So, Mark Darrah has posted a video to talk about his new company (among other things) Triage Games. video He commented on what game engine he'd use and said Unreal is where storytelling is at. Isn't that was David Gaider is using for his interactive musical visual novel?

I hadn't heard, but certainly worth investigating for anyone looking to buy! Recent Reddit Support threads ... Seems to be more like, even if you buy on Steam, you have to use the EA app to play. That comes with it's own annoyances. And issues with DLCs purchased separately having activation issues and people starting to recommend GOG. So maybe not an issue if one buys Ultimate Edition all at once.

Warlock is also technically a full caster, If they allowed Hexblade Warlock... I played one in tabletop and it was totally OP how I built it with polearm master. 3 attacks per turn, the baddies would sometimes throw themselves against my armor of agathys only to die for touching me. Never cast a single eldritch blast. But I don't think BG allows hexblade builds yet. HrungrThat sale is insane. But aren't steam versions of DA having serious issues since the servers went down?

When I googled Inquisition symbol I got the correct real world one. It may be because the big news articles dropped, but over here in the US I typed in "Inquisition symbol" and got nothing but the DAI symbol, the 40k symbol, and Russel Crow paired with the DAI symbol. I had to scroll down to get the Cross symbols on a shield of the real spanish Inquisition. DAI's symbol is the coolest of the 3, I'll give them that.

If this is the writer's intention, then it's a 👍 from me. If it is not, then 👎👎👎 Oh, from that perspective, ya, I'd give it a thumbs up too. Someone said Erend has a serious problem, Varl is not in the running anymore, and Avad hasn't gotten to show anything other than his very pampered leadership side. Aloy may feel like this is the first time she's had to breathe, now that they've bought time with her efforts from base game 2. And then a very beautiful and very capable woman with a similar stubborn "I'll do it myself" personality shows up in front of her. Additionally, learning Elizabet was, at the very minimum, bisexual may have given her licence to explore her own bisexuality.
That all said, I'm fine with her being a canon lesbian if that's what she was. I just object that they threw men at her several times and let the player decide how they want to handle that aspect of her, only to wrest control of that subplot out of player hands. From a "Would I replay the series" perspective, that would make every one of those decisions a waste of player time to consider.
Magical Otoge Iris Demo
This was a roller coaster of quality. I went from, "This is awful, why did someone recommend this to me," to "omg how is it making me cry". Then it went right back into awful. And then the demo ended on a huge up swing of emotional investment. I was given a choice I honestly didn't know what the right one was- Craziness. I think it's because the writer chose some dark themes but writes about them like a cheerful child. Although the protagonist is themselves 20, they act like a cheerful child and then the serious things happen and she appears mature for a little bit. will buy on sale

I played Horizon: Forbidden West and was sad to see it lost the part of it I loved. It had echoes of what I loved about the narrative, in the form of the black boxes---which were an optional collectible quest. It's strong battle mechanics made up for a lot, but I'm unlikely to buy the sequel they're planning considering they didn't even bother handing me a good ending to the FW, just gave me sequel bait and hoped I wouldn't notice. And I spoiled myself about the DLC and I dunno man. I'm pretty much het, not enough bisexual to fly my own flag about it. But I find it skeevy that the only person Aloy gets to kiss is another woman she just met. It implies that lesbianism is genetic? Why even give us opportunities to accept/reject the men folk if she's going to be canon into women? It's not like the studio promised a bioware experience by a long shot but I'm bothered about it anyway. They invited me to be in her shoes and pick things for her to get me invested but my choices don't matter. Meh Otherwise, it's been all visual novels for me. Tried David Gaider's interactive musical, "Stray Gods". Any of you seen/played it? Rapid fire judgement of VN I've tried via emoji - Touchstarved Demo

I bought the first issue of "The Missing", read it, and ended it feeling angry. Varric is the Viscount. Solas knows Varric. Literally anyone other than Varric could do this, so I could not swallow the big line about how it had to be him. I was busy anyway, so I figured, when my mind cooled down, and all the issues were out, maybe I'd pick it up again. But all the spoilers I read through, it all sounds stupid (except the arlathan thing sounded cute/funny). IT sounds very easy to skip and that absolutely nothing about it will contribute to my understanding of DA:D.
Now that I think of it, the only comics I ever really liked about Dragon Age were the ones about already beloved characters going on another adventure. But Varric has so worn out his welcome there are holes in the carpet.
Spring 2024 then?

