the scoreboard as long as you learn to support the group, people here will help, and it's great fun I've considered it. I've played MMOs and done raids and things, but there, you have no chance of actually killing your group mates. With shooter types, I'd probably have all my allies dead within seconds. But we'll see. Hi, all. I've been lurking for a while, but just registered.
I'm probably the old lady of the forums. I played the first DA and ME trilogy multiple times and am currently making another run through ME. Just finished with my femShep and am working on a Bro playthrough.
I'm looking forward to Andromeda.

I just use the ringtones/notifications on my phone via Zedge. They have 178 choices, most of it clips of the game music.
