This is what I wanted to point out as well. Some of the doors take WAY too long to unlock. It's really annoying when you just want to look around and explore the place a little bit. I use a 360 controller for PC and the one thing that bugs me more is the "Y" sometimes won't appear to talk to someone, or I have to angle myself in an odd direction to get it to show up. Had that issue with DAI too. Same on XB1 and PS4. It's a design flaw for sure. You should be able to do this at any available angle, within a certain radius.

Had that issue with DAI too. Same here. And that's annoying as hell. Having to chase the sweet spot to enter a conversation. Even worse when the character in question zig zags away when you approach them. There's another issue. If you happen to have your weapon drawn and you want to open a door, make sure to stand perfectly still. Otherwise you perform a melee attack, which made me fall through the ground at several buildings.Yep! That one is super annoying!

Yeah, the triangle button = everything thing caused a few problems. I have to move in circles around certain NPCs for one to be able to even interact with them. And then the melee with the asari sword caused a few weird issues. I went through the elevator door once at the exhaltation facility on Voeld , trapping my character since I was unable to progress without actually opening the elevator so I needed to go back a save.

Its driving me crazy, I keep tapping and nothing happens. I actually like the system (most of the time), since you don't actually have to hold it for very long at all, but you won't accidentally press something either. Although the Nomad bugs me because you have to hold Y/Triangle/E to get in, but a different button to get out. First time I got in I accidentally extracted to the Tempest trying to get out It's not too bad, but Kadara's doors are ridiculously slow! I feel like its an invisible loading screen, although that would be odd considering Kadara is fairly small and you can be in much larger zones with no loading. Even just other hubs. If there's a reason for it, whatever, but the ones that bug me are the hacks that just take a pointlessly long time to do. I'd rather a minigame as well. As a long-time Destiny player, I feel right at home XD I wish the Destiny ones were as fast as ME:A to be honest. On the ps4, I use the triangle button. What bothers me more is that triangle is also used for melee. So when in combat, if there's a container close by or remains of an enemy, I can't melee an enemy until I pick up whatever that item is. So I end up shooting the enemy or using a power. That is annoying, but one thing you can do is wait 'til the battle is over, holster your weapons, and find all the loot. So when in combat, if there's a container close by or remains of an enemy, I can't melee an enemy until I pick up whatever that item is. So I end up shooting the enemy or using a power. I get around this by quick tapping, since melee doesn't need to be held down at all to function and there's no heavy melee like ME3. Which makes me sad. I loved heavy melee. And light melee combos. Without the need for another button, they provided some awesome mechanics and variety. I don't know why they removed that in ME:A in favour of all medium melees At least we can do an airstomp now. Also, this will probably come as a huge shock to you, but I like your avatar Is it edited slightly?

BansheeOwnage It's odd it's the only place that has that, except for that one door on Havarl, but Ryder even said she had to override it, so that's why it was slow. Maybe the locks are extra tight on Kadara for security? It's stupid either way. I already hate Kadara and this just makes it more annoying.

Gah I hate having to hold E. I don't know why it couldn't have been a preference--Interact Delay On/Off or something like that.

kinda funny, but just did Vetra's loyalty mission the other day, and.. there's one part early on where you have to take the people into a room, and let the guards walk past. when they pass, the door opens so your team can pop out and kill em, but I lollygagged and the door closed, keeping me in with the peeps. Luckily Cora and Vetra kicked some ass, and the door opened, and all was well.

I still remember having to put Shepard in the exact position required to speak to an NPC because otherwise the dialogue wouldn't start, whether in ME1, ME2 or ME3. It drove me nuts every time!

In MEA, I find I always have to do a little jiggery dance to get into the right spot to talk to someone.

Personally, I'm totally fine with it. It keeps me from hitting things accidentally.
However, it can be annoying sometimes. The main one is the big door on Kadara that takes about 10 times longer to open for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

I dont mind holding Triangle (or E, in PC's case) to interact with things, but I do have one nitpick here: Why the hell does it take like 30 seconds of holding the button to open basic doors in kadara port? All Three or four doors? I dunno maybe because the place is filled with gangs that it needs extra security coding. Ryder is actually unlocking the doors with the passcode given to him that would normally be locked to other exiles. Where other doors are unlocked. Would you rather do a mini game every time to get through each of Kadara's three doors? There's also a ton going on in Kadara port especially if you look up. I imagine it is there to hide a loading screen, but most people don't appreciate the seamless immersion of MEA. Everyone bitched about the planet traveling too even if it does get a little old.

It's not too bad, but Kadara's doors are ridiculously slow! Agreed. For most things, it's not too bad at all. But I just don't understand why Kadara's doors take so bloody long to open. It really is annoying, and makes no sense. I wonder if it's an oversight? Maybe doors were programmed that way in the beginning, then they realized it was too stupidly-long and decided to change them all, but someone just forgot to change the ones on Kadara? *shrugs* I always figured that the game was streaming in the section where you were going during that time (you know, kinda like a hidden loading screen). It was the same with the security scanner on the the Normandy in ME3 (the one with the two guards between the CIC and the war room). There was a mod that removed the delay but then, you'd have texture pop ins and such. Not sure if anyone ever modded the Kadara doors and tested if it's the same there though. @thread: YEa, the holding thing is useless. If it really was done to placate people who complained about mis-tapping keys, well, IMO one should not cater to silliness all the time.

A new hacking mini game would have been a cool idea. But I would gave them few and far between to avoid it being too repeative.

Same situation, same spot, same nuisance. On a side note, I had similar issues with the reload/swap weapons button. They seem to have fixed that with 1.06, but mid action I found myself swapping weapons when I only wanted to reload.

It's a controller thing. Controllers have fewer buttons than keyboards so they have to resort to tricks like holding a button or half-pressing a button to do something different. At least this time they didn't say "made for pc gamers by pc gamers"

At least this time they didn't say "made for pc gamers by pc gamers" Well, yes. When I first fired up DAI I came to the conclusion, that this isn't intuitive or comfortable at all. It was the moment when I went rummaging for my wireless xbox controller, which provided a much better experience than mouse and keyboard. And I'm a mouse and keyboard man over more than two decades.
