I am actually concerned about this, yes. The most annoying thing is that all the fuckers constantly picking it apart that have enjoyed Bioware/Mass Effect games in the past will buy it and very likely enjoy it anyway.
Like, do you like Mass Effect? Do you like Bioware games? This is the new Mass Effect game. You're probably gonna like it. Will it be their best? No idea. But you more or less know what to expect. Stop obsessing over twitchy facial animations or whatever the latest catastrophe is and get a fucking life.

From her concept, she was clearly supposed to be like a revolutionary Marxist/Anarchist character, street smart and politically motivated. Instead she's...a totally ignorant dumbass. Can't she be both? She's also right about a lot of stuff... OK, only by accident, but it still counts. Well, no. Her motivations in game are 'I want things to be normal so I can play hurr durr. Also I'm scared of immigrants the demons'. I get the impression she was supposed to be like a female elven version of Che Guevara, almost. Fun, dirty, sure. But with a razor sharp anti-establishment agenda and a far more intelligent, charismatic rebelliousness.

To bring this back to romance talk.. since this seems important to some: hands up those for LIs hairstyle is dealbreaker! Or is to completely non-issue to you?Personally, I don't think it's very high in the list. I have many things I prioritize over hair on LIs, though of course I have preferences. Then, I'm mostly looking romancing aliens in ME so hair doesn't quite matter there anyways Oh god, Fenris' hair even the guy who designed him, Matt Rhodes, was ashamed of it. I remember I needed some time to get used to it. Right? How about that one Fenris concept art EYY GURL WHAT YO NAME IS???

I agree personality is better then hair, I mean I romanced Iron Bull-and just based on appearance is just a nope. He's too muscular, he has an eye missing, and is just not my ideal at all. However, when he gives me that look and says just the right things... I had the opposite reaction. He looks fucking fantastic, but every word out of his mouth in the romance made me want to slap the guy. Can we transplant dem shoulders onto someone who's actually sweet, please?

Sera 2.0 confirmed I guess. Yay?... Umm not really for me. I was neutral with Sera, but worst thing for me was that I couldn't understand what she said half the time, so I just didn't laugh with her... not sure if the accent or the slang or whatever it was. Till this day I don't understand breeches. Peebee at least I haven't had a problem understanding yet. (english isn't my first language so maybe it was just me) Sera had her mind made and didn't like having her views questioned, even when they were kinda of like... proven wrong. Pretty close minded if you ask me, not like Peebee who wants to know more about stuff and is open minded in general. I thought it was interesting when Sera (spoiler for DAI) Kills that noble if you don't do it soon enough, she does her own thing, it might be wrong but I like how she's doesn't ask for permission and just have to deal with the consequences later, you can be angry with her and all, it's a stupid action but it feels alive for me. You'll probably be able to answer to Peebee's actions in a reprimanding way, also, that is a loyalty mission so I think they'll make it clear you're triggering something like that before you go talk with her or in whatever way that is triggered.
Peebee is a nerd, Sera was definitely not one. Peebee is cheerful, excited (yay vault!), Sera might be those things to some but for ME she was just mad all the time and criticizing everything, in a not sure if truthful cheerful way.
Anyways there's more differences I notice but this is the basic stuff. Also those are my views of the characters and I think we don't know enough about Peebee yet. Hmm, good point, actually. Aside from her brazen ignorance, one of the things I hated most about Sera was how almost EVERYTHING she said was dismissive and negative in the most banal ways. 'Ugh, that's STUPID. Elves are STUPID. Magic is so STUPID. I don't like beautiful vistas, they're STUPID. The complex tragedy and beauty of the human experience? Stupid.' Nobody likes being around that. If Peebee is the opposite, I can handle that, even if she's a bit much.

Ok so I'm genuinely curious... Why is everyone jumping to conclusions and comparing PB to Sera? I don't see it tbh. She's kind of giving of that unnatural try-hard quirky/chipper, overtly childish thing with her banters during this. I mean, of course, I will give her the benefit of the doubt, it's only a 15 minute clip after all.

