Strange never had that once, also on PC. I could sit there idly doing nothing for as long as i wanted (made a cup of tea and came back once) That's why I was confused. I watched a lot of videos of people playing before access and they took their time making choices in dialogue. I'm not getting that option at all, it's just picking them for me. So I was wondering if it's a setting or something? Did you play on narrative difficulty? maybe it's that

Think it will depend on your playstyle, sure some do more dps but have smaller clips/slow rate of fire. Others the opposite and others inbetween.

I am not sure what counts and what doesn't count in the inventory. I would have thought that it was only the weapons, armors, mods, and augmentations. However, I counted my things and it seemed way lower than what was displayed. Then I noticed that things like Iron and Eezo count as "1" unit (no matter how many you have) towards the max. Ironically, valuables do not seem to count. Okay two things -- (1) Am I insane in counting or do crafting actually not count and I missed something? (2) Are we safe to always sell ALL valuables? Can't check 1 because my trial has ran out but 2) ye you can sell all salvage it is just junk (with a nice image i will add i like the idea of it all boxed up)

How do you create an icon out of a .png? I've added my icon to the top of the thread in a download link along with the png, for whoever wants to use it too. Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by " picked so fast you couldn't pick them yourself", do you perchance mean "autodialogue" as in ME3? If so, yes, there's a fair bit of dialogue that is locked down by default even during cutscenes but whenever you're part of an exploration area or running around the nexus it almost never goes that much into autodialogue. I think it's the central story beats that are somewhat on-rails in this regard. I mean a dialogue wheel appears in cutscenes and before I can even move my mouse to pick one of the choices it just picks one and continues on without any input from me. I thought the first time it happened it was a timed thing or something, but after 13 times in the 2 hours I played I figured something is not right. I don't think that I'm not meant to even have a few seconds to think about what response I want to choose before it just picks one for me and continues on. I hope that makes more sense. And thank you for answering Edit: Also, I'm on PC if that helps/makes a difference. Strange never had that once, also on PC. I could sit there idly doing nothing for as long as i wanted (made a cup of tea and came back once)

Hmm I thought it'd be like the trilogy's with a logo. Seems to be that though it is from the trial so maybe they'll release a new one? highly doubt it. I like it though EDIT* Never mind just looked in the folder and i have the normal games.exe to and it is the same sadly clicking on it just gives me Mass Effect™: Andromeda Deluxe Edition will release on March 20, 2017 and cannot yet be played. if only!

I need your advice: my extremely low internet connexion is still downloading the trial version (33%...). Should I let it finish or stop and start downloading the main game instead? They are one and the same so let it continue

Are there any threads explaining how to use a VPN? (Eg: safe ones, if you need it on while playing until the date for your timezone) I'm terrible at tech stuff but I really want to play ME:A early. (Uk also) bsn.boards.net/thread/3808/andromeda-on-21st-vpnTo get it on the 20th select a korean vpn using the tool and guide from the orginal posters post.

you can play on the 20th 3pm GMT if your on PC using a VPN set to korea. I'm pretty sure it counts Korean timezone then, not yours. But even then, still useful for us Europeans as we can play ME:A on 21st in morning. Instead of waiting for 23rd midnight. No my origin (im from UK) states the game unlocks at 3pm GMT 20th which is the same as 21st Midnight HKT. It adjusts to your windows clock i think as it shows their currency in origin. So setting it korea lets you play at midday on the 20th at the same time as those from asia who for them it will be midnight 21st.

Yes, you are wrong, completely and utterly wrong in fact. They are effectively the leaders of each race, representing their interests at the entire beginning of their race's future in a new galaxy. They are the ambassador, the leader, the vanguard, the scout and pioneer. There is nothing vacuous about the title, so I can only assume you're either trolling or you haven't read or watched any of the Andromeda Initiative videos or information. The Pathfinder isn't the leader of the race. It doesn't make sense to have someone of such importance in so much danger. He should simply be out gathering intel and reporting his findings back to his superiors. His superiors should decide what further actions will be taken. Regarding your initial comment earlier in the thread about the mechanics asking you to scan and fix the problem, for the record it isn't only you who can help but rather anyone on the pathfinder team. You just happen to be there at the time. The engineers could of fixed it themselves but the game will explain (if you put 2 an 2 together) why you can do it so quickly. I get where your concerns are coming from but honestly the game will explain it 100%. Alec is not in charge of the intiative Alec is not in charge of the Ark Alec is not even in charge of the Ship He is a pathfinder (why this title is important and why the pathfinder are so unique also explained in game) What makes the pathfinder gain power become more special - explained in game However even when the pathfinder gains power they still do not have overall power and report to others. They do however need to be in the field (explained in game don't want to spoilt it) Honestly relax, this isn't a case of your special for no reason other than because thats cool. Pathfinders are more effective than their teams (explained in game) their team is more effective than normal soldiers/recon/anyone else in the field (explained in game) that goes for all pathfinder teams across the arks. Your pathfinder is better than all the others granted making it special but again their is a solid reason for this explained in game (and not oh look walked into the wrong room at the wrong time somehow live with a magic shiny light on my hand now im the only hope) Even what makes your pathfinder unique (more powerful than the others) does not make it totally unique and the "one and only saviour", just better. Again all explained in game.

