I know this sounds dumb and made up, but it's not.....I have an autograph to prove it. I went to a con last week and met Troy Baker. We talked for about 10 minutes. I told him we needed to get Nolan there next time. These are his exact words: "Yeah, he was supposed to come with me, actually! But....he's a busy man. He's working on another game." I believe you're correct. The main character has the same running animation of Nathan Drake. Nolan North did do the mocap thing. So yeah. I agree the voice is Nolan North.

Yeah, he sounds very close to Nolan North. Especially the "... good.", that sounds like Nathan Drake when he realised something bad is about to happen  The asari sounds so damn familiar and I swear this could've easily been a voice actress from the ME trilogy already... Seems like an unimaginative choice. That and the cookie cutter protagonist on show really didn't do Bioware any favours. I honestly don't think it's important if the choice is imaginative, but that the VA makes a good job. North is known to be a good VA, so I'm hopeful he'll deliver with Andromeda. I don't see how choosing him (if they did) is necessarily bad. I agree with the PC appearance. Even if the default male and female PC have to share similar features to look like siblings, they could've given him some unique features. Not that I particulary care, since I was going to customize him in any case. He's a good VA but I've played so many games with Nolan North. I would've hoped that Mass Effect wouldn't be just any other game. I would have loved if Bioware had found a relative nobody who hits it out of the park like Rockstar did with Marston in Red Dead.
Iconography's important. I dare say Skyrim wouldn't have reached popular conscious without the cool viking guy in the trailers. This Ryder looks and sounds like he could be in any game.
