Tekehu's booty right??? When the fuck is someone going to make an AAA urban fantasy RPG that let's me play as some budding Constantine motherfucker? It's such a ripe genre. The only thing that even comes close is Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines and that was years ago and I couldn't even play as a voodoo doll wielding witch bloke. ALSO MUSCLEBOUND BASHFUL GAY WEREWOLF ROMANCE. SOMEONE AQUIRE MILLIONS OF POUNDS AND MAKE IT HAPPEN.

alien + Robert Kazinsky Nah, fuck that. When they FINALLY decide to make my occult detective RPG (feat. a good character creator and tons of player dialogue options) they can bring him in as the chivalrous, sweet natured, slightly goofy but masculine gay werewolf romance option who features as a companion and major story character in all three games. It's their next game. Mass Effect: Andromeda was just a joke to make us think they're terrible nowadays.

That's not a positive. Just because it sucked in ME3 as well doesn't mean it excuses it here. DA:I did a great job with this and yet of all the shitty ideas they decided to transfer over from DA:I to Andromeda they left out all the roleplay dialogues and good CC. I just really wish there was a game company that basically made Bioware games, but with RPG elements embraced, a diverse portrayal of gay romance options and where the writing hadn't devolved into intellectually empty dudebro bullshit. DA:I did a great job with this? I mean it certainly wasn't anywhere near as bad as this but I felt like my Inquisitor had no personality. At all. Just nothing. No character development, no conflict, no defining traits, quirks, opinions and style of speaking. I couldn't relate to them at all and didn't like my own character. At all. There was nothing to like, she was barely even a person. It was all just "close rift that kill demon this ah my hand hurts also Corypheus needs to die" One of the major reasons I didn't enjoy the game much, I think. Just my opinion, though. I played an idealistic, intellectually curious elf mage railing against the idea of being some kind of Chantry messiah and the game really supported me in that. I don't know what you played but had I not known that the game was originally human only I would have thought that the game was made for an elf as default. Both that and my mage status came up constantly and I felt a really cool mentor relationship with Solas from it. I think, given the expense of a voiced protagonist, that what they provided was indeed excellent. It made the game for me. It was very rare that I felt like there were no options that suited my roleplay at least somewhat (really the only time my RP was broken was with Bull's romance). But maybe I just lucked out. Regardless, it still had a lot of options in comparison to ME and (at least from what I played) was very reactive to my class and race.

Suck my dick, Bioware. This is the last straw. WUT? REALLY That fairy/vampire can suck my blood anytime! WHY BIOWARE I'm dead inside. Just utterly destroyed. Why would they waste that fucking PERFECT specimen. My face is permanently stuck like this now. I'm utterly bereft.

Completely agree, couldn't have said it better myself. If you're going to call it an RPG, make it an RPG. Honestly I mean, I can't even say this game is a bad RPG (in terms of... RPG-ness) because it's not even an RPG. There is barely any roleplaying involved. The fact that you can choose from different dialogue options (which, apparently more often than not you only have 2 options) doesn't really mean much if it's essentially empty and has no depth in terms of gameplay and character building. Scott and Sara are practically already established characters. It's just... disappointing. It's not really that much worse than ME3 (that said I hated ME3's set Shepard so much). Like most of the time you can work around it. That's not a positive. Just because it sucked in ME3 as well doesn't mean it excuses it here. DA:I did a great job with this and yet of all the shitty ideas they decided to transfer over from DA:I to Andromeda they left out all the roleplay dialogues and good CC. Another reason this may be the first Bioware game I don't bother with. Playing the trial I felt almost no control over my Scott as a person and the fact that his sister get's to be more of an intellectual and a science nerd and I have to be more of a military guy as a male is just salt in the wound. I don't want to be a derptastic version of Sara, thanks. Yeah, I'm still so salty about that. It's an RPG for fucks sake. You're supposed to let your players do the roleplaying. Creating their own character, different personalities. That mean anything to you BW? smh One of the biggest reasons I feel no desire to actually play the game - I know that I can't play as the character I want to play as. ugh If they don't want to commit to ACTUALLY doing RPGs anymore that's fine, but I feel like they need to admit it and just strip out the dialogues and just let you choose key decisions and who you want to romance. If not and they still want to make RPGs...make fucking RPGs. Give me lots of dialogue options. Stop with the excessive autodialogue. Let me choose from multiple backgrounds/professions and make sure the world reacts to them and that I can apply them in dialogues. Let me choose a class and have the world react to my class and have class specific dialogues. Etc.

