If I recall correctly, back in the day there was a lot of talk after DA2 came out about how unrealistic it was that every romanceable character would not have a sexual orientation of their own and would just totally be into you no matter what. It seems they agreed with that philosophy and I guess I can't blame them. I do kind of like how in DAI I have to get out of my comfort zone of playing a female human to romance guys like Dorian, and Solas. Especially Dorian because I almost never play as male in games where I can choose to play as female. Okay, I understand that line of thinking, even if I still disagree with it. They sacrifice game enjoyment for the sake of realism. Always a balancing act. They just tipped the wrong way IMO. Yeah, I get that. I was pretty bummed when I first heard about it too. It does seem like they won't go back, though. I can just only hope that the romance options they DO offer are enticing enough that I won't worry overmuch about who I can't have.

After DA2, BioWare decided against player-sexual characters. I don't see them going back. Ah, that's a shame. I wonder why the decision to move away from player-sexual characters was made. Did they specify? Anyway, thanks all for the quick answers. Hello folks! I found my way here from BioFan's recent youtube videos. I had no idea the old forums had closed down and I'm so happy to see that a lot of folks migrated over to this one. I usually only frequented the forums when there was a new Bioware game coming out and even a little bit after to discuss the games we all love to play. I'm mainly a Dragon Age fan because I, sadly, mostly missed the Mass Effect train. I did play and finish ME3 when it came out but I felt a bit lost and never really connected much with the game because I didn't really know the characters very well. I did enjoy the Mass Effect universe, though, so I'm really excited to get on board with Andromeda and have the opportunity to start a new character in a new galaxy with the rest of you!
