Oh, the galaxy map is beautiful. But fucks sake, give a skip option for the people dozens of hours in. If would even be possible to skip them. They might be hidden loading screens. Well to that I would say; oh fucking dear.

I have yet another unpopular opinion: I like the galaxy map. But I enjoy exploring in Space Engine, and it reminds me of the serenity from that. It even has extremely similar music. My only complaint about the galaxy map is that Ansel doesn't work properly with it. If you activate the freecam everything outside changes. You can still move the camera outside, to some extent, but the planet/whatever you're near won't be there. If you're at the black hole, though, that will be there. Oh, the galaxy map is beautiful. But fucks sake, give a skip option for the people dozens of hours in.

Just to make things clear, I have no problem with guys displaying what might traditionally be considered 'effeminate' traits and am particularly emotional and introverted myself (initially at least, then I'm annoyingly boisterous when I feel comfortable). I loved Newt in Fantastic Beasts because he was protrayed as an emotionally open, soft spoken man who had the respect of the other characters. The problem is when this becomes a trend with a minority. It really does seem like a combination of ingrained perceptions and a subconscious desire to choose m/m options that would not top the PC and put them in the 'woman's' role. I get the worry, but honestly it doesn't seem like it's really been that way. The only ones that really read that way to me are maybe Zev and Dorian. Reyes has some more feminine qualities, I guess. But Kaidan and Cortez didn't at all. Iron Bull certainly didn't. Most of the others seem pretty neutral. I'd disagree about Kaidan. Compare him to, say, Garrus, who is commonly seen as Shepards equal in 'badassery', which I use in quote marks SO hard. And Bull was the promiscuous bi (but did have some characterisations I admired but as I romanced him everything was dwarfed by my disdain for how his sexuality was portrayed). Steve was good, just a game too late.

Not too authoritative so as to threaten the PC's masculinity, perhaps quiet, slightly effeminate in some ways. Alternatively sassy, fashionable, promiscuous and loud, probably some kind of rogueish antihero. You know. Like all gays. Oh and they should be irrelevant to the plot and have a personal plot that's patronisingly based around their sexuality. If we could remove the second point, this would actually work great for me. Now I'm curious...what criteria does the MEA team think a male character has to meet before it makes sense™ for them to be interested in men? Not too authoritative so as to threaten the PC's masculinity, perhaps quiet, slightly effeminate in some ways. I heard someone on here say that the new IP isn't an RPG? No idea if it's true though. Yes, it's not an rpg but you still have the possibility to develop your character in certain ways. This really just further suggests to me that they're completely over trying to make RPGs and should just admit that.

Yeah, this is also what I'm worried about. DA had Sebastian, which wasn't bad compared to what we already have, tbh. But so far it hasn't gone great. That's why I lean more towards just hoping they expand Reyes in some DLCs. I think (and this is my bias talking) that would be a pretty cool option. I could see him as Lair of the Shadow Broker type DLC. I don't think that should be the only thing they do but that would be pretty sweet. And honestly I'm all about Reyes as squadmate in the next game. Please Bioware, do the Isabela thing with him. I've thought about this and wouldn't be averse to it IF he was given a unique face scan (obviously they'd have to try to match it in features a little to what he's got but then it's not the first time an NPC has come back as a team member with a redesign).

Salty, bitter, (bit drunk too) SO! M/m quarian. Important to plot. Hawt. Exclusive proper actual face reveal option. Or ME hiatus... that way no more ME romances for EVERYONE mwahahahahahahah Well BioWare were talking about that new IP, and after the reception for MEA maybe we wont see ME again for a long time. I heard someone on here say that the new IP isn't an RPG? No idea if it's true though.

LOL! Man that's not on the level of monocle rat lobster but I did laugh in real life. I'm glad I make you laugh in this living hell I would really like a krogan LI, breaking the "smash smash" stereotype with krogans, Eve was such a nice character. Drack is more of the same, just Wrex with another palette color and older, can you imagine a dorky and young krogan? I could totally be the Tiana to that frog prince Ofc this is a totally selfish thinking from me, ME m/m options are almost nonexistent so asking for a krogan is greedy (its not a popular LI choice for gay/bi males), but man I'd love that I've only played the trial so I've only really seen Drack from promo vids and lets plays of about up to Aya, but from that at least he both sounded exactly like Wrex and showed characteristics exactly like Wrex. Does this change or is he basically Wrex all over again? Re: Krogan romance. I'm down if only for the four huge bollocks.

