Interesting. Doesn't save as much time as I thought it would.

Interesting. Doesn't save as much time as I thought it would. I mean keep in mind im talking about game time, not time spent in lobbies etc. But yeah, not that much really when you break it down.

Aw yes....micro transactions. Spending real life currency for in-game items that can be earned simply by just playing the game.

While I think your math is right, it is only right at our level of play currently.
It would be interesting if you did part two, where you mention what it would mean to the average player, where we keep in mind that the average player largely plays silver, or more likely, bronze.
I consider myself extremely fortunate that I found someone even remotely decent to play with initially, because it let me play the game at an enjoyable pace, even with the ~70 packs I purchased thus far in order to get effective ASAP.

I've only spent about £30 in micro transactions.
It was not worth it.

So I only saved about 60 hours of play time when I bought my packs when I first started. Not too bad.

The only point where you'd see any REAL benefit is the first day of playing. Getting an UR weapon on day 1 (with 1.06 balancing), might let you basically skip bronze if you played enough ME3 to know how. This would essentially multiply the benefit of the packs. That being said, even the multiplier effect couldn't get me to buy them.

It's not even that realistic. He's taking into account that you'll take 47 minutes to get a premium pack. I get one every 24-30 minutes, so... in my case:
Minimum time: 9.6 hours.
Maximum time (30 minutes per premium): 12 hours

I've spent zero money in microtrasactions. Luckly will also be getting some money back on the game. Still a good video. Just hope that the lesson learned here is irl money on this game is not worth it.

Saving time is not an incentive, it is a disincentive. Paying robs you of the satisfaction of earning things, and it shortens your enjoyment of the game. If you pay even one time, everything you do afterward is tainted by the influence of the freebie.

I worked hard for my money which I used to purchase points. I earned it by working hard in the real world.

I mean yeah, but I don't even know the max credit payouts for silver and bronze and I imagine the majority of users who browse BSN are gold level players.

If you pay even one time, everything you do afterward is tainted by the influence of the freebie. Some of us have real world jobs and busy lives that don't allow for playing video games for hundreds of hours to get a maxed manifest. If someone has disposable income to spend then there is absolutely nothing wrong with spending it on microtransactions.

Some of us have real world jobs and busy lives that don't allow for playing video games for hundreds of hours to get a maxed manifest. If someone has disposable income to spend then there is absolutely nothing wrong with spending it on microtransactions. I spent like $4000 on micro transaction here and there after I got my iphone 5 in year 2013. I spend $4000 between 2013 - 2015... and I learned that I was being a pawn in the game that I can never come out on top. (Spending $20-$30 a week seemed no heavy bleeding... but clearly they add up over time) I stopped doing any kind of micro-transaction since 2015 September... and I cannot be happier about it. Now I use the money to treat my family and buy other goods I enjoy. ...I think of that $4000 as the fee to learn the lesson not to associate myself with gambling ever again. Anyhow, I agree with your point saying there is nothing wrong how someone spends their disposable income. They will have to learn their lessons their own way... or never. lol

I've only been playing for a week. Haven't got any maxed out kits or really good weapons yet. So yeah, no gold for me yet. Silver is enough of a challenge as it is.
I hate that the grind is much worse than it was in ME3.
It's just really frustrating that you need 10 (!!!) cards in order to get to play with the character at full potential.
IN ME3 you just needed to level up to 20. And you levelled up an entire class when you did.
*le sigh*

This makes absolutely no sense. With unlimited money I could buy all the APs and them just open packs for 2 hours and have everything maxed. Of course paying money saves time. That's the entire enticement.

Why do you need a maxed manifest? Is it so different from playing on bronze with maxed commons or silver with maxed uncommons? I would play 10 hours a day if I could, but I only get in 10 a week. Wanting to pay has nothing to do with having responsibilities.