So I can only say that IF there is a hairstyle that would make me hate a Li, I haven't seen it yet. Heh, those were all my in-game besties.

Sera 2.0 confirmed I guess. Yay?... Yeah I was worried about that. I was hoping I wouldn't have a problem with any squad mates this game but Peebee sounds annoying. Oh well, at least I can understand what she is saying this time. I met Sera and after about 2 minutes I loaded an old save and avoided that shit like the plague. I'm from northern England and even I struggled to understand her dialogue. I do like to recruit her, though, because you can tell her that she's a fucking idiot in almost every interaction. It's very cathartic.

Don't even say that. They must have picked up on how much people hated Sera...right? Dunno... sometimes I think they thought her to be the most relate able to their intended audience. She is an A grade tumblrette, after all. A tumblrette? She's the opposite extreme. She has absolutely NO political awareness as opposed to an obsession with it and is full of loud, stupid, uninformed opinions like most anti-'SJW' types. From her concept, she was clearly supposed to be like a revolutionary Marxist/Anarchist character, street smart and politically motivated. Instead she's...a totally ignorant dumbass. I think someone higher up on the team realised her execution had failed because she's the only companion to have a constant 'Fuck off and don't come back' player dialogue. Which gives me some hope that they've not made an Asari version of her. Right? Please?

I kept being told how great the story for ME2 and went into it with high hope but eh? There's like barely any plot at all. I like the characters but the story's basically ohhhhnoooooo suicide mission.... we're alllllllll going to die... YAY Shepherd will save us! He/she's an invincible zombie-god!.... so special we just had to bring them back to live.... why couldn't they just invest money in fighting the reapers and got someone else to do the collecter mission. Apparently, the only real skill you need is not being a **** to your team and talking to them (power of friendship ) I'd go as far as to say Mass Effect 2 seriously fucked up the trilogy. It was a game of (admittedly fantastic) side-stories, not the middle of a trilogy. They should have course corrected to do a quadrilogy with Mass Effect 3 being gearing up for war with the Reapers (as had SEEMED to be the case at the end of Mass Effect 1 before the council was suddenly like 'lol reapers, sure') and then had the fourth as the war itself.

DA:I character creator is so horrible though. It's the lighting that makes your character look so dope, but once you exit it oh boy... not good, NOT GOOD. So many wasted hours on that son of a bitch only to end up deleting the Inquisitor because he looks disgusting in natural daylight. I thought the CC was actually pretty fantastic, but the lack of a lighting toggle at this point is just ridiculous. I had to go in and out of the mirror of transformation about 20 times.

I'd gotten the impression that Peebee was some kind of quirky but abrasive/antisocial intellectual. Here she's just overly cutesy. They're trying way too hard. I also struggled to distinguish between her dialogue and Ryders, but I'll be playing male Ryder, so. Also worrying at the lack dialogue sequences or cutscenes there but hopefully they were all cut out for spoilers.
Combat is looking very cool, though.

Can i haz the page about SAM plz? The S.A.M. stuff verges closer to spoiler territory than I'd like, which is why I didn't take photos of any of those pages. Sorry! Are there any illustrations of Gil or Reyes in there? The gays have been left stranded by the marketing department. Not as far as I can tell, sorry. I wish I could give y'all some relief on that front, but if there's concept art for them (and I'm sure there was) it didn't make it in to the final print of the book. Even Kallo and Doctor Lexi don't have concept art, which I thought was kind of weird. My snigger when I read that was loud, obnoxious and deeply, deeply immature.

I don't know why you're discussing the endings, the arks leave the system pre-ME3, it doesn't matter if the quarians or geth are wiped out. They could have easily come up with a reason for the geth to be aboard an ark, to keep them as part of the setting going forward, but it appears they'd rather leave the interesting races out of the game. We're going to a new galaxy. They likely didn't want to bog down the cast and overwhelm new players when they've got multiple Andromedan races to introduce. Not to mention, the Geth/Quarian had three games and a great resolution.