For both genders that is. It's like the one of the few realtionships that haven't been explored in bioware games, at least recently. As a person who has explored open relationships before, I would prefer a situation where we can date one member of an already established couple. The person that wasn't directly romanced by the main character would just be cool with it, and we'd ultimately form a V. One with a fem appearance and the other with a masc appearance would be best. Approaching one only to hear they come as a pair or not at all is called, "Unicorn Hunting", is frowned on. In poly circles it is seen as dehumanizing and disempowering to the approaching single person, in that case our player character. And that isn't going to feel good, and will result in poorly representing a complex subculture.

For voice acting in DA, Kate Mulgrew became expensive after Orange is the New Black (which released in 2013)- Hmm... Why they killed off Flemeth? That body was getting old anyway. What I'm truly sad about is Claudia Black not coming back. It's not like I want Morrigan to keep on suffering, I certainly don't want her to be the next vessel but like...she's just checking out? after knowing so much?

First Tassia would be a great companion. I like it but maybe after Aveline and Cassandra it would be a little to much repetition. Also why not a romance? I mean years will pass since then so she can still mourn and make her peace. Like Cassandra before. Aveline felt responsible for Kirkwall, and her morals twisted a little bit under the conflicting priorities. She was more devoted to order, than any other belief system. Tassia would wield a hammer, not a sword, and devoted to the people of Tevinter. Doesn't seem that committed to the Maker, so nothing like Cassandra the "Have you thought about worshipping the Maker today?" Pentaghast. What you going to say next, not another warrior dwarf? Not another rogue elf? like, there are 4 species and 3 classes, eventually all of them will play out.

Would anyone really want to side with a group of red lyrium addled, bat shit crazy Templars? You got a laugh out of me. I always thought the Templars who were like, ya, red CRYSTALS growing out of my skin sound great implied they were pretty crazy to begin with. Still, it was originally open to question where the spirits went after death and they couldn't be recalled to ask. Who's to say these aren't just spirits holding the imprints of a person? when you cast this spell, you get a spirit that is more imprinted. Between the actual memories and the feelings emanating from the caster, you get a very believable replica to interact with. Frankly, both scenarios strongly smack of a compassion spirit popping up to make a nearby person feel better.

You’re assuming they’d put time and effort into the Inquisitor. They didn’t with Revan. They didn’t with Hawke. They just slapped their preference and bastardized them if they were anything else and just oh well to everyone else. Sorry that doubt you there but man i think with the Absolution´s end twist Dragon Age could have finally lost me. Right now i don´t care whomever is back i can´t believe that they had done is. I am talking of course about Meredith. Is this Episode 9 or what? It´s so stupid and Dreadwolf already had enough story plotpoints so why adding Merediths war against Tevinter? I really think am getting too old for this shit...Maybe some folks even liking the idea of Merediths return but come on Bioware don´t you have better & new ideas than bringing Red Lyrium Meredith back who wasn´t great in the first place. I like normal Meredith as a villian but Red Lyrium Meredith not a fan. Keep in mind, all of this may be handled in season 2 and be just a story Varric brings up to the new protagonist in DA:D

Yet another Mage betrayer/traitor. Everyone keep your eyes open when Dreadwolf comes around. When Solas drops the veil, everyone will be a mage. Then we'll be doomed to paranoia.
Seriously, though. We've had Blackwall(kinda). And Bull if you choose wrong. And Isabela. Its not *always* a mage. Its just that there always *is* a mage. lol If Tassia joins the party in DA:D, it good be an Iron Bull Chargers/vs Qun thing. If you veer off too much from Tevinter aligned goals, she'd be willing to off you. Let's be real, the writers either forgot or they just wanted to focus all the racism on Miriam since she's the main character which I think was a mistake. It should've been a 50/50 split between her and Qwidyon. And Miriam has the mark on her face that was clearly seen when they looked under her hood. I almost feel like they just made up the anti elf sentiment to get a bribe at the gate.

