Yes they would need to breed like rabbits and women would not at all be placed in combat roles due to risk of death in the battlefield. But this is bioware and female representation is 50/50 for combat roles even though it shouldn't for this scenario since they should be breeders. You honestly think they have the technology to travel to a different galaxy but don't have the technology to create artificial wombs? We aren't that far from achieving it in real life. They could do that. And it could be viable, but it also might be time consuming and take up too much space to do on a large enough scale to be worthwhile. And then there's the raising of the rug rats. Someone's got to do that, though they could go to the bio parents or adoptions. I have a feeling that as high tech as that is, because of space constraints they may not think it's worth taking all that with them. They're only taking minimal supplies-just enough to get there, pretty much. Everything else has to be found somehow. In real life we have a plan to colonize Mars. Unlike Andromeda, of course the first few colonists will be followed by others. But they will have very minimal resources when/if they do it.

>rapid connection to the Milky Way Doubtful since bioware wants to get away from the Milky Way. Your point makes sense but I highly doubt bioware would go with that goal being accomplished. I don't think its going to be accomplished any time soon in game, but that is already one of the stated objectives of the Andromeda Initiative is to find a way of travel between the two galaxies. Agreed. They did say that. But we all know that Something Will Happen to prevent achieving that goal for a very long time. Though it has been 600 years since they started all this. But maybe somehow, some way, the problem lies in the Milky Way that has nothing to do with Reapers or Cerberus. Maybe some fool lost the directives or something. "Now where did I put that data pad with the instructions?" Or over 600 years the chain of information just sort of broke down and people forgot about it or assumed the Nexus and friends all perished.

I agree. I'm not expecting anything more than like what they showed at the Playstation convention to show off how shiny it is on the PS4 Pro. Still, I expect them to show us more now in January in total, than what they showed us in December. Yeah, I'm sure BW will be having more reveals than the NVidia thing. There was a LOT of information in that Game Informer article and though it wasn't BW directly it had to be done with their blessing. I think we'll see another training clip and maybe, possibly something more from Bioware directly in addition to that.

Each post about this is making me braver and braver. And kind of excited about it now. At least to give it a try. In the MMOs I played we always grouped or raided and used voice, if for no other reason than to have the leader shout commands.
And back to the topic at hand, I discovered Biofan here and became a fan through Andromenerds.

I agree. I think the total comes to like 25K since some are traveling on the Nexus. Some probably will not have survived the trip-relatively few. Some will die in combat most likely, and some have gone rogue so who knows what they'll do. But still. They're going to have to breed like bunnies to actually establish a colony that isn't going to die out in a year. Yes they would need to breed like rabbits and women would not at all be placed in combat roles due to risk of death in the battlefield. But this is bioware and female representation is 50/50 for combat roles even though it shouldn't for this scenario since they should be breeders. Yep. They don't want to go back to the days when women were treated like property and kept at home to spit out kids. Even though there was a practical reason. In the 22nd century, at least they could have safer jobs aboard the Nexus. I definitely understand the reasoning by letting women be combatants in a video game. I wouldn't want to be forced to play a male only even though I plan to play both. Maybe they've got some women who are set aside as surrogates? That would be to "Handmaiden's Tale" but possible.

I think what they're going to showcase how great the game will look on their newest $1K GPU so we PCers will all want to rush out to get it. I'm really not expecting more than that. Still I'll be happy to see how the game could look.

[image removed to avoid watermarked copyright claim] Not in your lifetime. OP has always made shit videos with no substance, it's what he was known for in the old BSN. I picked up several things that I had missed before, so no, it's not useless. Having all that summarized in one place is very helpful. Biofan obviously put a lot of work into it. Which I appreciate.

I haven't changed my wallpaper yet, but I'll probably get to that this week. I am ready for a new Mass Effect. Where are you all getting your wallpapers? Dalish Ranger, I'm looking for that one specifically. Are your wallpapers simply taken from screen shots, or is there a virus-free (safe) web source available for these pix? I just did a Google Image search for "Mass Effect Andromeda wallpaper" but all the ones I used I ended up getting from here. Haven't had any virus issues from that site, but I am using all sorts of adblocking scripts so I can't say for certain if there are any bothersome ads. The images themselves are fine, however. How can anyone get hyped with so many negatives about combat profile swapping and starting personalities posts? What can I say? I'm an optimist/easily pleased about certain things. It's not that I can't nitpick things or worry about details released, but I'm pretty flexible on the RP/combat details. I have preferences but they're not often rigid. So long as I can create a character and have some control over their looks/personality and enjoy good characters/story, and the combat isn't impossible on Casual/Normal, I'm generally happy. I'm one of the weirdos that loved DA2 despite its shortcomings and while I loathe ME3's ending and MEHEM is a must mod for me to replay it, it didn't ruin hype or BioWare games for me forever. I always get hyped for their games and I've yet to be disappointed. (ME3 came close but there's a lot I still love about the rest of the game). I'm definitely a superfan but not in the, "BioWare can do no wrong" sense so much as "Despite their shortcomings, I've always enjoyed their games thus far in whatever form they've taken, so for now I continue to be excited." Thank you. It worked well. As far as being overhyped, I don't think you are. Or me, for that matter. Excited, yes I am. Are there potential issues that will come up? They always do. I'm just looking forward to a new game and so far as I'm concerned, Bioware has done a pretty good job keeping me entertained and my imagination expanding. I don't expect a perfect game. There's no such thing as perfection in anything and players will never agree on that their ideals. So I'm happy with how it looks so far. There will be changes and there will be some things I don't like. But like you, as long as we can survive on casual/normal and the story is a good one, I'll be reasonably happy. And I still look forward to it.

