Well now that I've got Kalinda and Jill out of the way, hopefully that's all the salt the games going to throw on me from here on out yes? SAM: Pathfinder, you have new email. *checks email* *0 new emails* Ryder: Call me Trigger. T - R- I - Double Grrurr - Triggered. Since that patch - every damn time I walk past the research station SAM LIES TO ME. No new emails. Nothing. Nadda. Boo. Everytime Sam says that now I'm like: "Why you be lyin', Sam? Why you be lyin'?" It's really annoying.

Hot accent. Mysterious. Cheesy. Flirty. Nicholas Boulton. Had to be done.
I'm a sucker for types like that.

People never fail to swallow link's bait, and it always amuses me. Never change, SP babbies. It's not always bait, though. Sometimes it's obvious trolling but other times he makes good points. I've thrown likes his way when I think he makes good arguments.

Cool idea but they need to decorate those jars with something that reminds a person of the characters they're supposed to represent. Like memorable quotes on the side or lid. I dunno. Otherwise, it seems bland.

what i suddenly realised after I finished my playthrough is there is no relationship. You're friends > you start the relationship > game ends, you see what i'm saying, there's no being a couple, ya know. Personally, I think that is the single most important way the relationships can be improved, start them early in the narrative so there is time to explore the established relationship. I'd agree with that. You are in the "friend zone" for 90% of the game, so there really is never an actual relationship. It's just occasional dialogue and the loyalty mission. There really isn't a lot there, and I think that's the problem most of us have. It just feels underwhelming. Maybe they're saving a little bit of the deep stuff for the next game?

This is exactly what I was going to say. I understand some of the romance scenes got a lot more attention than others, but that seems true for just about all parts of the game. They have acknowledged the issue, just have to wait and see if they fix it. I know that for folks trying to play the game now that having it fixed a couple months out doesn't do them any good but it is what it is. I feel the same about the CC. Voice your displeasure and hope they do better in the future. That's about all we can do at the moment for lots of areas of the game. Threatening boycotting though? Meh seems a bit extreme to me, in the end it is just a video game. Seems to me you've missed most of the discussion. Its not just some romances 'got a lot more attention than others' although its very true m/m romances got next to nothing. There are multiple issues and they have been detailed. Extensively btw... Also this entire line of argument that because bioware 'dudebro' montreal added some very poor content we should just be complacent is one I don't ascribe to. We got treated like second class citizens by this dev team and just because other teams have been actually inclusive and shown us effort doesn't mean these pandering suckers get a pass. Also I hope you realize bringing attention to a bad product so people dont waste their time or money is not extreme. I applaud the op for being a bro and doing this, even though he got flamed to high heaven Not exactly who you responded to but.... I'm not advocating being "complacent". I said "Continued polite yet firm criticism". Criticize all you want! Bring attention to these issues! Don't relent! Bioware needs to hear valid complaints (and a lot of them ARE valid). I just don't really care for the flames and boycotting and badmouthing and attempts at tearing down the studio because of it. Honestly, that also goes for the folks who get hung up on the animations, the "Cora's a dude" crowd, the "Peebee looks like an ogre" crowd, the "too many fetch quests" crowd, etc. All valid criticisms, and they deserve to be heard, but people just really take it too far and too wide which I find is unnecessary.

I agree. An older female romance would be fun. Not too much older, but a bit more mature like how Dr. Lexi seems. I would also be fine with someone who's way older. (Like the equivalent of their 50s or 60s or something...)Really though, in general, women over the age of 30 would be great. Eh... 50's or 60's for a 22 year old is kinda... icky... to me. Maybe if your character is supposed to be much older like mid-thirties? I say late 30's early 40's max for someone as young as Ryder. Otherwise, you're starting to get into Grandma territory. Or wait.. aging in Mass Effect is a bit different than nowadays, right? So maybe 50's and 60's isn't so bad if they LOOK like 30's and 40's. Hmm...

No, I mean the look of the Nexus from the outside. Didn't they have a representation of that middle and bottom part being added as the game goes on? As shown here: 1:10 Unless my version of the game is special, middle and botom sections are already mostly complete at the moment of Hyperion's arrival. I definitely could be wrong. I'm working on my second playthrough now. I'll make sure to pay attention this time.

Well apparently one of the writers wanted an older romanceable female squaddie but was vetoed on it Yeah, I wish they wouldn't do that. Let her write all the older women she wants to write! I agree. An older female romance would be fun. Not too much older, but a bit more mature like how Dr. Lexi seems.