They made the girl more of a nerd, and the guy more military minded? <sigh> That sounds more than a bit stereotypical from my experience. I mean, Shep has their own personality, but they didn't make one gender's interests different from the other. I'm waiting to play the game to judge, but I usually like a little more flexibility with my characters. This game is disturbingly regressive for taking on such a progressive face (even more progressive than trilogy). Another reason this may be the first Bioware game I don't bother with. Playing the trial I felt almost no control over my Scott as a person and the fact that his sister gets to be more of an intellectual and a science nerd and I have to be more of a military guy as a male is just salt in the wound. Christ, the next DA game won't even have Gaider.I'm going to drown my sorrows in ridiculous Paula Deen YouTube videos, y'all. Patrick Weekes is still with us, don't worry my sweet summer child. The one ray of sunshine. And I suppose Sheryl Chee wrote Isabela, one of their best ever characters, so there's hope there but it's spotty.

Jaal isn't that bad if you focus on his story, he is a good bro. But his '' Vetra, Vetra, Peebee looked at me! And now, I see myself looking back at her, WHAT IS GOING ON!? '' was just... sad. Is this high school??? Also his loyalty quest hey Lion King 2??? He is like a disney character, it's sometimes endearing, and sometimes he is just... so lame and ridiculous, like a cartoon. ...is that paraphrased or does he really say that. I think Reyes was straight. I also think months before release or so someone pointed out us gays only has Gil, and... he has like no content. So as per there "rule" of adding more to balance things out rather than change a character's sexuality they... did a half assed job of changing Reyes to bi. "We're very happy with the specifics..." Well I'm not happy with how specific this team were in making sure at every turn it is so blatant how lazy and uncaring you were. I've just read about the female pronouns Vetra reaction lines and with that and the shit, janky dance with m/m Reyes...yeah, they realised late into production that m/m only had one and decided to just do a half arsed job of adding the other male non-squad romance as bi. The gays will be too busy getting bummed at the club to notice.

Just imagine the fucking apocalyptic backlash from gamergaters if Bioware made a 'gay patch' for a game that's already getting a lot of backlash. There's no way it's gonna happen. I thought the gaters were sympathising with us? Besides, all the evidence suggests he was originally meant to be bi Also, I'm on board for making Evfra a bisexual romance option. Maybe Carlyle and Tiran as well? Shhh I can be selfish.AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I'm sorry but

Yeah. I was chatting with some friends about things like what it really means to be "queer-coded" since I am often blind to stuff like this too. That said though, Cassandra is basically the "Paging Mr. Allan" type for myself as well so I've always been shocked and unable to understand why a lot of guys evidently claim that she's not great. But then, I had dudes tell me that Isabela was also unappealing because she was evidently a disease factory or something sooooo I'm guessing some gross assumptions about difficult lines that "ideal" women need to walk and so forth? :\ I can't speak for straight men, but I think it's very true that a LOOOOT of lesbian and bi women are hugely attracted to butch women - and even Cass and Cora aren't what I'd call "butch", but they're closer than the other overwhelmingly femme f/f love interests - and the guys are jonesing for either the classically handsome boy-next-door or Beardy McChesthair. Can't please everyone, but variety is nice (and in the case of LGBT representation, vital). The only gay romance option I can think of that I found physically attractive was Iron Bull and then they went and gave him the complete opposite of what I would want out of a romance. I'm not saying there's a conspiracy against me but it seems suspiciously like trolling. I'm just waiting for gay Beardy McChesthair to show up and have the most vulgar, disinterested non-romantic romance ever.

Anything today from the devs? Any word? Any care or concern? I know they are really busy but... I wasn't expecting to still be waiting... for a game that is already out eurgh Yes. They announced that they're making the urban fantasy/occult detective RPG of my dreams and that everyone will get three fully fledged romance options, except straight guys who get one. It's actually all for a social experiment. Hypothesis: an extremely loud vocal subgroup of angry straight males will be triggered and start to act like the 'entitled' gays they mock and tell to enjoy their scraps all the time.