Meanwhile on NeoGAF... www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1329776&page=11I'm really surprised at how everyone keeps ranting about the animation-quality of Sara's disarmament but really what strikes me as bad is the choreography (room with bodyguards, dude pointing gun at your face, just take his gun like nothing and he doens't react.) I was wondering about that as well. Maybe the turian doesn't do anything because Sloane steps in so quickly. At first I thought Sara's facial expression looked to much like a grin, but now it seems more like a grimace. She was threatened, she disarmed the guy and she's pissed.

I was hoping to be able to have a character with a lithe build, but if what Sarah has is our only option then that won't be happening. To be fair, a lithe body doesn't make sense with all the military and multiple environment exploration training the twins have. "But the mass effect hardsuits make us stronger and faster" you say? Personally, I think a good hero should multi-talented and adaptable, and not overly reliant upon technology that could fail. Especially if the writers ever want to revisit the Dark Energy plot ... Our definitions of lithe must be different. I thought it meant felixible and graceful, or athletic and definitely slim. I can see a soldier having those physical attributes.

Shy, introverted, patient and intuitive sound nice...if that's what they mean with "stoic" I'll be more than happy about Scotts personality. I just hope they don't create a Jacob 2.0. A stoic personality can become boring very easily if it's done wrong. I remember Hawke. Sarcastic, cocky Hawke was simply the best. The other two personalities were overshadowed by it most of the time. But I hope for the best. Stoic means more like being able to take a lot of hardship or pain without complaining. That could definitely be broadened somewhat. Example: If Scott felt that he nor his sister were quite ready to step in father's shoes because of lack of experience or they just expected Dad to be around, he'd still quietly accept the role and do his best. There would be no protest, no whining, no lamenting to others. He'd just quietly go about the business of leadership and work on improving his skills. He would also not let any grief show. Not to most people anyway. This could also apply to Sara, but I do see her leading more with her heart than her head.

It really depends, the principle of the keeping the same protagonists does have the benefit of making us care about them and their companions. It also give to the developer plenty of time to make their characters evolve and grow thus offering better and realistic content. The only minus in this is that the protagonist need to be charismatic and likeable for the entire premise not to collapse on its own. So I support a single protagonist throughout a trilogy but BW should do all it can to be sure, the protagonist is likeable and has its soul. The Inquisitor is NOT the way you want to go. I love my Inquisitor. Couldn't stand Hawke no matter how I tried to play her/him. To each his/her own.

I'm getting hyped. I've been fiddling around with my head canon background for my Ryders. By the time comes out I'll have their full life stories done complete from cradle to grave at this rate. Never mind what the game says they're going to be. Of course I'm trying to find every teeny bit of info I can and really, really hope we'll get a firm release date soon. I haven't changed my wallpaper yet, but I'll probably get to that this week. I am ready for a new Mass Effect. Where are you all getting your wallpapers? Dalish Ranger, I'm looking for that one specifically.

I would not mind it if one of them has some sort of a secret agenda/was a spy for one power or another, and was unable or unwilling to make his or her escape. Or was hired to turn the whole operation back towards the MW after the Reapers show-down. In other words, someone with a MET-related agenda, rather than a direct connection to Sheppard and his/her entourage. Maybe Vetra. I also would not mind an overused subplot of a stowaway, my favorite for it being Cora, simply because we have zero info on her. I am torn between wanting PeeBee to be a brilliant and accomplished engineer who worked hard towards securing the place on the mission via her impeccable credentials, rather than a rogue, and having another brilliant asari. Regardless, I am waiting to hear their backstories. I am sure they will be pretty entertaining! I do love that someone in the close circle could have an agenda different from the AI. Maybe someone who was working with Sloan but didn't get booted because they aren't associated with her yet. A stowaway could be fun, but how do you take a cryo pod with nobody noticing? There probably wasn't a lot of extra room for empty ones.