Yes, I was expecting it to be tied to AVP, but it's like 80% complete (for some reason they didn't even explain how they did so much without a single colony) through entire game. I guess we'll see it's completetion in last MEA DLC. I was expecting a more obvious effort into updating the Nexus. I think mine did change over time but... it wasn't really obvious to me. By the end of my first playthrough, it still didn't look complete (but almost). I'm guessing it's linked to your percentage of completion for Heleus? I dont' know... It didn't change at all, unless you mean some opened areas since first visit. No, I mean the look of the Nexus from the outside. Didn't they have a representation of that middle and bottom part being added as the game goes on? As shown here: 1:10

Jeremy Soule is my all-time favorite game music composer. Hands down. I have a huge playlist of all my faves on Google Play that I listen to regularly. I'd love it if he did DA but I have a feeling that's never gonna happen.
As far as DA music goes, there are a few tracks that I like but it's nothing compared to the emotion I feel with Jeremy Soule's music. DA music gives me nostolgia when I listen to it, but I don't really have an urge to listen to it often.
ME:A's music is pretty good actually, I really enjoy it. Like others, though, I don't feel like I've heard half of it in-game. =(

Now I googled "Spanish Male Models", too, and found this gem: I'm not sure what it is, but there is something about the hair and pose that just "clicked" when I searched for a real life model of Reyes Vidal. I've no idea who this is, but he's a very good-looking man! :heh: Oooh.... I like that one too. He looks a tad older than the guy I linked and I think that might fit Reyes better. Yum.

I keep hearing that over and over from various people that it's literally the best RPG ever. That's what prompted me to get it on steam sale but the main drawback for me is the static player character. I really like being able to make my own characters - it's actually been a very long time since I've played a game where I couldn't do that. Not that I can't or won't do it, of course, but it's a bit of a downer. I know the reason why he's static (books and all) but nonetheless, it's one of the reasons why I'm dragging my feet. Another reason is that I don't really find Gerault attractive, I guess? I mean, if I'm going to be stuck playing a dude, lets make him good looking. (Yes, I realize that's shallow. I don't care. Ain't nothing wrong wanting to play hot characters, male or female.) Maybe my opinion will change once I play it though. For now, he looks like a cross between Gandalf and Aragorn. A grizzly " Strider" Aragorn, not the well kempt King Aragorn. That said, y'all have convinced me to give it a go after I finish my second playthrough of ME:A. I want to romance Jaal before it's ruined for me by stumbling across something really spoilery. I can completely understand the interest/desire to create a custom character. That's not something that really registers for me personally (I was totally happy playing as Standard Shepard and Ryder, for instance). As for Geralt's looks, the best you can do is customize his hair/facial hair and of course his armor, and some of those hair customization options drastically help. I think Geralt looks ridiculous clean shaven with straight long hair, for example, so I gave him a goatee with a shaved head with pony tail. He is also a lady's man in the game, despite the looks. One major romance plot point, if you choose to pursue a romance, is the relationship dynamic between Geralt and Triss/Yennefer (both of whom are pretty good looking in the game). He also has a few other romance options and access to a brothel. Anyways, I do hope you enjoy it! At the very least, the combat, cinematics, facial expressions and decision-making in the game are incredibly well done. The core is great, which can't really be said about the game in which this forum is based. I didn't know you old customize his looks somewhat. I've always recall seeing the scraggly hair and beard-o so I assumed thats what he looks like throughout the whole game. Very good info, thanks!

Ya, boycott one of the few studios that actually make the effort to provide some content for women and the LGBT community......nope.Loved both my Gil and Reyes romances. Would always like to see more but hey, so be it. Would love to see Avitus as a romance option down the road (not Jaal, his story is established). Seems like a post designed to inflame the haters rather than a legitimate post. This is kind of how I feel about it too. I'm not part of the LGBT community but it seems like boycotting one of the few studios that has same sex representation is biting the hand that feeds. Continued polite yet firm critiquing seems like the much better route to go.

As an edit to a post I made yesterday: Barley-clam is Gil's favorite type of soup. I've never heard of such a thing. *Googles* Google has never heard of such a thing. Looks like it's a kind of clam chowder? You can probably make it like 500 different ways.

If Reyes's face were modeled after a real person, who would you want it to be? (Inspired to ask because I just found the instagram of Scott's face model and was impressed by the likeness.) Guys... don't do what I did and google image "Spanish male models" because you will find it hard to tear yourself away from all those hot bodies. That said, I did find this guy who I wouldn't mind Reyes looking like in-game. I guess his name is Miguel Iglesias. Never heard of him but wow.

