I'm OK with it if it happens as a result of actions taken (in favour of it, in fact), but don't want to be dumped because the plot demands it. That would be annoying. I approve of the Alistair/Loghain dump result. I really hated the Reyes/Cold Blooded Murder of a political opponent dump result. I should have been able to stand for what I believe in (which is anti assasination) and still found a middle ground with him.

I'll take anything as long as it's not another hamfisted, offensive "gay issues" storyline, designed more to make BioWare seem woke, than for gay men to actuallt enjoy it. I greatly approve of this. Time to move on to hamfisted offensive transgender, asexual, and polyamrous issues based storylines.

Hubs and I were on a plane March 16th. 19 days later, and maybe about 3 grocery trips where we attempted careful shopping techniques...April 5th we both felt like crud. This escalated. We had fever of 100+ for 11-12 days. followed by coughing for 1 week. And shortness of air during regular activities, such as picking up a laundry basket, for two weeks. I marked April 23rd as when I resumed exercise, but I could barely handle 30 minutes of 2 mph walking. There was no testing at the time that was available. We assumed we had COVID and quarantined appropriately.
Hubs got his antibodies checked via red cross June 21st. Positive. I got my antibodies checked July 18th. Positive. So at least we got an unknown level of protection for an unknown amount of time for our trouble.
I'm cleaning a lot at work. If two healthy adults can be knocked flat 2+ weeks, then actual sick people don't have much of a chance. And I just don't want to be having that on my conscious.

I am disappointed that nobody has done this one for Inquisition: (The meme isn't old, it's classic!) They missed a chance of making happy Alistair dancing change to frown Alistair dancing when he was paired with Loghain.

Love RitualI had gotten very very mild submissive vibes from Druid-boy in the first round of playing the game, but it wasn't blatant. He was very cuddly, he gently healed an injury, during the erotic scene Player Character goes for a "ride". But there is nothing inherently Dom/Sub in any of that, some men are just empathetic and giving, it doesn't have to be kinky. So I played Necro-boy this time and WHOA. The erotic scene for Necro-boy involves ropes and safe words and rules about calling someone "master". The opposite of my cup o tea.* Still, the only lines that made me laugh in the game came from Necro-boy's potty mouth, so I'll give him that. *didn't stop me from taking some shots with my cell phone to send to my boyfriend to titillate him. He doesn't have to know there were ropes and "masters" involved. Would I recommend? It was $3, and I don't regret that. I did get some moderate feels for Druid Boy. So ya. Time for all the homework I gotta do. Till next time.

Love Ritual So I'm like a magic detective...I don't talk like an idiot outside of obvious exposition... And then one of the two LIs comes into a meeting half dressed (the druid). And acts very emotionally and I'm like... Well, I don't love the other option but you look like an idiot... So I start leaning towards Necromancer. Then he interrogated me, attempted to bribe me...then spilled wine on me just so he could buy me new dresses. Then acts like a jealous fool, proceeds to advise me on getting out to have fun and date more, and literally drags me along by my hand that I didn't offer I'll take the idiot instead. There I was, thinking this was a pretty, but otherwise bland, Visual Novel. And now I've been given a twist and I'm a bit shocked and sad. 🥺 then I totally bang Druid Boy with no regrets 😎 it was pretty darn smexy The end comes pretty quick after that. I liked it. I'll probably try the other LI just to see what he acts like when he's in Lurve

It's all still a big question mark. Some people see the question mark, throw up their hands, and go out living like they always have. Other see the question mark, and hunker down, trying to do less damage until they know what won't cause damage.

Looked into it more. The problem that a lot of public health experts have with that WHO report is that it isn’t adequately distinguishing between asymptomatic people and presymptomatic people. It’s thought that a lot of infection comes from people who eventually present with symptoms. A lot of people want more clarity on those remarks.

Seeing DAII on Steam's top seller list in 2020 is pretty fuckin' surreal for me, let me tell you. Based on my mood at the time, I will argue that DA2 was the best of the three. MAybe because they worked on it personally, they see more flaws than I do. Even my hubs thinks DA2 has the best story, and that's what I'm here for.