Yeah, making Jaal bi is a bit of a double-edged sword but it's the only possibility to have an M/M squadmate in the game. The alternative is to simply not have an M/M squadmate LI in the game. Maybe they could still at least make the people who wanted an M/M alien LI happy by making one of the other non-squadmate aliens (like Avitus or that one Angara whom people have mentioned a few times) available as an LI in addition to expanding Reyes' and Gil's romances like I explained in the post above. (Only if that character is already know to be gay/bi or if we don't know what their orientation is, of course.) The extremely important question is the files. Why does he look bi in the files? If he was going to be bi originally, when did they decide to not do it? Because if he was going to be bi and planned to be bi and later in the process they scrapped it I'd say it's more changing him back. It's true on the Cora front and such, but the disparity problem isn't there nearly on the same level. I'm not saying it's wrong for others to be upset or want things, but I don't think it's such a one to one situation that them addressing this would be quite as catastrophic. If they cut him being bi extremely early they should just say it. It's just so very questionable, because if they really did scrap the first flirt specifically to disable m/m without having to change everything else, that would be quite later in development I would think. I at least want them to say something. Refusing to answer for months while claiming the game won't string you along when it does to the point several reviewers thought he was bi is just incredibly wrong. So basically lesbians want a MORE stereotypical romance and gay guys want a LESS stereotypical romance (who's actually on the damn team and isn't totally throwaway to the plot). Make it happen Biunaware. It's never okay to group people together like that. People are not hive minds and people have their own opinions. I can't speak about lesbians (or bisexual women) and I can't speak for other guys other than myself. That said I've seen people actually want the "made for us" stereotypical gay romances even from the guys. It just rings to be exactly in line with their "it has to make sense" nonsense, as if sexuality simply must be a huge part of a character if they aren't straight. I find that irritating at best and insulting at worst. A character doesn't have to have A Very Special Episode type romance or follow stereotypes to not be straight in my opinion. It's one of the reasons I've become more passionate about this over time rather than less. But no, it's not safe to say all gay people would agree with me. Also, you didn't do on purpose of course but I notice bisexual people are often just forgotten on subjects like this. ...it's a flippant joke based on common sentiments that come up in LGBT romance discussions. People really need to start PMing people to check their meaning and intent before publicly declaring how offended (or 'offended') they are by something. Oh and the 'Biunaware' actually was a subtle dig at bi-erasure. Not unintentional.

You should add an indicator for squadmate/non-squadmate and unique face/cc face. Just for extra pissyness. I love me some pissyness. Well, to be honest, I'd probably be fine with no squadmate romances for gay Ryder if, and that's a strong if, the content was on the same level or better than a squadmate romance. In my opinion, we should be discussing quality in addition to quantity. Look at the advisor romances in Dragon Age Inquisition: I think those did better than the crew romances thus far. I've been lurking the BSN and reading before I joined, and apparently Reyes has a) worse animations in the Scott romance and incorrect lines that indicate that Reyes was primarily straight and was changed to bi fairly late in development. Gil, of course being a crew member, has considerably less content than the squadmates. If that was brought up to par, we may not be so salty. Also, I'd like a fairly detailed and developed romance JUST for gay Scott but I doubt we'll get one now that the game's been released. Same, but they aren't equal. Which is why that should also be on the chart. They haven't come close the the DA advisers.