Somebody who did play Origin Access can you please tell me if we have at least 1-2 planets with some side quests with cinematic camera and dialogues, like in ME1 after exploring mostly empty planet I could find some kind of base/facility, them I could enter inside and find those (for example) Exogeni scientists and then (after some cutscenes/dialogues or just combat if I choose so) decide what to do with them, or it's just mostly fetch/scan quests? Thanks in advance. There are no randomly generated planets anymore like ME1. The side quests are now part of the main planets (think more KOTOR planets to land on lots of content but with the open world style of DAI) There will be places we can land on (im guessing like stations and what not with side quests to) according to devs. Though the trial is literally just 3 minor systems to explore with a few things to find (some mineral deposits volcano, few satellites and 1 thing i wont mention due to spoilers) and 1 system that contains the first major planet EOS. I played for 10 hours and never quite made it to the cut off part but then im one of those players who stops and listens to every background conversation, explores every ? conversation option with every character. The side quests are long from what i've seen with lots of dialogue. Even the 3 most basic fetch quests (the only fetch quests i found) are more of a tutorial and have a good conversation explaining why. These are Scan planets, scan new types of minerals, and scan new alien species, but they are explained by the scientists giving them to you as furthering our understanding of the new galaxy. I did not once encounter anything like that templar stole my ring kind of quest from DAI

The problem is that Alecs face doesn't adjust to match yours but rather just has 9 different presets depending on whether you pick head 1-8 or stick with default male ryder. He also always matches male ryder apparently whether your playing him or hes your brother. The only thing he will match on in regards to customisation is the eye colour.
As others have said easiest fix is letting us select keep default Alec Ryder face similar to our twin.
They could open up CC for dad to that would help.

Again i disagree here, i loved reading the lore of the different planets/black hole during the trial. I loved not having to tediously scan every planet from top to bottom to find minerals to. now its a quick 1 tap scan to gather the planets information except for those with mineral deposits/volcanoes and what not. Here it is also an improvement i set myself the task of visually finding the anomaly manually by eye rather than using the scanner made it more interesting and its good to see they actually put visuals of them on planets that can be spotted with the naked eye. That's sweet... but doesn't change the fact that most of the planets we come across - after a very pretty flying animation that totally wont get old after 32 systems with ~6 POIs each - are just empty... at least, in the trilogy, every planet had at least something to find. The animation may get old but is it worse than previous games method of: 1) Slowly flying to a new cluster across the galaxy map 2) Scout all planets in starter system spending a few minutes on each gathering resources 1 or 2 planets per cluster(not system) would give you something to land on. 3) Fly to next system in the cluster 4) Repeat scouting and mineral spamming. 5) You now have to fly back to original starting system to buy probes/refuel 6) Fly to and scout another system. 7) Back to starter system refuel 8) Repeat until all system scouted 9) Back to starter system refuel 10) Fly to another cluster and repeat from step 2. Don't even get me started on ME3 and adding the constant in/out of a system to get to an anomaly to avoid reapers into this. Rose tinted glasses is the impression i get when previewers complain that exploring the systems takes to long in MEA. At least now its faster (even with those animations) and more immersive and visually appealing.