Bloodcode
Rapid fire character introductions via meaningless conversation. Then your father dies. And your effing "friends" have the audacity to see you cry for less than an hour and tell you to cheer up. Approximately 2.5 weeks later, you are back at school and asked to investigate your father's death. The school informs you that if you don't make up all the coursework you missed while your were grieving your own family member's death, they will expel you. Then I discover some sort of weird mechanic where I have to arrange her schedule?
Thank you. I hate it. But I have no other new otome to play because broken internet 😒

My internet is DEAD. Luckily, I'd downloaded two other otome before this snafu. So my LOVE LIFE is still kicking.
Ahem.
Crossroads
Took four hours, 5 LIs.
I set out to bring a fan and tea to Grandma. It's a hot day. I take the shortcut and don't get distracted! I met grandma, and we have tea. THE END
I stare blankly at the screen. What?
I set out to bring a fan and tea to Grandma. I take the shortcut. This time I decide to dilly dally at the river. Oh no, lose grandma's fan. She'll be mad. Arrive at grandma's. SHE MURDERS ME. THE END.
I laugh at the screen. Get outta here!
Fine, I declare. I won't take the shortcut! Off to the "shadowy woods" I've been warned about.
The first LI route was pleasant but only mildly interesting at the end (getting trapped in a magical tower only to escape, but have been thrown back in time. The college that had said tower hasn't even been built yet, so you start the college yourself. Timey wimey pretzel) Turns out I'd wandered off the main story like by picking that route. Then I romance a forest guardian, and man does he play hard to get. Then I TRIED to get the wolf man, but he was way more interested in banging my grandmother? XD I don't know whether to hold that against him or not.
it was cool, because depending on choices, you can start route B only to end back up on Route C or A. So it's not branched as hard as the other visual Novels I've tried so far. So having wandered off from wolf man, I try again for the Hunter. And he becomes a Monk I'm just friends with. Wtf Haha
I give up and borrow my roommates phone with good service and drag up a guide. I decide to explore all the other wacky endings. I die 3 more times. I get grandma murdered once. I am very amused. So I definitely try more endings than I normally would, just to see what the writers got up to. I'd rate the LIs thus: wolf> fox guardian > wizard>Angel> Hunter. Wolf gave me some Fenris vibes, that probably biased me. But the Final Angel Route had a story that tied all of the stories together with some Hero Sacrifice that jived with my preferred style of storytelling.
I recommend this game.

Let's not Be Friends I finished it, so now I'll go a bit more in depth. 2/3 romances are problematic, I'll say up front. So the premise of the game is you are a 19 year old lady on scholarship at a Magic School. Most folks pair off, one being Fighter Focused, the other book smart and capable of making magical talismans. MC is the latter. Literally everyone has magic. They really don't much elaborate on how the world exists and how the magic works, and you know what, I didn't need an explanation. It was exactly enough information, primarily picked up from context in conversations, and that's all I needed to understand MC's role in society and motivations. She wants to do well in school, especially because her scholarship depends on it. She's busy with that, unaware of her own stereotypical beauty, and doesn't even reach out to make more friends than the one she's had since she was a baby. Which is weird. Frenz: 3rd PlaceUntil we find out on one of the routes that it's Childhood Best Friend that has grumped, growled, and pressured her into not playing with anyone but him during childhood. This overprotective naturebullying has honestly continued way too long from him, so one of the endings where he grumps off into the sunset by himself and SHE GETS A FUCKING LIFE is ironically the bad ending for one of his routes. He mentions MC not having breasts TWICE on his route. And believe me, really, when I generally default appreciate fighting/arguing/banter and a tinge of playful name calling. But Frenz is actually angry when he says most of this stuff, so it is truly not friendly banter. He appears dominant, controlling, and obsessive. He's frustrated that MC doesn't see in him romantic potential, and takes his temper out on her. Meh. Additionally, he's a bit manipulative regarding some events that make it a bit skeevy. Highlight: When you romance Taf, at least on one route, he actually takes it on the chin with dignity that he's lost you and prioritizes your happiness over his own. eh... the other Taf route, he pretty much dropped you as a friend. sooo... almost cancelled out. Taf: 2nd Place MC calls him a liar like...3 or 4 times. Because he is always lying. He's had a crush on you since that one time you offered him a water bottle and DIDN'T CHECK OUT HIS HOT BOD. Ohmergawd, you are totally different from all the vapid women surrounding him raring to jump his bones. He has mommy issues AND daddy issues, can you even beat that? no you can't. He nearly causes your death as a TEST to see if you try to jump his bones when he "romantically" saves you. Don't you fucking dare flirt with him, in spite of him constantly flirting with you, and his force kissing you (which gets described by the professor as 'sexual assault') or he will inevitably slut shame you until you run away. Literally. Not even joking, that's one of the endings.... Survive all his lying, shallow flirting, and murder attempts and you will pass his test with flying colors. He declares his love for you....yay. Burian: 1st place Nerdy boy. I accidentally played him first. He would win first place by default for simply not being a skeevy abuser. Pros: his back story places him as being a master of both classes of magic. This makes him cool Being out of touch with his emotions made him as innocent as MC. But he actually had a legitimate reason. (bullying from classmates and a family that rejects him made him tamp down his emotions as a form of control. In between the lines, there is a lot of anger simmering underneath his surface, but it is never aimed at MC.) He asks to kiss you, doesn't force or surprise kiss you. On this route, MC is not just sitting there waiting for someone to save her while literally inside of a life or death situation. Mostly. Cons: you don't get to be nice to him. Explained below. Major Con of the Game: the only way to get the good endings appear to be picking mostly all of the rude options where you act like you are thinking of them as little as possible. So you pretend Frenz is a servant, or at best, a brother, until he explodes with verbal anger and confesses his feelings for you. for Burian, you pretty much state you only value strength, and don't much value education/crafting skills (which is kinda insane, coming from a person who has chosen that as her career path) and he doesn't explode but it bothers him enough that he comes out of his shell to try prove he's not a weakling. The only route this being mean to the LI truly made sense was with Taf (did they just hit random letters of the keyboard for this name?). He has a very shallow persona that even he doesn't like. And he wants you to hate it, and it is honestly a bit of a disgusting personality, so it's pretty easy to hate on. I guess I'd rather be made to feel unpleasant than bored? at least it's a reaction. On to the next one.

