Things we know they will not answer: - When is the patch being released (they are not allowed to give dates)
- Will exact thing X be added to the game (they are not allowed to commit to anything publicly)
- Why don't you play on Gold / Kett / with crappy weapons / etc. (the stream is just background to the discussion and it's hard to play and talk at the same time)
- DLC? (when asked previously, Fernando Melo / @ DiscoBalaboo was coy and gave me a winking smilie)
I'll try to live-post anything interesting that happens like I did last time. Whatever I gather up I will also post on the reddit thread.
Planned questions - blend of my own and edited versions of your suggestions. INTRO Thanks for being here! I have gathered up many questions from fellow players on the unofficial Bioware fan message boards. Here goes… QUESTIONS IN ROUGH PRIORITY ORDER PATCHES / BUGS Can we expect hotfixes to new bugs caused by the 1.06 patch or will we need to wait more weeks / months for the next big patch? answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/MP-Various-bugs-issues-list-Over-100/td-p/6000396/page/3 Going forward, will pure balance changes (like adjustments to weapon numbers) require a client-side patch or can they be achieved through server-side changes like they were in ME3? The 1.06 patch and balance notes are great; however, many changes were still not documented and have only been uncovered by fans. Why is it so hard to get accurate reports on the state of the game mechanics? Related: Would you consider adding an optional, more detailed killfeed with detailed damage information and timings? This would make testing much easier for both you and the dedicated fan community. Which aspect of MP is the focus for the next (1.07) patch? - (will likely be proactively addressed in Twitch video) EA Answers HQ On EA Answers HQ, can we get a regularly updated ‘Known Issues’ sticky with possible workarounds to reduce duplicate reports and keep the community informed? The last EA Answers HQ ‘Known Issues’ sticky was put out with 1.05 and has not been updated since, despite new common issues / workarounds being repeated daily. answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Bug-Reports-issue/m-p/6053470#U6053470 Would it make sense to separate the EA Answers HQ MP from SP bug reporting into their own sections? DESIGN PHILOSOPHY What is the design philosophy around powers-based classes like the Asari Huntress and the Krogan Mercenary, who don’t have any way to self-detonate their own combos? Which of the Player Character races do you feel fulfills your vision the best? Which needs the most work? Which of the enemy factions do you feel fulfills your vision the best? Which needs the most work? Have you considered adjusting the Upload objective? It would be nice if enemies didn't halt progress or at least respawned farther away. Do you feel that the ‘scrapper’ playstyle (melee-focused, point-blank, with shotgun and/or pistol) gives the right reward for its inherent risk and frustration? To clarify: A ‘scrapper’ is exposed to a lot of fire from extremely accurate enemies and can be easily staggered out of melee, which was chosen instead of durability. Do you feel that, to paraphrase the 1.05 patch notes, melee and shotgun builds are conveying the correct amount of reward for the greater inherent risk? QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS Any plans for lobby improvements? (such as: AFK indication / Countdown timer when 3 people ready / Join an actual 'Random/Random' game, not the same Apex lobby repeatedly) Any plans to show in-game who is the Host after Host Migration? (so the new Host knows not to buffer video, etc.) Player Characters bounce off each other excessively, especially in narrow doorways. This same problem happened initially in DAI but was eventually fixed. Why has the problem recurred in MEA, which uses the same game engine? Are there any plans to add ping numbers to host or maybe also ping to other players in the lobby? Modders were able to do this in DAI, so the numbers are already there, they just need to be revealed in the lobby screen somewhere. OUTRO Thank you very much for answering my questions! Kind of curious about what they improved in 1.06 to reduce lag for players and hosts.
Will weapon adjustments continue to be only done via patch?
Have they considered adjusting the Upload objective? It would be nice if dogs didn't halt progress or at least respawned farther away.

Given that the game is nearing a state it should have been in at release I would like to know if there ever was a discussion about maybe delaying the release of the mp alone or the complete game further.

They've been coy about DLC. Which is not a good sign. I have this feeling that DLC won't be as good in quality or quantity compared to ME3MP DLC over their respective life cycles. Hopefully I'm wrong about that.

I have this feeling that DLC won't be as good in quality or quantity compared to ME3MP DLC over their respective life cycles. No shit, Sherlock! = = = I updated the OP with planned questions. A couple of them could even be considered hard-hitting. Am I a games journalist now? If so, when do I start getting bribed by EA for favorable coverage?

I just find it hard to believe we'll get any meaningful answer to the question. They are not going to say, "Yup we released the game early due to management and financial pressure. We knew it was buggy as hell but hey, thanks peddroelm et al. for testing everything. You guys are the best! Buy more Andromeda Points!" Your second question, I suspect they will proactively address, but I'll add it to my list in case they don't.

I think pretty much everything power wise is at least headed in the right direction. I wish they would look at making some powers detonate and some prime. Flak cannon in particular needs to be a detonator which would bring a lot together on the kits that power is on without being too OP. Huntress particularly just needs some kind of adjustment or power exchange to make her able to generate her own combos easily.
I guess I would phrase it why can't all power based classes generate their own combos easily? Was power synergy not something they looked at? I can understand combat classes revolving more around buffing gun damage but power classes need some work. Most everything is better with kits with primer and detonators but some are still clunky.

Feel free to rephrase- the intent of my question is to call into focus the fact that melee gameplay feels unrewarding, even if it's technically effective by-the-numbers, because of a combination of factors: the great deal of fire it exposes you to(particularly jarring for having to sacrifice durability for melee damage or vice versa), the extreme mobility of some enemy types(observers, obviously, but raiders, assemblers, and sharpshooters all kite to an aggravating degree with no loss in speed or accuracy), the sync-kill threat of other enemy types, and the seemingly-counterintuitive stagger weights evident in any fistfight. (1) Official Forums question seems a little snarky. We know those forums are an afterthought. Won't ask. (2) Lobby - good question, will add to my list. (3) Their own bug report form is bugged? *facepalm* -- will ask. Lobby is the biggest 'usability' issue I see right now in MP: - People join/leave every 2 seconds trying to find a different match.
- Laggy matches in progress often highest on the join list, but are also the most likely to cause constant disconnects.
- I want to join specifically 'random/random' but end up in matches with specific enemies/maps still.
- Can't even tell if I'm the host or not after a host migration ingame.
Am I safe to buffer a video, or will it lag everyone else out?
Pretty sure the bug report section is fixed now, just pre-empting a new static 'known issues' sticky (seen new posts and finally able to edit my original post again). "Can we expect hotfixes to new bugs caused by the 1.06 patch or will we need to wait another month?" And this - would be helpful if you create something on Answers HQ with the new bugs, that I can point to. Question more is about client patch turnaround time than specific bugs I think - Which is a tricky one given certification if they still plan on a combined patch day. There's plenty of reports about 2560x1440 on the AHQ board, and I'm pretty sure I've seen at least one dev acknowledge it on twitter. Been adding anything new I encountered to the end of my list, as well as updating existing ones that were stealth-fixed or still present in 1.06: answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/MP-Various-bugs-issues-list-Over-100/td-p/6000396/page/3Already sent a link to a couple of them on twitter though after I verified like 80% were still present in just a few hours last night, so probably don't need to spam them with it.
