So I'm on my first new game plus play through, and I've been looking forward to trying the asari sword melee vanguard build, but after finally trying it out in combat im a bit disappointed. The over the shoulder camera is so close to Ryder that I can't see half of the screen, movement and especially turning to face enemies up close is really slow and clunky, and its really difficult hitting hovering targets like observers. The teleport on the asari sword is cool and all but actually makes it harder to hit enemies right in front of you, I often have to evade backwards before using melee to land a hit, and its problematic in cramped areas like buildings.
Any tips here? Maybe melee just isn't for me and I should try an adept build?

The other thing I would suggest is to learn it a little more step by step, by using a different melee weapon to start with and once you feel you have the melee figured out then switch to the Asari Sword. Right now I am using the cryo gauntlet and it is fun using it to prime enemies. Another thing to try is to lower the difficulty if you aren't going for the Insanity Achievement either.