I actually LOST interest in the game when they announced totally not romances purely because I'm fully expecting Eder to be straight and to feel incredibly fucking meh about it. That said, I thought the first game was dull anyway, so. The more unique setting of Pillars 2 and (God willing) bi Eder would be just about enough to get me into it. I have faith in bi Eder... pls ObsidienI really liked the first game though (I'm 55 hours in and still haven't finished it lmao) and I think the second one can only get better. I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy PoE2 just as much even if there are no romances (or Eder and Aloth are straight *shudders*) but I really want romances ugh I was following it from the kickstarter and in almost every update there was a huge calamity of either 'This is just like in Baldhrs Gate 2, I love it! or 'Ugh, this feature/plot/whatever is nothing like Baldurs Gate 2, they better change it, I'm a backer!' And the result was a very reigned in, generic game that felt like it desperately wanted to be its own thing but was too scared to NOT be Baldurs Gate 2 2: The Balduring. And as I only played BG2 in recent years and thought it was deeply overhyped and kinda dull...yeah. Glad I backed the game and suppprted that content but if they throw off that suffocating BG2 shroud with the new tropical setting I might actually be able to get excited about it.

How do they NEVER FUCKING NOTICE THIS. Gaider actually did, tweeted this: "And now Blackwall is revealed! Or his name is, more truthfully. Though, I have to admit, I was growing fond of “Ser Bara”." - thanks google and fextralife for letting me to find that. And yet. I swear, of the limited game companies that do gay romances, they almost ALWAYS put in a straight option that I prefer infinitely to the gay option and then all the thirsty gays on the internets are like 'THIS IS WHAT WE WANT. THIS IS WHAT WE LIKE. CAN WE FUCKING HAVE?' Oh, here's another spicy promiscuous bisexual twink for you, lel.

If Liam had been an option for gay guys too, his popularity in general would have been much greater, I think. Like with Blackwall, I feel that it's an example of a character who would have been much more appreciated by the demographic who wasn't given the chance to romance him. It's too bad. :/ Well Blackwall was nicknamed by fandom Ser Bara before we knew his real name... How do they NEVER FUCKING NOTICE THIS.

Count me 250% on board for bi Eder, lol (with the way he has been teased they are definitely going to give him to the ladies). My twink Watcher fell in love at first sight... I don't remember where I read it, it was probably on Fig, but apparently in this game Aloth is more... accepting? of Iselmyr? There's some character development there, and he's more comfortable with her presence in general I think. So... who knows lmao I think that will actually depend on choices you have made in the first game. I actually LOST interest in the game when they announced totally not romances purely because I'm fully expecting Eder to be straight and to feel incredibly fucking meh about it. It's romances. They're just veiling it in bullshit to prevent RPGCodexers getting triggered. Also, fuck Aloth. Let's buck the trend and make Eder the gay one. Eder is canonically interested in women though, he mentions it in banter (I think it was when you visit The Salty Mast for the first time?) so at best he'd be bi. Which I am 100% okay with lmao but Aloth... He does? Fuck. I have no problem with Aloth as a character, but I swear if they do put in a m/m romance and default to the posh, svelte, well groomed, long haired elf then I'm calling major 'It Made Sense' on that. I'm not sure even Obsidian are immune to subconscious itmadesenseism.

HUGE SPOILERS for PoE I just... I can't Aloth my bab Do we actually know if PoE2 is going to implement romances in a Bioware-y way the way some people are assuming, though? The way they phrased it and talked about it in the backer update, I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being something else entirely. So as much as I'd love to get my guy with Aloth, there's no way I'm going to hold onto even 1% of hope lol. Especially after THIS shitshow. It's romances. After 18 hours of this game... 6. Gil is the most blase blase character from the group. He literally IS '' some guy in the hold. '' Even as I'm romancing him, I have no emotional connection to him. I care so much more about literally everyone else, and Gil is just... there. Compared to the rest of the crew, his personality is mediocre, and his '' story '' which is nonexistant is mediocre. He is just mediocrity personified. People will only remember him as that sorta entertaining guy with the horrible stubble...
Well, I need a break. I'll probably continue tomorrow but if the rest of the planets are anything like Voeldt I'm leaving. I hated that place. Gil still sucks and playing thru the game hasn't made me see the light. This is really how I felt, #6. I'm not doing the romance path with Gil, so I don't know if there's that super secret extra stuff out there people keep saying exists that makes him way more interesting in a romance path, but as friends Gil is boring af. I would vote him most boring guy on the ship, hands down. He's literally like.. nothing. There's nothing to remember except he likes poker and some bitch named Jill. If I didn't have meta knowledge, I would think he was some creepy nerd that's stalking this girl. Serious read.
Hands down, Gil's most important function on the Tempest is being a narrative point for Kallo's character development. It's the only decent thing he's added to the story so far.
I actually like Reyes more than I thought I would, though. I just wish there was more romance there and more connection with the squad. 'And some bitch named Jill' stop it y'all I'm crying X'D