Didn't they say it'll be around 10 planets to land on and explore? with a few other locations we can land on (like the nexus for example). That judging by EOS is a lot of exploration. There was so much complaining that DAI was empty space, yet here people are complaining that there is not enough to explore.... I for one am glad they ditched procedural generated planets (ME1) early in development for MEA. I want the planets to have content even if that means less of them. They said a "hand full" which seams to amount to 6 (well 7 counting the the tutorial planet)... which is a descent number, I guess. What is disappointing though, is the exploration outside of the main planets... if the the trial is anything to go by. Again i disagree here, i loved reading the lore of the different planets/black hole during the trial. they are more problem solver than scout. -They represent the nexus - They represent their respective race-They do recon -They have to clear threat So they are more like scientist/diplomat/scout/soldier. If the Ryder twins represent the best humanity has to offer, humanity is in trouble. The ryder twins are not pathfinders. They are on the path finders team. Your father the N7 Alec is the pathfinder.

95%?... Are you guys even serious? This type of score should mean that ME:A is a fucking masterpiece, which it isn't, even only based on the footage released so far. Scores like 9/10 10/10 are supposed to be saved for when a game is TRULY amazing, unless you subscribe to the IGN method of rating games that is. If this game keeps the feeling it has after 10 hours until completion it will be a masterpiece. Facial numbness and dead eyes are graphical issues and do not take away from an otherwise stunning game. CC is a bonus and should not negatively impact a games score. I will say i originally had DAI down at 85% game after playing its trial and would probably give it 80% after completing it & DLC (and im more of a DA fan than ME i loved origins) so i do expect MEA to drop off to 90% though who knows maybe it will totally flop late game worse than DAI did, but i scored it based on the first 10 hours. It is better than DAI (trial vs trial not trial vs full game) though to be fair to DAI it was the first BioWare game on Frostbite

A question, I read on other threads that the save options is present when on the Nexus and second planet. Is this true? True sometimes. You only can't manually save when on a critical mission. So the first time you reach the nexus you can't save because your still in the critical mission. It does autosave often though when on these missions.

I went with 95%. After playing the trial (taking my time talking to everyone reading all the codex entries) i was left itching for more. The world feels more alive than previous Bioware games due to more conversations taking place (with you or without you). Usually these types of games the only time people speak are to you directly with the occasionaly NPC chatter or squad banter. Seems so far in MEA this background chatter between squaddies or NPCs happens alot. Or even when seeing your squad say im gonna go do this when you get to the nexus makes you feel they are their own people more than in previous games where they are attached to your hip 100% of the time.

Story has kept me engaged, loved talking to everyone so far and there is so much background chatter with NPCS it is extremely good at helping immersion well done to the writing team.
Banter is off the charts so far though i am on critical path so i will say this, the squad will talk to each other, and you, ALOT when on critical path missions. If i get even half as much dialogue when roaming around you've done better than DAI which was an improvement itself in this regard. Keep that trend going it really fleshes characters personalities out without always having to do it in full blown conversations with cinematics.
Aesthetics - Top notch extremely pleasant on the eyes.
Animations - I got use to the faces pretty quickly they are not as bad when your actually involved in playing the game, vetra has a really weird walk when the Initiate director salarian asks her to come to his office to me it felt like she had an aliens animations (only scene i've seen her do it).
Combat is great though i am playing as a cover shooter(no melee/upclose skills) seems to play the same way as older ME games in this regard though the boost from the jetpack makes moving cover much better.
Multiplayer is solid will be playing this. Initially thought i wouldn't bother but the focus on teamplay instead of PVP has won me over its a lot of fun (ive got BF1 for my pvp needs).
If the lack of facial structure options in CC is a technical limitation(well lack of time available to do it not lack of skill) one thing i will say is if you had added a few different complexions it would have helped ease the pain as complexions can alter the look of a character dramatically without actually morphing the head.
I've had a few issues when reaching a ledge with my jetpack, the animation for climbing starts my character climbs up then just falls back down though if i hold CTRL when approaching the ledge with the jetpack i will climb up just fine maybe a bug? Also it hasn't happened in multiplayer.
So far so good itching for more.

Im running game on 16GB DDR, 970GTX and I5-6600k @4ghz
Probably averaging around 40-60fps (not left habbitat 7 yet though)
Some thoughts to point out, for those using the 970gtx or any gcard with less than 4GB VRAM we won't be able to ultra everything.
Currently i've dropped post processing and shadows down to high everything else maxed no film grain effect. I dropped shadows down to high to stop the game using over 3.5GBvram to prevent my 970gtx from slowing down (the last 500mb of vram isnt as fast).
Once i get to EOS i'll let you guys know if the VRAM is staying below 3.5GB
I'm using just over 8GB of ram on these settings so i suppose a little more tweaking needed for anyone using 8GB ram to prevent slowdown.
