Inb4 this is closed - I would really like to see the RPG Maker remake of MEA Bethesda has their own titles to work on.....😆 Bit of a stretch to call Bethesda RPG makers. I love their games, but they're sandboxes, not RPGs. They're the undisputed masters of NPCs not even reacting slightly to your achievements, but calling you all kinds of names, even when you just saved their asses.

Not a stretch when most of their games win RPG of the year.😆 My favorite the old school Skyrim pre remaster awards. www.imdb.com/title/tt1814884/awards?mode=desktopBut yeah that does bug me to no end the lack of legend or how your approached. But hopefully this is something that is further expanded on in the next one. Especially as FO4 started in on it pretty well.

Hope you're not a robber, Synth, along these lines. On the PC this is easily remedied by the excellent modding community, but they haven't changed one bit between Morrowind and FO4. So, chances are, they won't change at all.

I find the videos and the comment sections very interesting if ya want. He has a large playlist and the ear of someone close enough to get feedback through (supposedly).

There's one thing though, Bioware should learn from Beth. And that's giving their NPCs the appearance of life. In FO4 people are moving around, toiling the fields, even roaming the land. In Bioware games they're salt pillars. Glaringly obvious with Bradley, who could easily moonlight as a telephone pole. That's about the only thing coming to mind where Beth does the better RPG job than Bioware. Creating the sense of the environment being alive.

At least Bioware's quest-important NPCs don't run away from their designated places to get killed by some random mook spawn, as was the case in New Vegas

Funny since Bethesda games are much more closely related to the old school definitions of Role Playing than anything Bioware has produced since maybe BG. Bioware games are closer to a cinematic action game or visual novel on steroids than a Role Playing game. I like both Bethesda and BW games for what they do and how they do it but I've always found it a bit of a stretch to call ME or even the recent DA games RPGs.

I like both Bethesda and BW games for what they do and how they do it but I've always found it a bit of a stretch to call ME or even the recent DA games RPGs. As in the world reacting to you or your character, they are. But it's basically apples and Oranges, since up until ME3, Bioware's games were rather linear adventures with a few sidequests. They adopted the open world concept starting with DAI. And that's where they have to face the comparison to other Open World concepts. Bethesda, as I already said, handles the illusion of their world being alive in a much better way. As far as the world reacts to what you're doing and achieving in the game, Bioware trumps Bethesda. That's why I play both games for different reasons. I accept Bethesda's to be basically sandboxes and am looking for mods taking care of the most obvious flaws. There's quite a number of mods taking care of the unreactive environment. At least they're able to shut the constant attempts at insulting the player up. Storywise, well, I can't imagine anyone being in defense of the parent/child approach in FO4, creating a false sense of urgency, without even giving you the opportunity to really care within ten frigging minutes. Bioware, well, they're not running for the Pulitzer either when it comes to stories. But there's one thing to say in favor of Bioware. Usually the engaging companions draw you in. Bethesda's companions on the other hand, at least in their last game, which was FO4, are bland from the get go. They tried to imitate other games where companions were a meaningful addition, but the half assed attempt at creating romances fell flat on it's face. Basically you could create a mixed harem of all of them. Which devaluates the reason for romancing anyone in this game. There's no sexual identity of the character, there's no identity at all, since they're all fine and dandy with you choosing all of them at the same time. Both companies have their merits and weaknesses. Both have their moments and their screwups. But for different reasons.

I am enjoying the clips, if Bioware clips were as good as these in MEA the game would have been more exciting.