I want to romance Jaal before it's ruined for me by stumbling across something really spoilery. That's my reservations exactly, because it is exactly the reason why I could not play the previous best RPG of all times, PST. And PST was closer in its structure to what I loved, I.e. It has a party and companions. W3 is playing a take on a novel with some other person's protagonist, whom I can't even make looking the way I want him to look (really, has to be that exact?) in a world that does not really appeal (another take on medieval Europe), and without party and companions. While my the RPG I desire is set in an exotic world (bright, warm colours) with colourful companions, a lot of fun, rather than darkness and hopelessness of tone, and a protagonist that lends itself to customization. So, JAde Empire successor rather than Torment's is my dream RPG. In other words, I guess, I want a totally awesome vacation from reality, happy escapism, not a game that reproduces the worst possible aspect of it in grim details. I wanna have fun rather than suffer agony for 100 hours LOL! While I do love me some dark fantasy, I will ecstatically play your dream RPG, too. Throw in some romance in that bright warm world of yours and I'm SOLD.

I bought TW3 during a steam sale ages ago but it's just sitting there hibernating. Never played any of the Witchers. I want to spend some time on YouTube watching plot summaries of the first two games before I begin. TW3 was the first Witcher game I purchased, as well. I was on the fence about even starting it because I got it in a Steam sale, too. But, it's the best game I've ever played and I liked it so much that I played through the main story twice and all the DLC three times. And I still haven't even picked up all the collectibles and side content. I now compare almost all RPG's to TW3 to see how they stack up. They did almost everything damn near perfectly in my opinion. I keep hearing that over and over from various people that it's literally the best RPG ever. That's what prompted me to get it on steam sale but the main drawback for me is the static player character. I really like being able to make my own characters - it's actually been a very long time since I've played a game where I couldn't do that. There's a difference between knowing a place exists and actually visiting it though. A lot of the planets and systems in the game are far different from the long-range telemetry gathered in the Milky Way indicated, either as a result of the Scourge, other unexplained stellar phenomena or the data being found to be inaccurate. Just because a map (or star chart) tells you something, doesn't mean it's true. Early Spanish explorers believed that California was an island not connected to the mainland of North America, leading it to being depicted that way on maps for centuries, despite how many people pointed out no-one had actually ever circumnavigated it. It was only in the late 18th century that the matter was finally settled, after an expedition traversed the region and finally disproved the theory beyond all doubt. That's why Ryder exploring and surveying Heleus is so important, regardless of whether someone else (native, Kett or exiles) actually got there first. Until Ryder showed up, the Initiative had barely explored two nearby star systems, with most of their knowledge of the Cluster being based on outdated information and telemetry collected from the Milky Way. Uhm, have you read their descriptions? They are all already visited by exiles/Nexus when we scan them. That's what I was talking about. I've read them all. Not all of them were actually visited. If I recall correctly, some of them had only been viewed by long range by either the Exiles or from the Milky Way. Especially the far out ones that you explore mid_end game.

So, I don't know if this was discussed already. The 'helius Cluster' is puzzling me a bit. I understood that it was jsut one group of stars, like hades Gamma cluster in the MW.. But none of the MW clusters has its own black hole.. this suggests helius is really a dwarf galaxy or something. Does this make sense? Or did Bioware really mean cluster, but someone decided having a black hole there was cool? I think it's a mystery why the black hole is there to begin with. Don't you send a probe out there and they say it's unusual and mysterious or something? I have a feeling it'll come into play later.

I bought TW3 during a steam sale ages ago but it's just sitting there hibernating. Never played any of the Witchers. I want to spend some time on YouTube watching plot summaries of the first two games before I begin. If you happen to be fortunate enough to be a PC gamer, I'd highly recommend picking up The Witcher 1 and The Witcher 2 either on GOG or Steam. They go on sale often and are both great games. The combat for TW1 is a bit dated, but the story and characters hold up well. TW2 is much more recent and still holds up visually. I really wouldn't recommend playing TW3 until you have gone through those games, or at least know the basic story and characters. You really can't truly appreciate TW3 fully without having that background knowledge and previous adventures under your belt. I actually have all three games. I tried playing TW1 but that combat omg.. I just couldn't. That's where I got the idea to watch the plot of the first couple games on YouTube. There are some really in depth ones that play like movies which is what I want. I just need to find the time.

MEA again, but I've been meaning to finally finish TW3 and FO4. I wish I could relive the magic of The Witcher 3 for the first time. Such an incredible game. If you haven't purchased them, the DLC's are completely worth it, especially Blood and Wine. B&W, with all the side content and collectibles, is easily 30-40+ hours of extra content. It's how DLC should be. I bought TW3 during a steam sale ages ago but it's just sitting there hibernating. Never played any of the Witchers. I want to spend some time on YouTube watching plot summaries of the first two games before I begin.
