So I've been googling but haven't found any answers, so I was hoping someone here could help me out

I bought some fish and a couple of model ship from the Citadel, but they're not showing up in my cabin. Am I missing something obvious or is it a bug?

It's not a big deal or anything, but it's been annoying me. I even bought the Aquarium VI, what a waste of credits!

I haven't had that problem.

I know if Kelly is alive and you had dinner with her in ME2, she will be found at the back of Cargo Hold B in the Citadel's refugees camp. When talking with her, she will mention the fish and send them to the Normandy

Any models you bought in ME2 are hidden around the Normandy (shuttle bay, life support etc).
Your fish are gone unless you got Kelly to feed them. If so, go find her on the Citadel for a nice surprise. Failing that, buy more.
And have you found your hamster yet?

Maybe reloading a save might fix the problem.

That's right. My space hamster has been with me through thick and thin. He was with me when dealing with the collectors. He had to hide to avoid being seen for 6 months while I was locked up. He's the one that gives me support that I can beat the reapers. So yes, I will take a moment to show concern for the little guy.
