Bad Weapon Showdown 3-D: Raptor Vs. Scimitar!

Raptor is actually a stastically pretty good weapon. Lightweight, accurate and good DPS, with a negligible hipfire penalty. As long as you aren't a baby fingered weakling, it's an outright upgrade to the Ultra Rare Indra. I've shown a few sceptical BSNers what it's capable of.

Scimitar is utter garbage and in contention for worst weapon in the game. At point blank it does about half the Raptor's DPS, nevermind being completely useless past 10 feet. It doesn't deserve to even be in the shotgun class, as the only thing its OHKing is husks (if you're lucky).

I've no idea how this is even a contest. Raptor is a plat viable primary, while I'd literally rather have the Shuriken than the Shitmitar.

I prefer Scimitar; I like to save my fingers for something more rewarding.

Raptor isn't bad though.

It's 44 per pellet, times 6.5. It is supposed to fire 8 pellets, but if we trust in damage numbers on Kalence it's roughly 6.5 for all shotguns except GPS and Graal (and Talon at 5).

286 base damage on high rate of fire is still not that bad. This is almost an entire clip of Predator, mind you. As I said before, buffing base 44 to 65 makes Scimitar and amazing shotgun which completely replaced my Wraith on a few builds because the faster fire rate and bigger clip helps on class playstyles where your weapon is just a secondary tool and you want to focus less on dealing with your weapon and more on your powers and movement. Wraith, as amazing as it is, can be quite sluggish sometimes. Alternative is the Talon, but we want some diversity, right? It's not good enough in vanilla to be competitive with Talon for this role but with a slight buff it can be a viable and fun alternative.

Bring your goddamn GI and I'll take your lunch with my vanilla solider with a scimitar. The scimitar is an awesome weapon if you can use it properly.

I mean I don't want to brag but I'm a bad mofo with the scimitar. I make good players pull their hair out with that weapon bc they underestimate it. It's repeated ammo application not raw damage. If you spam concussive shot and prioritize humanoid targets not many players can keep pace.
