To lie or not to lie....

I tell Scot the truth every time. I wouldn't want to be lied to if I was in that position.

First and second playthrough I told the truth about both. Third playthrough I told Scott the truth about Alec, but lied about home. Yeah Eos is kinda a home and I think it's pretty so it wasn't that much of a lie. Interested to see how it plays out this way.

I was playing more of a badass Ryder first time round so she told him the truth. I liked how he said later on that he appreciated that she was honest, made me feel a bit better about it. It was handled pretty nicely really.

My Ryder told the truth. Scott deserved to know what happened to their father, and she was incapable of lying about it anyway. She was tempted to lie about the other part, but ultimately went with the truth there as well.

Lied about Alec, told truth about the not-so-golden worlds.

I always tell the truth in that scenario, if i was in a similar situation i rather have the truth than sweet bullshit.

I told the truth about both, but I wish I could say that I have two worlds that are fully habitable (Eos and Voeld by the time I had a chance, Ibelieve)

That way I'd be able to say "Yeah, shit sucked, but we really worked on it and we actually have golden worlds now"

The truth in order to avoid useless drama.

I told: "The truth and nothing but the truth..." (nope, not "so help me god!" - Atheist!)

I hate it when people lie to me to comfort me, that's WRONG IMHO (you may lie if you are a parent and the family is in dire straights financially - if you know you can fix, but if you can't do anything about something, like in this case - you can't after all bring back the dead or make habitat 7 liveable, then you should IMHO not lie about it because the other party will eventually find out and it will make them sad and angry that you lied to them!)

ps: You may IMHO also lie to protect yourself or somebody else from harm (like if somebody threatens you and you convincingly lie to them, so that they don't hurt you, then that's ok!), but lying just because, without an IMHO good reason (nope: Trying to spare someone's feelings is not cool IMHO!) isn't a good idea!

It feels more appropriate to tell your sibling the truth when they're awake and where you can actually console them.


As opposed to in a coma where they're already in a state prone to fragilty and you can't 


The last thing I want to hear while in a coma is that my parents are dead.

I told the truth about the failure of viable worlds, though. There's no emotional, familial attachment.



Also it's just more dramatic. Your sibling wakes up during the last arc of the game and it makes it that more impactful for Ryder to not only finally being able to see his sibling reawakened but also confronting his lie and assessing everything that's happeneed since arriving to Andromeda. Saying "our dad's dead" to someone in a coma is not as dramatic as a face-to-face consolation.


And there's nothing morally consequential  about the choice it either. Even if you lie, your sibling  is not really resentful about the lie, just peeved.
