Anyway, i may be reading too much into this but he said "we fled the galaxy" instead of "we leave the galaxy". Too me this feels like the Arks left the Milky Way when the Reaper war was already happening.

One of the first bits of info about MEA that we were told was that the 3 and a half "endings" that were in ME3 would not matter and/or be canonized. The only way that was possible is if they left before the end of the Reaper War. |

I don't think it would make sense if we leave during the Reaper War since the Reapers move quickly and judging by the size of the ARKs, it seems like the Reapers would be able to notice them rather quickly. I don't know, it could be that they justify with stealth technology or something. I just see it as making more sense if they leave before Mass Effect 3.