12/9/2022 a Netflix series called Dragon Age Absolution dropped. It had six episodes. Suspected timeline is just after the events of Trespasser but before the full Qunari invasion has occurred. Possibly making it before the events that took place in the short stories novel, Tevinter Nights. To be super clear, the spoilers I'm posting below are absolutely 100% spoilers of this Netflix series in regards to what it may affect in DA:D and not an actual synopsis of the show. Historically, House Pavus made a magical artifact of resurrection called the Circularum. A disbanded Inquisition sent *Fairbanks* and company (including a Lord of Fortune) to go after it, a theft from the summer palace of the Black Divine. They were semi successful, but ultimately betrayed. The events of this series show that it is now on it's way to Knight Commander Meredith in Kirkwall. She is "alive" in that her voice emanates from formless red lyrium that red lyrium templars are reporting to. They are now referring to her as the Crimson Knight. This brings the mural depicting a red lyrium creature in the lower left corner into question. Will Meredith gain some red lyrium legs and join the fight against Solas in DA:D? Is that Cory-face in the bottom right still wishing he had his green glowy ball? PS: There is also another dragon free in Thedas. Hoorah- may there be many dragonlings and much fewer mabari.

If I'm not mistaken, in the book Meredith is still a statue in the middle of Kirkwall, not hidden somewhere in the city, surrounded by her followers. That status is there, but all the lyrium is connected. Does her "mind" have to stay in one spot or can it travel the length of the network like tree branches? Does Bioware have a fetish for rogue elf/human mage lesbian couples? It's what, third already? O_o Who are the other two? Sera/Dagna-- nope. Celene/Briala -- nope. Charter and whatsherface? wasn't she a warrior Masked Empire also set things up for DAI, although again it wasn't necessary to have read it. After reading it, what happens and should happen at the winter palace is super clear. The game doesn't come close to explaining WHY Leliana herself wouldn't have filled inky on the slaughter of the alienage that she helped perpetrate?

So the timeline assumption seems to be before Varric is even viscount which is kinda disappointing because now it puts Varric in the upcoming comic as being a MIA Viscount. Getting whiplash on this. Maybe these events made him Viscount in the first place. Varric is viscount when Absolution takes place because it is after the Inquisition “broke up”. Oooo. I am not 100% on the pulse of this timeline business, thank you for correcting me. Post Trespasser, Pre Tevinter Nights. So a war is happening, and Tevinter folk not being mean to the Qunari mage is weird.

Sorry mabye use another NPC or a new as fake bestrayer I literally thought it either 1 wasn't Fairbanks or 2. The reason Fairbanks constantly brought up his wife while going after a resurrection magic tool? She's dead. And he wants her back in a dark black grief. Meredith are also back as villians or oh what a twist surprising allies? in Dreadwolf? Is the Dreadwolf alone not good enough. If the timeline is post trespasser so a lot of time has passed by DA:D

Seeing Meredith come back didn't particularly surprise me, I recall there was some lore hinting she wasn't really dead, but how did she create a whole cult in Kirkwall under Varric's nose? Because he keeps gallivanting off and neglecting his duties? Who can say? If it is something that does get included in the game, no doubt we will find out then.So the timeline assumption seems to be before Varric is even viscount which is kinda disappointing because now it puts Varric in the upcoming comic as being a MIA Viscount. Now I've gotten to the twist and... wth? O.o Current theory: Fairbanks is not Fairbanks. Second theory: Fairbanks is Fairbanks, and Hira is evil. Cus WHY ON EARTH would you release that ward if you aren't? How'd she even know it would do what it did? Cus she did seem to know. Also, the light bypassed her harmlessly... Yeah, no. Going with that as primary theory. Hira is suss. I thought she was just casting some sort of anti magic on what was clearly some sort of magical temple thingy. Ya ,I should have picked up she clearly knew too much. But Bioware tricks me every time, I'm super gullible and willing to fill in the blanks. 've noticed Neb the guard is featured prominently in them in a panel and he/she hasn't even spoken yet. I noticed that too. I have no idea how Tassia didn't pick up on him being a corpse. And the blank yandere look upon spotting miriam doesn't help lol I know this look well woman like that doesn't deserve your tears" does give off villain vibes, though I don't knwo what he means by "a woman like that"??? And I still think she's suss, so...Hmmm. Man, another flag I missed. I just interpreted it that, "No one is good enough for you, my sister." Timeline-wise, this seems to be set after Trespasser, but before (at least some of) the events in Tevinter Nights. I don't recall any mention of the Qunari attacking Tevinter in the series. Let me know if they did though! Oh, I guess that would make sense. I wonder why they didn't do a release and save TN for later then. This location seemed to be in the middle of nowhere, maybe very south, so I just figured they were not in the fight. But ya, the war not being lost yet connects with not being Anti Qunari appearing people yet. - I am also still confused about who Memory was talking about. Like, why would he be hesitant to name either Hira or Meredith? He wasn't hesitant. He was never asked He said, "People who want this are going to destroy Tevinter, you shouldn't use it." And then Rez the idiot was like, "No one asked you for your opinion, now tell me what I actually want to know!" Pride demon created. No one should see these plans but they look over them in a public tavern? This was a moment that made me so disappointed I was like... if this wasn't Dragon Age I would stop watching. Idiot Balls are lazy writing.

