The Asari sounds like Christine Lakin, who voiced Marisa Chase (Uncharted: Golden Abyss) and Jane (Telltale's The Walking Dead: Season 2). If that's her, and Ryder is voiced by Nolan North, then we have an Uncharted: Golden Abyss reunion on our hands.

Definitely sounds like Nolan North, I kinda wish they had gone with someone different just to be refreshing.
I was a fan of the rumors of the deus ex guy being doing voice work buy hey, at least we know Nolan wont screw it up

Which Dues Ex guy? Adam Jensen? I think his voice single handedly put me off the new Dues Ex games.

Well in fairness it wasn't just his voice. That character design is just awful.

I was expecting - and, I'll admit, hoping - that they'd have a relatively unknown VA for Ryder. The previous ones have been, for the most part: Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale, Jo Wyatt and Nicholas Bolton, the DA:I quartet. None of them could really have been considered mainstream beforehand.

I don't like thinking of another character or game when I hear my protagonist speak, for fear of my precious immersion being broken. But I think Nolan will grow on me in any case. And I'm probably going to play as FemRyder anyway. Heh heh heh.

Jennifer Hale was definitely mainstream before ME.

I wouldn't mind Nolan North. It might actually make me play a full male Ryder playthrough. I know he's voiced a lot of characters but Nolan North to me will forever just be Peter Hastings in Pretty Little Liars

In Bioware games I tend to make characters that I customize to look like me (for the most part) and act similar to me and this is what I had planned for MEA too but if Nolan North is voicing male Ryder I will definitely do the first playthrough as male and do FemRyder later.
Nolan's perfomances are always engaging

Well in fairness it wasn't just his voice. That character design is just awful.

What!? I love his design, its stylish yet functional and the voice fits perfectly, such a badass. Its a little gruff sure but that lends character which helps prevent him from being just another bland generic guy protagoist to which I refer you to a Mr Nathan Drake voiced by Nolan North, who was conceived in a lab attempting to clone indiana jones and has never had a single original thought in his band existance.

That being said Nolan North providing generic guy voice may help with a character which is supposed to an avatar of the player.