TES Online actually did an excellent job with seamless inclusion, come to think of it. The first gay NPC I came across was an old Bosmer man asking for specific flowers of sentimental value to him and his partner so his partner could smell them on his deathbed. No fanfare, just a really heartfelt sidequest. And there was a lot of that throughout all the alliances. They did a great job in that department. That sounds great. I haven't played ESO 2 mmos would be a too big a time investment for me, and I was focused on GW2. But that's kind of out of my system now, so seems ESO is the place to go next Wait until June, that's when the Morrowind expansion comes out.

As I was typing my previous post I got to this (0:20): Yay for seamless inclusion and gays existing in the in-game world Something that even Bioware in its all-mighty inclusivity has yet to master properly TES Online actually did an excellent job with seamless inclusion, come to think of it. The problem is since Scott and Sarah are both characters that have to be flexible enough to be shoved into a vast array of role playing situations-they will have to be at a certain acceptable margin of a blank state. While I didn't find the inquisitor boring at all-there was a never ending parade of people singing that song. So yeah-if you want to pull for Scott and Sara to come back it may be an uphill climb. Especially since even here-odds are good Scott will be universally paned cause I feel like every game the female voice actor no matter how little difference there is in performance will be crowned amazing, and everyone will say Scott's acting is terrible. I have eye rolled through so many such comments-cause it's an opinion thing so there's no winner so I just walk away. I loved the Inquisitor. Adding in races and putting all that effort into racial and skill dialogues allowed me to make him a far more defined character than Shepard. It's so annoying when people don't agree with my opinions. I am kinda expecting backlash against Scott simply for not being Shepard but we'll see.

I'm pretty sure they aren't intending to do things trilogy style again. I have a feeling we'll be seeing a new protag in any sequel we get. I wouldn't mind being wrong, but some of the things they said made me feel that's the case. Ugh, no. Fuck no. The Mass Effect trilogy was so good and so well received because it was an epic saga that let you develop deep relationships with characters over the span of three games. Going the Dragon Age route would be a HUGE mistake. I get the sense that they're gonna feel out reception for Ryder but if that goes well they DO have a plan for a sequel or two.

Hey, guys, what are your hopes for the tone of Gil's character arc? Do you want his character arc to be more light-hearted, more serious, etc? They said that his motivation was to "find a purpose." Personally, I'd love for him to find said "purpose" where least expected and grow into his own role as the game progresses. Maybe, he'll even be like EDI where he's initially a crewmember but becomes a squadmate? (Please, Bioware) Hmm. I forgot about EDI. But she's kind of a special case. I'd love for Gil to become a squadmate in a sequel but if he doesn't have a unique face in Andromeda then I'll write that off because I don't think there's ever been a companion in Mass Effect with a CC face. Obviously EDI had no body prior so it wasn't an issue. Also, I noticed someone saying they'd like some pacing over multiple games and I agree. If they've already planned for sequels then I hope the romances are slow burn and intended to play out over them. Give me a good dose of mutual pining for game one. Ending aside, they just completed their first successful trilogy of games that carried choices and characters over. Time to apply those lessons to a new series of games and use some foresight in character development and plotting.

(spoiler: I didn't lose my job and it turns out I was right and they got in trouble). Well I'm not very old but I'm old enough to have learned that being a fucking dick to someone who's a fucking dick is sometimes just as valid as taking the high road.

People are like, actively aggressive when I tell them I'm a vegetarian. I've gotten shit for being gay ONCE (in real life, anyway. Online is a different story but it just goes to show what huge pussies these people are). Vegetarian? All the time. Even when the other person brought it up and then they seem to have to basically drill me on why I would do such a thing until it devolves into them challenging me to explain how a cow is different from a broccoli (no, really). No one's been necessarily rude to me, but people give me weird looks and roll their eyes or make it seem like I'M making a big deal out of it when I'm not (such as during mandatory work lunches, I will ask if there's a vegetarian option, and people will just roll their eyes and be like, there'll be a side salad and some bread, and I don't even react rudely, I'm just like, okay). What annoys me most are my friends and family, though I've been veggie for almost 20 years now so they are used to it. But I used to get lots of meat-related jokes which I genuinely found hurtful. (Sorry for OT, thread!) That's where you and I differ