I was thinking of starting this thread then got lazy, so I'm glad you did it. My plan is to play at least one play through of sister and brother then do multiples based on different things. I'm going to stick with the default names because the idea of hearing their names used just tickles me. I don't know what kind of builds they'll have since I want to see how this profile system of theirs works, but based on their personalities, I have a vague idea sometimes of what their strengths would be. I'm having Sara to be the eldest twin by 2-5 minutes, if BW doesn't set that particular detail themselves. She's the oldest and has never let Scott forget it. I even imagine her pushing him off a swing when she wanted a turn when they were small. But she adores her brother. She's fiercely loyal to him and protective, especially tries to protect him from women who might want to use him. She's smart, out-going, rough and tumble and tempermental-ike Liam's description she "wears her heart on her sleeve." You always know what she thinks about something. She leads with her emotions. This often does serve her well in combat, but can also lead to more trouble than necessary, but she and her crew are good enough to keep things safe. Usually. As a pathfinder, she's not particularly interested in a relationship at this time even though she's got plenty of offers, but if the opportunity is just right, then she'll definitely go for it. Deep down, she's a romantic at heart, though she'll never admit it. Her brother is the only one who knows about her secret stash of rom-com vids. I haven't decided on her sexuality yet and probably won't until I meet her in game. Sara's ideal date, should she ever go on one, would be something active. She'd love to take her date to the gym for a sparring match, whether boxing or martial arts, then after everyone gets cleaned up, dancing the night away. Even though she comes across as open and often light-hearted, she takes her job and responsibilities as Pathfinder very seriously. The thing she misses most from Earth are the beach and surfing. Scott, on the other hand, is more reserved except around those close to him. His sister, his close friends and possibly crew members, have the benefit of the same loyalty and protective instincts as his sister. He may be quiet, but it doesn't mean he's in any way weak or cowardly. He's an exceptional marksman as well as very good at melee skills. (I suppose both need to be to have their titles.) Little brother tolerates Sara's teasing because to him, it's not worth the grief, but now and then he'll fire back at her. Just to keep her on her toes. In a crisis, he's calm, and will try to use reason before jumping in to battle, but when there's no chance of that he steps into the breach with no qualms. He can be very merciful, which at times can come back to bite him. But like his sister, they have different styles and attitudes, but he can usually make it all work out. He has a lot of faith in his crew members. His sense of humor is quieter, but it always astonishes people. Scott isn't interested in a relationship. I am making Scott straight, just because that's my preference, but that could change depending on LIs that are available. He does sleep around quite a bit. Probably because of his position, the Pathfinder mystique draws more than his share of attention, like his sister does. One thing he never does is lead a woman on. If it's going to be a one-night stand or short term-fling, he makes it clear up front. If he ever does settle with a woman, he will never cheat. Honor and integrity are hugely important to him. Scott's ideal date would be a bit conventional: a picnic in the hydroponic park, dinner, a vid at a theater. But he'd be just as happy with a night in, watching vids or playing chess or a video game. He loves an intellectual challenge as well as spending time outdoors. The thing he misses most is being able to step outside and go running or hiking, or just walking through a nice park. Both Ryders hope, deep down, that they can find a pretty blue and green planet to settle their colonies. **** Okay, now that I've written the family biography, what about you, President of Boom? What is your Ryder(s) like?

Fifty is not that old in the ME universe. Don't humans live to be around 150 or so? Besides, as so many others have said, to be N7 and/or pursue a Pathfinder career, you'd better be fit and athletic.
I'd think by the 22nd century, since most things like common colds and asthma have been mostly eradicated (from an ME3 DLC) that so would couch potatoism and most people would have a fair degree of fitness and good health.
Besides, it's easier to make one body type with minimal variations.

We can, can we not? From the gameplay trailer, it's clearly show we have four different dialogue options to shape Ryder's personality: Head, Heart, Professional, and Casual. Bioware isn't going to rip away such a choice from their players. I wish they could tell us more about these choices. Professional - Serious? Go straight to the point? Polite? Casual - Informal? Loose? Kinda halfhearted maybe? Or playful? Head - Smart? Snarky? More technical? Heart - Cute? More trusting? Or maybe this will be the more "renegade" kind? Also is the flirt option going to be a heart like in DAI or will it be put in the middle of these? Ah, and from the gameplay trailer we have: Let's cut to the chase - Professional? None of your business - Head? I'll be honest with you - Heart? Get over yourself - Casual? I agree. From your examples, it can be difficult to really tell which is going to be which because there's room for some crossover. "None of your business" could also be considered casual, depending on who you're talking to. "I'll be honest with you" could be professional. Or casual. A lot will depend on the voice inflection, I suppose.

I'll probably pre-order the Deluxe version, but I'm waiting for a firmer launch date.

Well, Michael Gamble just confirmed in a tweet there is NO romance between siblings. We are safe, people I, for one, am glad to hear it.

I'm going to use the name Scott for my first because I want to see the content behind it. I prefer Andromeda default names compare to DA2, actually . I plan to use the default names for both my male and female play-throughs because I heard that NPCs will use them at least sometimes. That idea appeals to me, so on the off-chance I heard that correctly, that's what I'm going for. I have no idea how I mucked up these last posts. This, the second one is what I intended. Sorry!
