To lie or not to lie....

I told him the truth about Alec and lied that we found a home.

I told him everything was fine. My thinking was like when my own father was dying IRL.

I've done 3 options so far:

1st game - lied about both
2d game - truth about dad, lied about home
3d game - all truth
current game - same as 2

The only one I haven't done is lie/truth, if that's possible. I really like Harry's double-take when you lie about Alec.

Yeah, this was key for me. They didn't brush off the lie as nothing. When you're saying it, you make a face, and even Dr. Carlyle has a reaction. It's a good chance to roleplay and has a later payoff in the different reactions from the sibling and your choice of options.

I lied for both things. I wanted to be able to comfort Sara in a meaningful way when she found out, so I chose to wait. To me it seemed like she would be able to handle things easier if she didn't feel impotent, stuck in her body, unable to do anything but feel sad; she couldn't even cry if she wanted.

I've seen Youtube of the Pathfinder telling the sibling lies and when the siblings woke up and found out about the lies, it made me glad that I told the truth.    

I told the truth on both counts. Sara was strong enough to take it.

I told Scott that we were headed back to Earth after seeing how ugly the hab 7 planet looked.

I told him that the plot demanded that our father had to die. I told him the golden world didn't workout.

I've always told the truth about Alec, and lied about finding home. The lie about home felt more like "stretching the truth" (Eos is kind of home?), while lying about their dad was pretty major. The lie about home also softened the blow at least, since I didn't want Scott to have that freak out, either.

I've lost my dad in real life too, so going from personal experience, I felt that telling the truth was best. Lying about something like that would never sit right with me. The home situation can always change too, but Ryder can't take back the lie about Alec.

I felt it made more sense to lie. That kind of stress when they were in a coma could seriously interfere with their recovery. I do wish that there had been the option to tell them the truth ourselves once they woke up. Or at least call out Harry for not letting us handle that part.

Truth about Alec - there is no fixing it, lied about the home - by the time s/he wakes up, of course I would have found us a home!

Told her the truth obviously. She deserved to know and not be coddled.
