She was always a beast. Still like my old playstyle with her, and I'm not willing to change. While I still play the same way, switching the weapons and melee rank in offensive biotics to combo detonation appears to definitely be the way to go.

Asari Sentinel has always been good, IMO. I moved to her after Infiltrators bored me, used ammo powers to spam the weak explosions we had way back when. But now she is downright amazing. I always preferred the sentinel to the adept, anyway

All you gotta do is check the Passives bullet list on the Character screen and compare the Asari Sent to the Human Sent. The Asari Sent is obviously more Powers-centric, whereas the Human Sent is more Weapons-centric.
Aside from Backlash vs Barricade, these Passive bonuses are what really differentiate the two. And the Asari Sent's Cooldown reduction evo got buffed another 10% this patch. I heartily endorse speccing her for as fast Cooldowns as possible, and wearing a Cooldown Booster. The Human Sent should wear a Weapon Rail Amp, and optionally hug their Barricade for even more Weapon bonuses.
Both should use your choice of Cryo or Incendiary Ammo.

(well, how I plan to build anyway, my asari sentinel isn't levelled) Human sentinel is a fantastic hybrid of great weapon damage, support and 'splosions. The asari sentinel is less weapon, more 'splosions.

Fav kit and yeah she was a beast but now... Godly.
I always always use cryo or incin ammo on her. The trick is knowing the rotation of which explosions you want to use.... Obviously prime with ammo... If you throw first you can detonate a fire explosions then if you have throw a primer detonate a biotic explosion that a team mate can then detonate a tech burst on.... OR trigger the fire explosion with energy drain then tech burst with throw for cc stun that a team mate can detonate a BE from the throw.
Run with a power efficiency 3 or 4 and she is really top notch explosion queen!

What about a 6-1-6-6-6 build 1 being throw or do you need throw now?
I'm also thinking of doing 6-6-6-5/6-3/1 with 5/6 being in off biotic and 3/1 being tech armor for a big combo build. But it might make her too squishy.
Also is melee on her still viable?
What do you guys think

I've been skimping a bit on Fitness, Melee isn't really her thing imo. I think Rank 6 Backlash is also unnecessary

Mobs mostly stop shooting at you while it's up anyway, so unless you throw it up against Anointed or Observers, you won't really be gaining much from the buff.

I usually go 5 fitness 3 shield.
It's handy enough to block a second or two if caught out in the open... You get a little more durability and a better recharge if you need to hold it.
On kett, the ability to reflect a accendant orb blast right back makes the skill in of itself. That orb does work in a large aoe and does really good damage to whatever you send it to. You'll almost always blow up the orb if it's taken some damage plus anyone near you isn't getting hit by it if they fall back a bit and I jet forward.

Okay that Backlash gif has made me curious. What should I drop to put into it though? I love her combo explosions. This is what I ended up going with after talking to a wise Salarian on here: 5/6/6/5/4 She can make so many splosions it isn't even funny. That is without any ammo boosters, which I would recommend cryo or incendiary. You also get some good utility from Backlash which I recommend practicing making trick shots with. I was once able to finish off a Nullifier by reflecting an Observer laser at it's stupid face and it was awesome sauce.

Observers and Anointed don't stop firing once they start, so they will not stop shooting at you when Backlash is up. These are the easiest mobs to kill other guys w/. Most other things, like Chosen, fire in really short bursts, so if they are already firing, they'll finish their burst and then find something else to shoot, in my personal experience. I haven't played w/ it much since the patch, but pretty much every other mob in front of the shield will just pick an easier target if I put Backlash up. Mobs behind you give zero fucks, of course. I don't honestly mind; Backlash is there as a defensive, and a room full of enemies deciding to stop firing at me is pretty damn good as defensives go. I love Backlash, I use it in my SP build as well. The mobs stop shooting you in SP too.

Apologies for being late to the party. Decided to try this Sentinel. Over a period of a few games I have been trying to reflect the Destroyer's super charged bolt but not doing very well. Am I bad with my timing or is it a futile effort. IIRC you can reflect Ascendent's red ball correct? What weapons do you guys normally run with this kit? I run the Ushior I find her not as aggressive as the Asari Adept (perhaps its my L2P issue) but she is more than viable for gold difficulty.

I don't think you can reflect Destroyer bolts but it definitely works on Ascendants with the right placement.
She was great character before the update, versatile and durable. Now she just minces anything with a shield.

So I'm not clear on something. Is she dependent on ammo consumables to be solid or a particular weapon? Those of us who are completely new to her could benefit from more specific info.
Could someone that does well with her on gold breakdown her playstyle a bit please?

I don't use backlash though and tend to hold onto energy drain until I need shields or a tech explosion.

Grab as many Power Cooldowns as you can, wear a Cryo/Incendiary Booster and a Power Cooldown Booster, explode all the things, reflect fire from Nullifiers/Sharpshooters/Observers/Annointed/Ass-cendants, win