You should add an indicator for squadmate/non-squadmate and unique face/cc face. Just for extra pissyness. I love me some pissyness. Ooooooh, squarespace! I love me some squarespace!

izut is it? I feel like there's a difference, seeing as there are no m/m squadmates and TWO f/f squadmates (plus Suvi and one extra?). Not to be dismissive, but those squadmates not being to your taste or preferring a straight one is not the same as not having any at all. I think you misunderstood her. She wasn't saying that she wants those characters to be bi, she was saying that other people might start complaining, too, if the devs set the precedent that characters' sexual orientations can be changed retroactively. No, I got it. When I said 'to your taste' I'm meaning 'to ones tastes', as in whoever campaigning for bi Cora. And what I was questioning was the statement that bi Cora is just as big a discussion right now. I've not been out of this thread so I don't know, but I wouldn't have thought so because unlike bi Jaal, bi Cora it doesn't really have a moral statement behind it. It's more about preference than a struggle against unfair treatment, so I didn't think it would be as big a topic purely because there's less drive behind that.

I kind of feel like the MEA team/EA marketing team was living under a rock when they made certain decisions (character creator) and especially romantic decisions for the game. If they just asked their fans, do you want an m/m romance squadmate? Then I feel like the response would be overwhelmingly 'Yes'. Not that they should even need to ask but still. This game is supposed to be for us. I feel like they should have at least communicated more with us to quell the ignorance. I have to say that it feels nice to have a place where I feel comfortable enough to voice my concerns on this. They didn't need to ask. They knew very well what players want since MET. The only thing they listened to us was... making a vehicle that is actually drivable. Questionable. Also, for everyone waiting for Bioware to do something to fix the m/m romance issues and debating the best course for that...not to be a downer, but I'd suggest just writing off Andromeda for m/m romances and campaigning for the next game. Though you shouldn't even have to anyway, I really thought we'd be getting at least one m/m squadmate per game going forward from ME3. There's no fix for Andromeda that's going to look good. Making Jaal bi sets a terrible precedent and will end up coming to bite future gay characters in the ass (if there are any), expanding on the crappy options available doesn't make them squadmates (and they ain't being made into squadmates) and they aren't going to make a new m/m squadmate who retroactively fits into the story and makes comments and banters like the original companions.

Damn it. Now I want BioWare to do a Shadowrun game. That would be amazing if done right. Ryzaki That kinda sucks. I like little moments like that, such as when 'Bela is jealous of a romanced Hawke if they flirt with Tallis. It makes the character feel more like a real person. By the way, I'll be here until my husband wakes up. I dunno. Harebrained Schemes are doing an amazing job with Shadowrun and the company itself seems to be thriving more and more so I'm expecting we may even start to see voice acting and other high quality production stuff as they can start to provide bigger budgets. No Bioware needed. Anyway, how about them terrible m/m Andromeda romances amirite?

Isn't Shadowrun a 'modern' fantasy RPG series? I never played it but I thought it is. Only speaking for the tabletop here, but think Blade Runner meets D&D. It's the future, with cyber-technology and all that jazz. Quick overview. It's been too long since I've played so I don't have dates. --The Native Americans try the Ghost Dance like they did in the 1800s. This time, real magic happens. --About the same time, people were changing upon puberty. Into orcs, troll, elves, ect. --Then children were born as orc, troll, ect ect. --The US got broken up. Half became the United Canadian-American States. The others were split among various groups. For example, California became the new elven capital. Denver looks like a total mess with parts of the city to native tribes, parts to megacorps, and parts to the UCAS. --Megacorps pretty much rule the world.--Then throw in the cyber-technology. Things like datajacks, implants were you can directly connect to the Matrix (3D internet) with a cord. Stuff like that. So pretty realistic, then.

zeowik Not really. It's set in a future where magic has returned to our Earth, so kind of urban fantasy but also very much cyberpunk. I'm meaning something set in OUR time. Much more grounded. Plus (as fantastic as those games are, play Dragonfall Directors Cut, y'all) I'd want a fully voiced, third person AAA urban fantasy RPG. Anyway, sorry mods, I'll shut up about this now.

caladrius as desperate (and I mean seriously, it's my number one desire for a game and has been for YEAAAARS) as I am for a grungy urban fantasy RPG, I'm genuinely not sure modern day Bioware could deliver the kind of depth of lore, story, character, roleplay and romance I would want from it. I'd be so invested in it being good I think I'd die inside at every cheesy dudebro line and every banal, generic plot.