Qwydion is so goofy and lovable, I seriously wonder if she's Ben-Hassrath. I don't. You can't fake a cutesy nature like that- she was kind to the elven slaves even with no witnesses. They're just laying groundwork that it's not only Inky who can be a Vashoth mage. I question the legitimacy of the mission. In the end, I feel like this was justified. I wonder what the Inquisition even knew about it. Just that Meredith wanted it? One thing the first episode already shows is that not every elf lives poorly in Tevinter. Well, that's the double edged sword we want to see regarding the matter in Tevinter. I think it was very well shown with both Hira's BG story ANd Rez. "I will take care of you, well, but do everything I say and be grateful. Otherwise..." -I appreciate that they acknowledged that the Dragon is going to ravage the countryside because that was my only thought. t's kinda bothersome that the elf is getting all the shit but not the Qunari. I noticed that and was very confused about that. Isn't a war raging right now that Tevinter is losing? who's cool with the Rando horn lady? Maybe because she was a mage so they knew she couldn't be Qun? . He was just hiding it to keep Tassia around since she is clearly against it. For sure, he was into blood magic all along. As bad as his mother for sure. Tassia would make a great Tevinter companion. Yay! I'm not the only one who saw her as good companion material.

Resurrection of dead characters... Oh please for god of good storytelling don´t do this Lyrium brought back Leliana. Gotta say, I didn't expect them to do it again, but it's establish lore and they'll do what they want with it. If it makes you feel better Leliana's ressurection being in a holy mountain full of lyrium, and this one required a more painful initial transformation. I don't think they're going to start using it for everyone. And weren't there red lyrium zombies? so even in the media so far... pseudo resurrection is spontaneously happening in the wild in red lyrium locations. I do wonder at the sudden interest she has in crushing Tevinter though (beyond just "Mages Bad"). Me too. It could be just be like, Justice was twisted into being willing to murder just to free mages. Her living desires could have been twisted in this new transformation. Who is to say this is truly Meredith?ira had a sort of deal with the one who had the circulum, was then very invested in trying to steal it back, and the crux of her secret (selling miriam back) was quite Celene and Briala-esque, a complete abuse of power and trust by a powerful human and their elven lover who is of much lower standing and being treated like an item I think it's good in a way. It takes a lot to break the culture that you were raised in. Hira sobbing about her family being destroyed for being do gooders to slaves- and she still was willing to sell Miriam back. So their whole "be nice to slaves" was a do gooder notion that didn't have enough true belief behind it. Dorian probably would have kept thinking slaves were okay and never really considered the ramifications of freedom until his own father tried to use blood magic to take his freedom away. That was traumatizing enough to make him change irrevocably and never make those choices. But every Tevinter mage was raised this way. Dorian is always going to be the exception . in view of that I'd rather they had left him running the Dales, poor chap. Fairbanks is a lot cooler to me now. I only regret that his body went into a barrel and will be thrown into a mass grave later. did anyone else pick up on the fact that the Circulum used to belong to the Pavus family? yes, immediately. No Magister bloodline is clean. There was stuff to chew over, which if it is going to be in the game, could account for why we haven't heard more from Bioware recently as they thought the series could do the talking. Honestly, I agree. That series did a lot to satisfy me in a way that TN, other short stories, and the stupid trailers have not. he Venatori were created years ago...so Cory just usurped them? OMG! Thanks for noticing this, that's a cool idea. I just found it amusing that Tassia thought the Divine wouldn't approve of blood magic considering what we learned in Asunder. She is drinking the Kool Aid on the Official Story for sure. Besides, that guy was put down, which is just what fits that narrative. We assumed it referred to DA2, but now...? Ooo, I'd forgotten about that mural altogether. It now has a futuristic feeling for sure. Although it didn't look like she could walk anywhere at that moment.