Continuing my Otome Adventures... I put like 50 otomes in my wishlist so Steam could tell me when they're on sale. Picked up 3 for under $10
Let's Not Stay Friends
I actually intended to go for "Childhood best friend" love interest, because his blushes were adorable, and I like a bit of bickering. But I play blind, so a bit of kindness locked me onto Nerd Boy's route. He was peculiar in his speaking, and I got the "nanner nanner, you didn't pick enough options so Nothing happens!" Ending. So I reloaded (still not feeling gung ho about him, but wanting to complete his route), and my assumptions actually led to a bit of a surprise and a "whew boy, that's steamy" erotic confession scene that definitely put him in a different light for me. Aw. Cutes adorbs.
Then I started from the beginning again and tried to go after childhood best friend. Only to be a bit dismayed. I like some teasing banter, but he straight up negged her by saying she had small breasts. Bad start. Then it seemed all the things I picked just made him angrier and angrier until he storms off. I then recieve the ending where I not only don't romance him, but we stop being friends jeebus. A bit sensitive aren't we? How did we manage friendship for supposedly 19 years?
It's bedtime. I shall attempt Mr. grumpy again later.

Charming Empire
This was $25 game I tried a hefty demo of. They had hidden how much of a spineless puppet the protagonist was, somehow. I made myself finish route 2 of 5. It was perhaps the least disagreeable route, because she changes her personality to the one he described as liking, which is also a personality I like. (Which is disturbing in it's own right). I suspect no other route will come close for this reason. Maybe if I'm truly bored someday, like in a hospital bed Ill, I will ask for hubs to bring me the Switch and I'll play more. But for now I'm done. I think I got 6 hours of...subpar entertainment for $25. The art was nice? They weren't breaking any ground with the writing.

Steam Prison Synopsis of the "Grand Ending" Cyrus realizes that if there is someone in her house sneaking, that she needs a sword. (in every other route, she just skips downstairs in her nightgown, swordless.) Because she is armed and on guard, she does battle with her ex fiance instead of getting knocked over the head (in the dining room.) Her parents do not die (they die every other route). She arrests her Ex Fiance and brings him to the Temple to be processed. The father of the ex fiance brings her off alone and attempts to murder her. Saint Yune interrupts and fiance's dad is arrested. She is approached by Saint Yune for a meeting. Saint Yune realizes he's turned a blind and bored eye on the corruption of the Heights for too long. He wishes to reconnect with the Depths, and start having trade. He sends her as an emissary. She agrees. It's a relatively successful and boring trip. Eltcreed comes as representation of the Depth's politicians. Ulrik, because he actually understands whats going on in the Depths from a lower class perspective, comes along as well. Adage (the Doctor LI) is brought in case something goes wrong and the available doctors in the heights refuse to work on a Depths' resident. Sir Ines comes as a representative of the HOUNDS. They all go up to the Heights with a radio, so everyone can hear everything in the Depths. Well, while Cyrus had been gone for about two days, there was a Coup(of a sort, since Saint Yune doesn't actually lead the country, but whatevs). The groups eludes immediate arrest, and regroups in Cyrus' family home. Fin, your police partner, says he knows a secret way to Saint Yune. This was a trick and a betrayal. There is a scuffles with swords and guns. Fin Double crosses again, and The Police Commander is taken hostage. There is another small scuffle. Ex fiance and his dad are arrested. Saint Yune is freed. There is talking about why trade wants to be established. The Assembly (the ruling party of the Heights) is dissolved. There will be an election one month from then. The new Assembly will be Half Depths Residents, half Heights Residents (to me, this doesn't make sense, power wise. There will be no political control of the Depths' country leaders by the assembly in the Heights, so it should have been more like, two token choices from the Depths, and the rest all from the heights. but i digress.) A very lovely speech is given by Yune by radio to all the Depths countries about why the changes should and are being made. Fin and Cyrus end on a high note. They are both back to being Rank 2 Officers. Love is no longer outlawed, so Fin attempted to confess his love to Cyrus by letter, but it was unnamed and written in a silly fashion, so she threw it away. Cyrus looks into the blue sky with Fin and has some inner thoughts about how freedom and love shouldn't carte blanche be given in exchange for safety and comfort. There are "slides" of a sort telling you how all the LIs (who you did not romance on this route) are doing. - Eltcreed is running his own country, his banking business, and helping with the Assembly. He may finally be out of time to bang the ladies with that work load.
- Ulrik suddenly becomes an engineer and with Eltcreed's funding, starts making planes (this one was a head scratcher to me. He's been a spy for like 10 years. He likes to read and is very smart, but at no point did he express a wish to be an engineer.)
- Doctor Adage starts writing Medical Texts that increase the health of the Depths quite a lot because...reasons. In his route, he actually said the equipment was better in the Depths, so this seems at odds. It does seem the Depths doctors are weak in pandemic/germs/hygeine perhaps.
- Ines is a Heights Police administrator and looks a bit stressed about it. I'm glad he's back in the Heights but paperwork didn't seem like something he wanted.
- Yune is seen smiling as he oversees "the bright future." (his depression at his longevity is never addressed. Perhaps we can assume that this New Renewed Purpose thing makes him happy enough to let that go.)
I kinda feel disappointed with the "Grand Ending". I feel like it contains everything I wanted to happen on the other routes. It's kinda like they had wanted to somehow incorporate it too, but couldn't, so they shoved it into a non romantic ending of it's own. Additionally, some of the characters were kind of psychologically bent by their back stories and yet it was hand waved in the ending. Oh? Adage can just hear about his father's crimes and get over it? If that is true, why was he willing to do horrible things to be close to daddy on some of his bad endings? Meh. I completed all the Happy endings and a handful of bad endings in 28 hours for a $35 game. I would say I liked 3/6 routes, in order of my romantic appreciation: Ulrik, Yune, and Adage. I actively disliked Eltcreed (consent issues) and Ines (just amazingly boring.) before I forget, and move onto anotehr game...Ines is problematic. his big thing is his partner was murdered during an investigation into the corruption up in the Heights. It was hushed up to look like a suicide. Ines than vows to do everything needed to keep a good opinion of the HOUNDS leader, no matter how distasteful that is, so he can be transferred back up to the Heights. He is asked to pointlessly murder many inmates by the insanity that is Sachsen. and I just can't imagine how he can reconcile murdering people who's only crime may have been that they loved someone to seek Justice for his partner? like, wow, dude. your partner must have really wanted some justice there. I enjoyed this for what it was, but there really isn't any replayability here unless I was one of those completionists that like to see beloved characters die just for the "bad endings. The end.

Steam Prison *Tries a different ending*. Uhh...that was a "Fin and Cyrus die together, somewhat romantically" ending.
How many are left... Wait...am I reading this wrong? Am I dumb? I went for the titled end when it's the untitled end I want 🤦
Ohmergaed, is Fin going to kill the man I hate?! Do it! Do it! Kill the man who tortured you! Who killed hundreds for fun! .... Oh. 😭 You didn't have to do it that way, you sweet insane fool...
Aaaaaaand... He broke the deal with the demon rock and they lived happily until he died at some unknown date of natural causes.
The first ending I got was the ending I wanted regarding him dying of love. But it was underwhelming in it's tragedy because it wasn't meant to be "the ending" 😒. Meh. And the kiss scene was tame too, looked like it was on the cheek of all things. The best kissers were ... 🤔 I guess Eltcreed and Adage, because they had knowledge and experience. Then Ulrik's wasn't hot, per se, but it was sweet and fit them. Ines was just as clueless in love as the protagonist 🤦 so their kiss was like..."We just put our lips together, right?" And then Yune, well, it was an enthusiastic? Cheek kiss? Of love....
And we still didn't fix the corruption of the heights! 👿 They are so stupid and corrupt and baaaaah humbug. Maybe the "Grand Ending" will give me what I want.
